A few minutes after I received an email from Peartree Hill if I had any special requests. We arrived late at night and was greeted by Avril. She was so kind and had everything ready for us. I had a really long day traveling behind me and a hospital visit so I simply fell into probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. When I awoke I was looking at a beautiful view of Scrabo Tower and the stunning Irish countryside. A complete state of the art en-suite bathroom complete with floor heating. Strong WiFi, fridge, wide screen TV. Although I spent most of my time in the hospital, when I would come home I needed nothing. The room was cleaned, beds were made and Avril even placed a small jug of fresh milk in the fridge for my cup of morning tea. It was such a relief just not to have to worry about anything apart from the reason why I was there. If you are an author or screenwriter this is a hidden hideaway. Complete peace and quiet. It’s 10 minutes from Belfast City Center and 10 minutes to the East coast. They say every cloud has a silver lining. Well, I lost my father but found a new home away from home. The location of Maryville House is perfect - a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride to Belfast centre but with a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops within easy walking distance. - "Fabulous location but the unit itself needs some work, particularly in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the window shade is covered in mold so couldn't roll it down for privacy, and the bathtub is mold heaven. Not sure what the brown/bloody looking ooze was that was dripping from the tile, but it was gross. And the bottom of the bathtub skirt was not actually attached to the floor, so water just soaked right under there and sat. no way to clean it. so there has to be so much mold in there. The rest of the place is fine and worked great for our stay. "

Everything supplied for a comfortable stay - there were complimentary toiletries, cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, cif, tea towel, plenty of toilet rolls. There was a bottle of white wine left for us which was a nice touch and some yummy crisps. We didn't bring a car but there was an underground car park which was easy to access. Seemed a very safe area, fobs needed to open all doors. Lift worked and there were 2 to choose from. Great central location - we mostly needed the hoho and tours so the office is 5 minutes walk from the apartment. "
