And you’ll love the magnificent mahogany shutters and doors (all fully screened, of course) all around the house.

Behind a Caribbean stone wall and next to the villa, La Bella Villa’s pool deck provides the perfect place for enjoying St. John’s sun and the views of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain. The fresh water outdoor pool has ready access to a shower from the deck area as well as an entrance to the kitchen. With lounge chairs, a table and umbrella for reading by the pool, beach towels, and a nearby gas grill, you have all the comforts for an afternoon in the sun. We also provide beach chairs and a cooler for beach outings.

Opening from the pool deck, the kitchen is a recently installed custom kitchen with a granite counter top. It is modern and fully equipped.

The living room is furnished with traditional Caribbean furniture. With vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, tiled floors and Caribbean art, it has a relaxing and inviting interior. For your entertainment, a British Colonial-style armoire houses the entertainment center, including a nice collection of movies, CDs, and games for guests’ pleasure.

The beautiful mahogany doors open to the 500 square foot deck with a fabulous view of Coral Bay. The porch has a wooden table which seats 6 for relaxed, al fresco dining. A comfy sofa and wicker rocking chairs make the porch an outdoor living room, cooled by breezes from Coral Bay and by ceiling fans.

La Bella Villa sleeps 4 comfortably in its two bedrooms, and has a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room for overflow. Both bedrooms are air conditioned, and the design of the house is such that with bedroom doors open, the living area also is air conditioned. However, you will rarely need to use the A/C.

The master bedroom features a romantic, British Colonial king-sized four-poster bed with luxurious linens, sconce lights above the bed, mahogany closets, a floor mirror, ceiling fans for a comfortable breeze to supplement (or replace) air conditioning, and views through glass/screened doors onto the porch and to Coral Bay itself. The master bath has a full, island style, walk-in tiled shower, footed sink, and comfortable privacy.

The second bedroom features a queen-sized bed as well as palm tree lamps on mahogany night stands. Overlooking the pool and with windows on three sides, this charming bedroom also features luxurious linens, Caribbean art, a ceiling fan for a cool breeze, and mahogany doors and window shutters. Ditto on the air conditioner!

After a day in the pool or at the beach, it is a short drive to one of the many fine or fun restaurants for which St. John is well known, including the famous Skinny Legs, Indigo Grill, Aqua Bistro, Wok on the Beach, and others right in Coral Bay. A 20-minute ride takes you to Cruz Bay which features numerous other great restaurants and more shopping.

Perhaps best of all is the great access to the popular, beautiful North Shore beaches and the opportunity to explore South Shore and East End beaches, which are less frequented.

A variety of birds frequent the immediate area which, depending upon the season, may include the largest hummingbirds you have ever seen, even parrots, and our popular native bird, the little but gorgeous bananaquit. Coral Bay, which is a little more funky and laid back than the Cruz Bay area of St. John, is also known for the island donkeys and goats that wander the streets and occasionally come near the villa. Our very own iguana family lives in the trees off the decks. And the night sounds of the tree frogs will lull you into a deep restful sleep.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our week in paradise at the Secret Seashell and will strongly consider returning to enjoy this villa again (we visit Coral Bay regularly). The home is stunning and well appointed. We were attracted to the outdoor space including private pool, beautiful grounds and view as well as a large patio with a covered outdoor living room, and experiencing it in person far exceeded our expectations (even better than the pictures)! We primarily stayed on the main floor and it was exactly what we needed with a young toddler. In fact, we partly chose this villa because it is lower down on the peninsula and has balconies where a little one could not fit between the bars. Other than picking up a few items of sea shell decor, the home was already baby proofed enough that we could all relax and enjoy our time. The management team is great and recommended islandbabyvi.com from whom we ordered a pack-and-play, a couple baby gates and a booster seat, which were waiting for us in the foyer. The home interior is beautiful and comfortable. The outdoor shower off the master bath is just incredible and the whole matter suite is impressive. Both of the suites downstairs were very nice and one of them also has an awesome ornate stone shower that was indoors but still open air, so my wife often used it as well. Since visiting Coral Bay many years ago, we just keep coming back for more, and this home is in an awesome location without the steep mountain roads. Well be back!"

Ideally situated on Mamey Peak Road, Woodbine Villa is a spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped home with views out to both the North Shore and Coral Bay. The villa features solar power with battery back-up, a private pool (set at a comfortable 88 degrees year-round), a central location (only a 5 minute drive to Maho & Francis!), and all of the amenities needed for the perfect vacation on the beautiful island of St. John.

Woodbine boasts a completely updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and plenty of cooking necessities for making meals during quiet nights in. The attached living area offers a large couch and television for watching your favorite shows on Netflix or Hulu after a long day at the beach.

Through the kitchen and living room doors, the large deck area with pool welcomes guests with even more expansive views of Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands. Float the afternoon away in the pool, watch the boats come and go from the harbor from one of the lounge chairs while reading a book, or simply enjoy the peaceful sunrise while sipping coffee from the outdoor dining area.

Featuring a family-friendly layout with two large bedrooms in the main house (all on one level with only two steps to enter the home) and an additional full studio apartment in the lower level, Woodbine sleeps up to six guests total.

The Master bedroom in the main house features a Queen-sized bed along with air conditioning, TV, and a full ensuite bathroom with double vanity and large tiled shower.

The second bedroom in the main house offers two twin beds (convertible to a King-sized bed), TV, and air conditioning. A second full bathroom with pedestal sink and large tiled shower is located off the main hallway.

The studio apartment, accessible from outside the home and down a set of steps, is perfect for another couple or older kids. The space offers a queen bed, large bathroom, full kitchen, and living area with TV and air conditioning. A small outdoor table is also suitable for enjoying breakfast and the breeze.

The maximum occupancy for the villa is six total guests. Access to lower studio apartment is provided only to parties booking for five or six total guests. Woodbine Villa also provides guests with a variety of beach gear, including: beach chairs, beach towels, and coolers with ice packs. We recommend renting snorkel gear and fins from either Beach Bum in Cruz Bay or Crabby's Watersports in Coral Bay.

The location of Woodbine Villa offers convenience, without compromising tranquility. A less than three minute drive down the mountain leads you to the entrance of the North Shore (Route 20), where the vast majority of the beaches are located. Imagine early morning snorkel trips to Francis Bay and still being able to enjoy a quick lunch at the villa before heading back down to relax the rest of the afternoon at Maho, Hawksnest, or Cinnamon Bay. The North Shore also boasts hiking trails, ruins, and a variety of watersports options, including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.

The town of Coral Bay, with various restaurants (many with live music numerous days a week), a grocery store, mini mart, and shops is a short 10 minutes east from Woodbine Villa. Venture the less than 20 minutes into Cruz Bay via North Shore Road for Happy Hour drinks with a sunset view or dinner at one of the many restaurants specializing in local caught seafood.

Emily provided a video showing what the drive up to house looked like so we knew what to expect. She also answered our questions and texts immediately. WV has very high end appliances and kitchen is well stocked! We brought cushions inside from deck after first night as heavy dew or showers made it uncomfortable to enjoy morning coffee out there. Beds very comfortable. Donkeys in the neighborhood amusing! Pool lovely. Location on coral bay is so close to beaches! Would highly recommend."

- "The location was perfect. The accommodations were perfect. They were amazing hosts-so kind and friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. They pick you up from the ferry help you get to your rental and "around" upon arrival-take you to the grocery store and then to the location. The walk down to the beach is short but steep. Loved being able to go down to beach and sit in lounge chairs reserved for us at any time. Especially morning. It is stunning. The beach, the house, the views, the location, the hosts--I really can't say enough good things. Leaving was the only bad thing. We will be back!"

Cloud Nine’s great room is a traditional Caribbean structure with soaring 20 foot vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters and beams. There are plenty of cozy seating options, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, air conditioning, a reading nook, and dining table with a sliding glass door to the adjacent pool area.

The Cloud Nine kitchen is equipped with a gas stove/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and filtered tap water- no need for single-use plastic water bottles! You’ll find the kitchen well stocked with basic pantry needs including: coffee filters, paper towels, sugar/Splenda, an assortment of spices, and complete cooking and dining utensils. A gas grill is located just outside the kitchen by the front door.

Cloud Nine is perfectly set up for outdoor living and dining. The massive 1,200 square foot deck accommodates chaise loungers, covered alfresco dining, and plenty of open space for lounging in the sun or shade. True to the St John lifestyle, you’ll find yourself spending most of your time outside. And just wait for those magical sunsets!

Cloud Nine is conveniently set up with separate pods for both of the ensuite bedrooms, accessible via a covered walkway to the main living/dining area.

Bedroom #1 features a king bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and double doors that open onto the pool courtyard and view. Ensuite is a large double vanity bathroom and garden shower that opens onto the pool deck. The laundry room with full-size washer/dryer is located behind the primary bedroom in an attached utility room.

Bedroom #2 features a king bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and double doors that open onto the pool courtyard and view. The single vanity ensuite bathroom has a closet and private garden shower.

Bedroom #3 features a semi-private loft at the top of the stairs in the main great room. It has a queen bed and two additional twin beds. A private bathroom and shower are at the base of the stairs. The loft is air conditioned by way of the main house unit.

With over 60% of St John protected as a Nation Park, the island boasts some of the best beaches in the world. From Cruz Bay take the beautiful North Shore Road to experience the unspoiled beaches of Honeymoon Bay, Hawksnest, Cinnamon Bay, Maho Bay, and Trunk Bay which was just rated the #1 beach in the world!

- "Location couldn’t have been more ideal. The kids (7 & 10) thoroughly enjoyed visiting the beach clubs, not to mention seeing humpbacks and spotted dolphins in the bay. The hot tub has limited controls, takes a long time to warm up, and the cover is a challenge to remove and put back. There is a bright light on the AC units, so if you need total darkness to sleep in, you might want to bring a sleep mask. We found the access to the home very easy with multiple parking options (you are not fighting any kind of steep driveway). Overall we had a fantastic trip and would highly recommend this home!"

SAPPHIRE SUNRISE private mid island location. Island life usually includes the possibility of power outages. Sapphire Sunrise has solar panels and Tesla power walls so searching for candles and flashlights are a thing of the past.

Sea Spirit is a 600-sq foot cottage superbly located on top of a dramatic cliff with sweeping ocean views and great breezes. Your privacy is ensured by National Park surroundings. It has some of the best hush-hush snorkeling at the front of the house that exists on island... caves, live reefs and ultramarine blue drop offs with rays and dolphins. There is a resident spotted eagle ray at the front of the house. From its unique location you can walk to 2 pristine beaches. Kiddle Bay is very Maine-like with large flat stones that crackle at night, becoming sandy on one side. The other is Grootpan Bay and tends to be empty. If there is ever anyone there, it tends to be a nude beach. It is a mix of sand, small pebbles and coral. Both bays offer awesome snorkeling.

A short drive takes you to either Salt Pond Beach or the Lameshuur bays. Your constant companions are the umbrella of stars at night, the smell of salt air and the sounds of the wind and the waves and the occasional deer grazing in the yard. The restaurants and shopping amenities of Coral Bay are only minutes away, though you might prefer enjoying the deck. It won’t be long before your biggest worry is opting for sunset drinks at Sea Spirit or at one of the local eateries, stargazing or enjoying the musical scene in Coral Bay.

What’s no dilemma is our rates, we challenge anybody to procure such an experience as Sea Spirit for the price. Such a well-appointed cottage in such a one-of-a-kind location simply can’t be compared to any other St John house. Enjoyed morning coffee on the porch watching the sail boats go by and adult beverages in the evening while stargazing. I must mention also the resident lizards and banana keet (bird) that greeted us every morning on the deck. The cottage was clean and had everything we could possibly need plus. A steady breeze kept us cool at night and the sound of the water against the rocks lulled us to sleep. Just bring some food and your favorite beverages. Quite and private. Read on line some people questioning the privacy. There are neighbors. We were there for 10 days. Saw one of the neighbors once and they both were home during our entire visit. Didn't hear them at all. I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable private getaway at a great location to consider Sea Spirit. In fact after posting some pictures on Facebook, one of my friends contacted me as to how he can reserve it."

Drake's View has the same vista named by the magazine Caribbean Travel as 'the best view in the Caribbean'; a spectacular view of the British Virgin Islands and the East Shore of St. John. The villa has been voted 'Top Vacation Rental' for two years in a row now.

Drake's View is a four bedroom, 4.5 bath villa with a heated swimming pool, and hot tub that sleeps up to 8 people. Five tiled decks and a large tiled front porch provide ample outdoor lounging areas. One bedroom is in a separate cottage.

The traditional architecture of the house entrance with yellow stucco, red roof, and simple columns contrasts with a dramatic facade of glass along the east wall. No matter where you look in the house or cottage, you have a fantastic vista of Coral Bay, Drake's Passage, and the British Virgin Islands.

On a clear day, you can see the Baths at Virgin Gorda. Rainbows, mangrove cuckoos, kestrels and red tailed hawks are common sights. Drake's View has the ambiance of a home rather than a rental. The large great room is furnished with Indonesian, American antiques, and comfortable, plantation style furniture. The villa is filled with local art and a large reef painting and mobile by Robert Tharsing.

The well equipped kitchen is very spacious and includes one of two dining areas. Three bedrooms have king sized beds and one has a king, convertible to twins. Each bedroom has air conditioning, private bath and Swedish TempurPedic mattresses.

One to four couples or a large family will have ample room for privacy, different activities,and for relaxation at Drake's View.

Drake's View is centrally located, on Bordeaux Mtn the highest point on St. John. The roads leading to Drake's View are all paved. It is surrounded by lush local vegetation and a large, terraced tropical garden with lime, coconut and mango trees. It is a six minute drive to the Northshore Beaches; three minutes to the Reef Bay Trail; ten minutes to Coral Bay; and fifteen minutes the Cruz Bay. From the front door, you can hike the Bordeaux Mountain Trail to Lameshur Beach in one hour.

St. John has fabulous snorkeling, diving, and hiking. The snorkeling is among the best in the Caribbean. Since 2/3 of the island is National Park, many beaches have amenities but no developments mar the expanse of sand and palms. From St. John, it is easy to take day trips to visit other islands such as the popular yachting destinations of Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Peter, and Norman Islands.

The Park Service also offers snorkeling tours, hikes, birding tours, sails, archaeological digs, and lectures. Numerous park trails lead to stone ruins of old sugar mills and plantations, petroglyphs, and even waterfalls if rainfall is plentiful.

St. John is reached from St. Thomas via a twenty min. ferry ride.

Our family glamping site with AC is new this season! Two seperate container rooms each with a queen matress, fresh linens and towels will be waiting for your arrival. One conatiner has an additional twin mattress, and the other has room for a twin air mattress for a 6th guest. A TV, recessed lighting, air conditioning and small fan are in both containers for your comfort. The family site has a large deck with 4 adirondack chairs and table connecting the two rooms.

Our Lameshur Campsite is conveniently located next to the national park for easy access to hiking trails and beaches. The closest beach being Salt Pond right down the road.

There is a outdoor kitchen and lounge area that all campers can use. It has a full size fridge, big flat top grill, and outdoor dining area and bar seats. All utensils and cookware are provided along with fresh drinking water. Coffee pot and blender are also provided. A dartboard is ready for your enjoyment along with some board games.

A single outdoor bamboo shower is stocked with shampoo and body soap. A single bathroom is located just past the kitchen/shower area. Both are in the shared spaces for the three glamping sites to use.

A twin air mattress is available to sleep a 6th guest for an extra fee.

The photos are accurate but the home is even better than a photo can capture--the high quality construction, hand-carved mahogany staircase to the rooftop, furnishings, and outstanding views in complete privacy and quiet. There is a clean pool and extra large hammock for relaxing. The kitchen has full panoramic views, as well as multiple decks with even more views. For us, peaceful Ajax Peak was the best location for easy access to all parts of the island. We especially appreciated making a quick trip to the North Shore to be the first ones in the water for a morning snorkel or an early evening snorkel at Maho or Trunk Bays after the crowds have left. Sunsets and star gazing from the rooftop deck, what a great way to end a full day of snorkeling and exploring. Birds, butterflies, and deer were welcome visitors.
