We stayed in the Venice room, which was absolutely spectacular — incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of thoughtful touches like a complimentary bottle of champagne and nightly turndown service with sweets. The staff were exceptional — nothing was too much trouble — and we were even granted a late checkout. Dinner at the restaurant was a highlight: decadent, elegant, and delicious. The bar was equally impressive, with fantastic cocktails in a beautiful setting. The château grounds are stunning — you could easily spend hours wandering and relaxing. We did wish we had visited in summer to enjoy the pool, and it was a bit disappointing to learn that the spa is no longer operating — we would have loved to use those amenities. Also, while the food was exquisite, it was quite rich — more casual dining options would have been a welcome addition for longer stays. It’s worth noting that the château isn’t close to central Nantes, so we ended up spending quite a bit on taxis — but we were aware of this going in. Overall, this is a very, very special place — elegant, peaceful, and indulgent. We’d return in a heartbeat. "
