- "My husband & I booked this property for our visit to Santiago starting on June 13th thru the 18th with no problem, meaning they took our money, a few weeks before we left. As our trip got closer I kept checking my inbox as to the check in process. I reached out to the property 2 days before we were to arrive because we had yet to receive any information at all. I then received an odd message stating that this property was no longer on VRBO and they had not only changed the location of our VRBO but they had also changed the dates of our stay. We were flying in on the 13th & now we have no where to stay. We reached out to the VRBO help desk because now the system was not allowing us to cancel our stay & get our money back. The help desk was not helpful they basically just said it was up to the property owner to refund our money because it was past their cancellation policy. I can't imagine the cancellation policy allows for not only a change in location but also a change in the dates of the stay. All the help desk was going to do was send an email to the property - not helpful - they didn't seem to understand or care that we now have no where to stay for 2 nights & were not interested in staying in a different location. We have used VRBO on many occasions but this was absolutely ridiculous. We were just grateful that we were financially able to book another location to stay. We are no longer interested in using VRBO when we travel."
