- "Very well done renovation of an old country inn by the river in the gorgeous little town of Charolles. Welcoming staff and clean well equipped rooms. Price quality balance is excellent!" - "We stayed overnight on our way home to the UK. Unfortunately the hotel reception was closed when we arrived & we had to phone a number posted on the door. This went to voicemail so we had to leave a message. Fortunately someone turned up within 10 minutes. The checkin was rather rudimentary & rushed. Despite the hotel description stating that it had a bar & lounge, these were not open that evening & no staff were present in the hotel. The Bistrot de Quai, which we were recommended to try for dinner, was extremely lucky to get the last two seats at the bar setting. It would have been helpful to be warned about this. The room was tiny, as was its shower room. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The lady who provided breakfast was charming & helpful. The food itself was plentiful & good quality. I wouldn't want to stay more than one brief night at this hotel."
