When we pulled up to the property, my Uber driver expressed reservations about leaving me there and ultimately said he just couldn’t do it. He said the area was incredibly unsafe and then drove me the half hour back to city center free of charge. The Space:
While it's a lower level, the space is warm, bright, quiet and roomy. Original doors and door hardware were preserved but the bathroom and kitchen are the epitome of new and nice. The living room is open and features high-speed internet, smart TV and a fold-out sofa bed. The entire unit features heat and central air conditioning too, and there is a full-size washer and dryer for your use.

The Neighborhood:
Historic Bloomingdale is in the center of DC geographically, so it's a great place from which to enjoy the city. With 1900's era architecture, wide avenues, green parks and lots of trees, it's a gorgeous home for DC residents but also close to all the sights visitors want to see.

Getting Around:
Locals walk a lot, and you'll probably want to explore the neighborhood. But to get much farther, and particularly to get to the Mall, Capitol and Smithsonian, or to get to Catholic University, you might want to Uber/Lyft or rent a bike or scooter using the apps. You can easily walk to Howard University, plus restaurants and bars that are just blocks away.

This is a lovely ground floor one bedroom apartment in an unbeatable location! The apartment is on beautiful A Street SE just seven blocks from the Capitol (and the National Mall) and within walking distance to all D.C. has to offer. You are just a couple blocks from all of the restaurants on Pennsylvania Ave. and Barracks Row. Walk one block and you have Eastern Market with all of its vendors, several coffee shops, a bagel shop, banks, a dry cleaner, a liquor store, a gas station, and other businesses.

The apartment was just completely renovated and has an industrial feel - -- exposed brick, large new bathroom with marble tile and walk-in rain shower, all new furnishings, etc. The apartment is on the ground floor of a large Victorian house - and has its own entrance through a door that is on the side of the house. The apartment has an open floor plan with the main living area housing a large couch, chairs, and 50 inch HDTV (cable, Roku, etc.) There is a RH rustic dining table and chairs which seats four and galley style kitchen with stainless refrigerator and appliances, stove top/oven, dishwasher, etc. There is also a full-size washer-dryer in the unit.

Great 2 bedroom on scenic prestigious East Capitol Street, where movies are often filmed. Top location 3 blocks to Capitol. Entire top two floors of detached building. Late spring and summer are the 'high season' very high demand months, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bring people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid. Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.

Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.

This was a big deal for us because we had 5 adults who did not want to share beds, which is a huge reason we picked this place! When I inquired, I was told there was a blow-up mattress available. I had to hunt it down because it wasn't where the host said it would be. Ditto the bedding. I inflated it and made the bed only to have it lose air overnight. Fortunately, there was a second air mattress which did hold air for the rest of our nights, but it was extremely annoying to have to go through all that a second time. This was completely unacceptable as we would not have rented the place if we had known it didn't really have 5 beds. If you only need 4 beds, then go for it. 2. Lots of coffee, but...no coffee maker! Just a temperamental Keurig machine. 3. I didn't check out all the bedrooms, but the one I stayed in had two brand new lamps on the nightstands...but they were useless. One of them could not be plugged in without an extension cord (there wasn't one), and the only available outlet anyway doesn't work, so neither lamp could be used! I literally had to use my phone flashlight to get back to the bed after turning out the light across the room."
