- "This is a beautiful little spot about a 20-minute walk from downtown Paramaribo. I also stayed downtown, and can surely say I much prefer being away from the noise and crowds of the city center. Villa Famiri is in a quiet, safe neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. You can also walk to downtown though it's not a nice walk (no sidewalks, lots of trash and standing water, lots of traffic). They have a lovely common area and pool so it's great for relaxing. The real gem of this place though is the staff! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, especially Lucy, Kenzo, and Delia! They really treat every guest like royalty. One day our hot water went out (fairly common in Suriname, I think) and they let me shower in one of the rooms in the adjacent building. They also helped with ordering taxis and getting me things like a hairdryer and hot water kettle. I really can't thank the staff enough! "

From this charming accommodation you are so close to popular shops and restaurants. Everything within walking distance. There is a Restaurant next to the Hotel. There is a terrace on the side of the hotel and a balcony on the front, where you can enjoy your stay. On New Year's Day there is the so-called popular famous "pagara estafette" (a lot of fireworks are then fired). This is practically kept at your doorstep. From the balcony you can watch this spectacle all day.
