Only real let down was the exceedingly expensive breakfast that was really not worth the €30 that for 3 people almost felt like extortion. Some cold fish, a few cheeses and some tired looking charcuteries. Pancakes were fine as was the scrambled egg and bacon. But an extra €12.50 for Eggs Benedict, come on, that really is taking the biscuit! Also, had never heard of Rooibos tea, wich really was surprising for a place that clearly try to pass themselves off as top end. The blonde breakfast hostess was not great at speaking and understanding English, and the Basil Fawlty fake smile did not make up for that. Room was comfy, nice greeting card upon arrival and also macaroons and chocolate. But again, breakfast left an aftertaste, both price wise and for its lack of choice and flavour. "

- "I have been to this hotel many times, since it is the base for an event that happens annually. But I have never stayed at the hotel until this year, I managed to book early before it filled up this time. The rooms are luxurious and spacious, you can swing two cats at the same time no problem. The only negative is the location, if you are not driving the Uber or Taxi out will be costly, fortunately for me I was transported around by others at the event that had driven their cars to the event. The staff are excellent, the breakfast service especially is very organised. I never got a chance to use the sauna or pool this year, but have used it as a guest in the past - also high recommended."

- "Rudesheim was our last stop during our 2 week European vacation and we were very happy to stay at Hotel Zum Baeren as it was the best property we stayed at during our entire trip. We have bad allergies and asthma and the staff was able to accommodate our needs fully. Combined with blackout shades and a comfortable bed we had our best sleep during our trip and were able to recuperate quickly from our prior stays in the UK and France. The property is larger than it appears in the pictures and is located just a few minutes away from public parking. It's close to all of the action but just a couple of blocks away from it on a quiet street. We loved walking around the town day and night. We also walked to/from the Niederwald Monument and Eibingen Abbey for beautiful views of the valley covered with vineyards and castles. The staff was awesome and made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped into the lobby. We know enough German to get by but it was very nice having the front desk person fluent in English. She came out from behind the desk and showed us around the property and gave us other useful information on the area. All very much appreciated. When we come back to Rudesheim in the future we will stay at Hotel Zum Baeren without a doubt."
