Security/Safety

The interior of the FLAT is focused around a MEDIUM central hallway serving as the main avenue of traffic and entrance area to the adjacent rooms. The hallway flows into a large, wide staircase that provides the main means of egress from the entertainment area of the house to the private rooms on the second floor. Four formal rooms with sixteen foot ceilings, pocket doors, fireplaces and tall windows form the main block of the building. The bedrooms have been decorated to approximate the subtler paint colors.

As you enter through the front door on the east facade, you pass into a grand hallway of the building. The wallpaper is Anglo-Japanese design with Roman and Greek themes in the frieze on the ceilings and walls. The predominant colors are dark with tan and gold highlights, creating an interesting contrast to the original interior trim painting of ashen pinks, tans, pale blues and black detailing. This combination of colors is repeated throughout both floors of the house. The tall, heavy, varnished wood doors have as the top panel, colored glass panes of amber, blue and pink, in a geometric design. On either side of the main doors are smaller, longer versions of the colored glass windows. The doors and small windows have molded surrounds of painted wood with bulls-eye cornerblocks and decorative accents on the door surrounds and on the baseboard. The door knobs, plates, and hinges are brass with raised Eastlake style ornament.

A single room of very simple design, offering total privacy. The bedroom is equipped with one bedroom with TV and refrigerator, as well as a bathroom. All the bedrooms have AC. We also have an inner courtyard that serves as a restaurant.

The hotel consists of 7 private apartments/rooms. Among them, two large apartments include their own kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The individual rooms are very simple in design, offering total privacy. Each is equipped with 1 bedroom with TV and fridge, as well as a bathroom. All the bedrooms have AC. We also have an inner courtyard that serves as a restaurant. However, the kitchens in the inner courtyard are mainly reserved for individual rooms.

The apartment is a great getaway on the 3rd floor, nestled in the rear of a school complex!
Safety measures are in place for your peace of mind. Neighbors are friendly and safety is the general sense in this area, but we go beyond, with 3 iron gates/doors with locks and security person.
(A general in the Congo Army lives right next door, and has one or more visable soldiers on guard, which adds to the sense of security on this street, even though it's already peaceful)
We have a nice rechargeable fan that works even when there's no electric which can provide light and Cooling
Very luxurious and comfortable couches, which can accommodate a third person to sleep as well!

15 minutes from Gombe depending on traffic. Plenty of little shops and street food nearby, and larger markets a little ways down the road. Its a place where there are plenty of people around the neighborhood but it's not overcrowded on the street

All power fails for a short time. We always work diligently to see if we can fix it quickly. Thankfully the electricity usually comes on almost every day and were able to fix problems timely.
There are a few evenings where there is a church meeting in the bottom level.

As we are keen on renewable energy we do not operate on generators however we do operate on solar panels as it creates no carbon emissions and it is more safe and reliable. As we are working on getting a generator for the apartment The electricity and power is is fully powered by solar panels this will guarantee 70% there may be a power outage at times so please choose accordingly.
Incase of a power outage we have batteries that work with solar panels that operate the
TV, lights and other appliance, however we have to charge the batteries just so the electricity can run in the evening. This may cause no power during the afternoon

Electricity and Power Outages
• Power cuts may occur due to the instability of the electricity supply in Congo.
• We have installed solar panels to ensure some essential services are maintained during outages. However, during these times:
• Only a few plugs will be operational, allowing guests to charge phones, watch TV, and access the internet.
• The cooker, hot water, and air conditioning will not function; however, the fan will remain operational.
• Some lights will also remain off while on solar power.
• Our pricing reflects these conditions.
• For additional needs, a gas cooker and a small generator are available upon request. Please speak to the on-site staff to make arrangements.
2. Housekeeping Services
• Bedsheets will be changed once per week. If you require additional changes within the week, this can be arranged for a small fee.
• Cleaning services are provided every two days, excluding Sundays.
3. Maintenance
• Any maintenance issues should be reported directly to the maintenance staff or cleaner. They will contact the technicians as soon as possible, depending on availability.
• Please note that we cannot address maintenance issues unless they are reported to us. Our staff is happy to assist, and someone will handle the issue promptly.
4. Refund Policy
• We do not issue refunds for services already used, regardless of the issue. Refunds will only apply to unused days. If you decide to cancel your reservation, please do so promptly.
5. Additional Notes
• As this is a holiday apartment, guests are required to provide their own cleaning and washing products. This is reflected in our pricing.
• If this is your first visit to Kinshasa, we recommend bringing mosquito spray, as mosquitoes are common throughout the area.
• A single roll of tissue paper will be provided upon your arrival. Any additional rolls will need to be purchased at your own expense.
• A shared washer and dryer are available on the ground floor. Please contact the staff if you wish to use them, as they are communal facilities.
