The welcome and care afforded to us by the owner and her son made our stay really special even though for us this was only an overnight stop. - "The reason for the terrible rating is - No meal at the Hotel so I ask the reception where I could eat, they pointed me in the direction of a local bar. Had something to eat there at 21:00hrs and by 23:00hrs I was having terrible stomach pains. (before eating at this bar I had had a continental breakfast before leaving the ship at Bilbao) By 02:00hrs diahorrea makes an appearance. There was no staff at the Hotel that I could call and I was too worried about leaving my room. So no help during the night, just had to put up with the situation. Next morning I had to move on even though I still feeling rough and anyway when I left the Hotel at 10:10hrs there was still no staff so I just left the keys at reception and close the door on the way out. This hotel looks on the map like it's a long way from the city center/ main plaza, but it's actually an easy 10-15 minute walk there, also it's a 5 minute walk from the bus terminal and also a 10-15 min walk to Carrefour Express grocery store and many restaurants. Plus there is a good although very busy restaurant in the hotel itself. Rooms including bathrooms are very pretty and very clean, photos on Expedia do not do them justice. Would stay again as rates were an excellent value. I note that they expect you to be in your room before midnight and not come downstairs before 7 am or an alarm goes off. So don't stay if you need to be out late or up early. Also, there is some noise at night from restaurant downstairs and during the day from a kids" park across the street. I am able to sleep through noise so didn't bother me. "
