- "We really enjoyed our stay in a beach bungalow. The room was spacious and very clean with an amazing bathroom. The property itself was lovely and peaceful (we checked in midweek) and it never felt crowded. We loved the pool and the open air spaces around the bar to relax. The dining options are somewhat limited, and frequently several items on the menu were not available. The buffet breakfast, while varied, was a little off putting with the birds being so close to the food stations. Understandably it’s hot and you want the airflow from outside, however I think it would be wise to invest in some more food coverings. A few extra things in the room such as a few plates and some teaspoons would also be a great addition. Overall we had a great time and loved the private beach the property sits on."

But cleanliness made up for it, fresh sheets comfortable mattress, our room was in the back , so very quiet. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful. We recommend the public coach as it is 5 plus hours from Noumea what an interesting ride with the locals - modern new and a glorious adventure seniors Pam and John recommend the adventure " - "L'Hotel Tieti is an absolute gem of a place hidden 300kms north of Noumea on the West Coast. Built in the mid 1980's, it is looking a little bit aged in some places but apart from that this hotel is superb. We stayed in a beachside bungalow and the staff and management (especially the Manager Yve) fell over themselves to make us feel welcome, safe and looked after. We were literally 15 metres from the white sand beach and the warm tropical waters. This hotel is very affordable and certainly popular with many folks, especially on long weekends. The accommodation is clean, well maintained and comfortable and everything is provided. There is not a focus on any kitchen cooking facilities as the hotel restaurant is so well patronised, accessible and provides everything you could need. We did make our own breakfast, but other than that generally dined at the hotel restaurant where the food is superb and plentiful. There is a fantastic pool by the restaurant and parking is in by the hotel with access to the bungalows by a system of boardwalks. This hotel is very well priced and affordable, by both New Caledonia standards and internationally. It is very near to a township called Poindomie which has several smaller supermarkets, ATMs and a pharmacy so everything you may need is very close. This hotel is a good base to use to explore further North, as well as simply relax on the sand or in the water (but stay about waist deep in the sea). We highly recommend L'Hotel Tieti."

- "We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff at the front desk were always so lovely and spoke great English. Room was great and cleaners did a good job keeping it clean, we got it quite sandy one day and they did a great job cleaning. Beach was AMAZING, better than any of the beaches visited in New Caledonia including private beach at the Hilton resort. Free kayak and other sports equipment was great and the man to book these through was really nice and even saw dolphins at the beach one day and came running out to tell everyone. Wifi wasn’t great, was slow and would disconnect but when you have a beach so great right there you won’t want it. Staff at restaurants were a little bit of of let down, due to location of lodge and not having much on the island you are left with no choice to go to the restaurant at the resort, there was no menu and each time we wanted to order something the staff would just say one or two things they could cook and didn’t know the price, they weren’t too friendly and didn’t speak any English apart from one really lovely lady. We stayed for two nights and spent three days doing nothing else but sitting on the loungers at the beach and swam. Would definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone else "

- "New Caledonia in comparison to NZ and AU is quite expensive, you get good value for money here. It's a bit off the beaten track, which we prefer. It's dated, but has everything one would otherwise need. Be sure to take advantage of the breakfast, it's huge and only $23 NZD. We stayed a couple of different nights in a suite and each room opens out either directly to the water (level 1) or with views to the ocean (level 2) and were clean and large. The staff were lovely, having google translate helped with one of our trickier queries. The staff were very accommodating, recommend having a car, but there is a bus that ran quite frequently too (didn't use it, but there was always one whenever we went to our car). Highly recommend especially if you're just needing somewhere safe to spend the night."

- "I have never before in my whole life seen such a beautiful beach" - "We stayed at the Paradis D’Ouvéa hotel in February 2024…The island itself is an absolute paradise, a place straight out of a cliché book and an absolute postcard.. look in any direction at any time and you will get a visual overload of beauty… The hotel however is a different story… this place is one out of two hotels on the entire island and by far the better one out of the lot. It is considered luxurious however, it need a serious cash injection in order to get serious TLC and undergo some major renovations… here are some of the points that truly need some attention our room, smelled rather funky of humidity and a dire need of fresh air. There is no internet in the rooms. There is no bell desk so you bring your stuff to your room… not a big deal but it is a big property The boardwalk to access the rooms gets covered with berries from the trees above when it rains and therefore becomes incredibly slippery and treacherous (see photo) The food at the restaurant is unbelievably expensive and mediocre at best… I don’t mind paying the equivalent of USD 38 for a plate of pasta but mine was downright inedible. The hotel feels like it is dramatically understaffed and the service at the restaurant is distant and robotic. They do however make good cocktails and you need to try their infused rum (local vanilla and lemon) All in all, there were a whole bunch of problems there but we chose to overlook them for the location is so remote and the surroundings are astonishing"
