On both occasions I kindly asked the staff they can probably check the kitchen. I’m from USA and to be frank I’ve been using both 4 and 5 star hotels for 40 years, and in this time I have never had this occur not even at a 1 or 2 star hotel, to ask a guest for a fork or spoon is considered somewhat petty and offensive in our culture even in a Muslim culture (I’m Muslim myself) it’s just bad manners I always tip the help wherever I go. This is something that needs to be addressed if a guest can afford staying at a 4 or 5 star hotel , it’s highly unlikely that they would be stealing forks or tumbler glasses. "
