Our two "pilgrim rooms" (ladies/gents) offer 4 bunk beds with bathroom, overnight stay from €44/person. Directly on the Westphalian Way of Saint James and only 3 minutes from the RuhrtalRadweg, the small Hotel Garni, newly opened in mid 2022, welcomes its guests. The origins of the hotel were 200 years ago, at this point has always been an overnight inn. This tradition is now continued by the team of the "Pasta Passion" noodle factory on the first floor of the house.

The space
Our 4-bed rooms are individually furnished with two double bunk beds that face each other with your back, so that the "bed neighbor" is not seen. The beds are "adult-friendly," the upper bed is climbed via a ladder and has a crash protection. On the "upper" floor, the minimum age is 6 years old for safety reasons.


Each sleeping place has a small night sign with reading light and outlet for his mobile phone. The private bathroom is either "en suite" (Ladies/Frederunastift) or diagonally opposite (gents/bag carrier fountain).


In the room there is a lockable locker for each bed (please bring small padlock) as well as a cloakroom.

Please request directly if an appointment is not bookable here. Since we have to pay attention to the separation of ladies/gents, only one booking option per night can be booked here, others only on request! A late arrival is possible, there is a door pin code and a key handover safe, please provide a mobile number!

This tradition is based on the Pasta Passion Manufaktur team around boss Sabine Preuten, who has been making artisanal pasta specialties on the ground floor of the house since 2005 and hosts guests in the in-house bistro, since 2022. In summer, guests can enjoy regional and Mediterranean treats and cool drinks in the outer area of the bistro in the pedestrian area.

Our guests can enjoy Mon-Sat from 6:30 am with breakfast voucher in the opposite bakery cafe a wonderful "vital"breakfast, on Sundays with a value voucher in the neighboring café "Erste Sahne" an organic breakfast from 9am if breakfast has been booked.

The bikes of the hotel guests can be accommodated in our lockable and easily accessible garage and e-bikes are loaded. The pilgrims of the Jacob Trail will receive the stamp of the pilgrim station Herdecke from us and are welcome.

In the evenings it will be quiet in the lively old town, so you can dream wonderfully in the new box spring beds. Recreation from the daytime trails while cycling, hiking or business appointments is guaranteed. In the hotel, jogging suit is sufficient, e.g. in the 1st and 2nd floor (for the hallway to the refrigerator?) completely sufficient.

On the 2nd floor there is a tea kitchen accessible to all guests with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker (if you want to get started very early, you will find the first morning coffee here) and a hot water heater, as well as a cozy seating area. In the fridge there, guests will find a selection of other drinks – if a "snooze drink" is desired.

In the refrigerator there, guests will also find a selection of other drinks. The money is settled on a trust basis, the money is thrown into a small safe.

Check-in works without our assistance: with pin code for the hotel entrance and code for the corresponding compartment of the key safe, send both via email on the day of arrival.

During your stay
You can reach it and from 7:00 - 22:00 via the normal hotel phone number. From 10 pm - 7 am, there is an emergency number, which is always available in case of problems and can be found at the hotel entrance upon arrival.

Our hotel is a half-timbered house and has strict fire protection requirements. There is a smoke and fire alarm in every room. Therefore, we are an absolute non-smoking house, even e-cigarettes may not be smoked in the hotel rooms and rooms.
