The city is built around easy and accessible transportation with many of the main streets having dedicated bus lanes to move fast through the city. We constantly saw folks cleaning,and sweeping streets, cutting hedges, trimming lawns picking up garbage, etc. Very clean city. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay at the Mercure again."

No safe inside room, still locked with key and not card, no air conditioning (even though the city is usually cold), only one light for the whole room, the light switch by the bed was malfunctioning (got to walk to the door to turn lights off to sleep), the television is from the 90s and with bad audio and video quality, the Cable TV would randomly reset, the bathroom had one malfunctioning light, the free soaps and toilet papers they give are of the worst quality possible, the shower water is not stable (random flow and temperature spikes and drops), no drinking water in the hallways, no info about checkout nor breakfast around the hotel. The hotel was also not ready to the events in the city: my stay was during a weekend when a municipal test was being applied, the city expected 30000 visitors during the weekend and no taxi service was prepared nor the breakfast usual schedule was adapted. I've been going around the country doing those tests, and this was the first time I had such an unprepared hotel, even though this one had the highest "star rank" in all of them... The only thing I really liked was the breakfast: complete, tasteful and full of options. But not enough for me."

The breakfast was excellent and made a difference for me. The room was spacious, clean and it felt like a studio apartment. They kept the place clean. My only complaint is that there no switches where I could plug my laptop and phone. I asked for an adaptor which was provided on the 2nd day. There's no business office and I couldn't print anything. Finally, I was offered to log in using the front desk computer in order to get a couple of pages printed. The staff was very polite and helpful."

Last year was great, this year not so much. Overnight front desk guy was very unpleasant. During check in we paid cash and he never offered a receipt, we had to ask for it and he seemed surprised. My only sighestions for improvement: fitted sheets on the bed (the top sheet used as a bottome sheet kept slipping off in the night, and prioritizing guest coming back to the front desk to retrieve their room key (we had to wait in a line behind several new guests checking in).
