An after diner stroll affoprded views of the Marksburg castle across the river. We were there on an unusually hot and humid day (35C) and as this hotel does not have air conditioning, we were offered a fan. That along with windows that opened made for a comfortable night on what could have otherwise been rathed sticky. Breakfast was a typical German spread with cereals, breads, meats and cheeses along with juices and tea/coffee. Spay is a small and quiet town which probably does not pick up much of the passing tourist trade but small towns have character and give a different perspective to the larger towns. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Overall a very enjoyable experience "
