I could nitpick on a few things but I'm gonna stick to the essential: sleep. I was given a room that faces the street. Sadly the blinds don't black out the room by any mean, so the street lights were lighting up the room a lot. Thankfully I had an eye mask but otherwise I'd have been in trouble. The pillows are way too plushy. No firm pillow available. As someone sleep on his side that's a problem. Staff gave me a second pillow and that helped a little. But the biggest offender was the bed: not very comfortable to begin with, it had a slope! You can tell right away when laying on it. I couldn't sleep near the edge facing the room, and had to make sure I was more on the half facing the wall. FYI, the Expedia page is slightly out of date. Breakfast is €10.00, not €6.00."

Could reach one bedside table but the other was too far away as the 2 beds kept moving. The sockets on one side of the bed would pop out, so had to make sure my charger was on the other side. Strange to have a punchbag hanging in the middle of the room but it used up some of the wasted space. Unfortunately not a lot to do in Remscheid. Last train from Cologne / Solingen is around 12.00am The food and service in the restaurant downstairs was good. Train station was 3 minutes walk. There were a few cafe bars around the back of hotel and a main shopping street and shopping centre with Aldi as well as lots of other shops. I contacted the hotel about reception as was worried due to previous reviews. They replied quickly and there is 24 hours reception. However outside the front door there is a check in/out machine, so not sure when this would be used. Lifts are a little rocky and there is a damp type smell when you get out of the lift but this smell is not in the room. All in all, the hotel is good if you know the area where you are staying but just a little too far out from Cologne for me. "

We came late and the staff at the hotel restaurants made an extra effort to make us food even though the kitchen was closed .5* for the service. We were given an apt and this was more like a luxury apt.. it’s not in the Main Villa but 500m away. Was absolutely wonderful.
