We saw that you should make a reservation for dinner by calling a number posted in our room and we did so. Upon arriving at the dining room we saw that it was a buffet this night. We walked up to the waitress and asked if we had an assigned table for our reservation. I told her our room number in German as she did not seem to speak English. She could not find our room number on the list and seemed perturbed and called someone and I had to ask her if she had a free table for us. She was not very nice and told us to sit anywhere. She did not bring menus for us to look at and I asked for a schwarzbier and she gave me a look as what was that. My wife asked if she had dunkel bier and she went off to get them. The waitress and bartender seemed to be more interested in playing on their cell phones than helping their customers. I am not a great German speaker but she seemed to not like to help us because we were not speaking proper German. The overall experience was not very good and we will not travel to this hotel again because of this."

The hotel is located in a small village which was very quiet and the scenic view was amazing. When we checked in and entered our room we were very pleased. The staff maintained the rooms very well. Very clean and nice furniture. There is an attached restaurant which we ate there the first night. We order meals for two adults and two children and we found ourselves stuffed with the amount of food they served us. This was a plus. The next evening we ate there again but asked if we could only order two meals to share between the adults and children. The staff was so wonderful. They split the entire meals in half for us but still served us on 4 plates. We were impressed and still surprised that we overate again with the amount of food served. Also the breakfast served was really good also. The had out the typical german breakfast items like breads, meats, cereals, and fruit but they also served eggs to order which was really great. And the hotel also had a indoor pool which was well maintained with a sauna room and coin operated tanning bed which my wife enjoyed. The only downside and slight mark down to the hotel was the limited internet. They had WIFI but the signal was weak in the room I was in and it would go in and out. But honestly the overall experience for me outweighed the internet problems. I would definitely come here again."

Check in was smooth, friendly and in English, out room was only a few metres from Reception and was clean and spacious. We booked breakfast for the morning at €10.50 each, and there was a good choice of cold items and warm boiled eggs, toast, and coffee. For our evening meal we visited the small Italian Restaurant Da Vinci that is about 100 metres away – (Walk out of Reception and turn left). Recommended for Airport overnights."

We received great information about the Tram to Strasbourg, the stop is just across the street, as well as must see sights in Strasbourg. In addition, the hotel is just a short 200 meters from the Kehl city shopping and pedestrian zone filled with stores, shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops. We are planning to visit Kehl and Strasbourg again next year and will be booking the ates Hotel Straßburg in Kehl for at least 3-4 nights. We did not partake of the breakfast buffet, since we wanted to experience the local flair."

- "A jewel of a little German Lodge in the lovely little hamlet of Kork. The hotel is in an historic old brewery and owned by the same family for a hundred years. Mark the Owner/Chef is a friendly and knowledgeable host who helped us make the best of our two-night stay. I chose this hotel because of its Michelin Guide recommendation, and the restaurant definitely lived up to that designation. Our meal on the first night was fantastic. I had the Caprese salad and the veal medallions with noodles. Firat class!! The rooms are Euro-style with new bathrooms which are spacious. The showers have excellent hot water pressure. There isn't a kettle for hot water for tea, but the staff will provide hot water from the espresso machine upon request. For those on driving tours, the hotel has six free parking spaces which is very helpful. One big advantage of this hotel is that it is next door from the commuter rail istation nto Strasbourg, which is very convenient. I definitely do not recommend driving into Strasbourg as it has restrictions and is, as expected, extremely pedestrian focused and crowded. The train time to Gare du Strasbourg is 20 minutes. In sum, we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again at this fine little hotel!"
