Fall is here, and the holidays are around the corner! Come over and visit our little river house that we call "Blackhawk on the Fox". The location within the 1940's Five Islands subdivision lends itself naturally to the quaint cabin theme.

The house is a small 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom ranch house. Many guests refer to it as a cottage or a cabin. The first bedroom in the front has queen sized bed, and the second bedroom in the back has twin sized bunk beds. Please note, the bottom bunk of the bunk beds is low to the floor, and might not be suitable for all guests. There is also a full sized sofa bed in the living room, with a memory foam mattress.

Snuggle up in the living room for a Netflix movie night on the 50" TV. Order a pizza, or cook a meal in the kitchen. Roast marshmallows over the fire in the large fire pit in the backyard. You're welcome to bring your own firewood or purchase a bundle for $10 from the backyard. We also have a basic charcoal grill in yard. And, the kids will love the swing that hangs from a 30 foot branch in the oak tree!

Enjoy a front row seat and watch the river take a brief northwest detour before turning southbound again toward St. Charles. It's about a 5 mile drive to the charming streets of downtown St. Charles to the south, and Elgin is 5 miles to the north. There is plenty of bike trail nearby, including a long bridge that runs diagonally across the big bend in the river. If you're into fishing, you can fish right from the property. There is also a public boat launch right in the neighborhood.

Check-in is at 4:00 and check-out is at 11:00. We generally need to stick to these times to be sure we have enough time to get everything ready in between guests.

Please be aware that this property is in a wooded area! Although we try to keep the critters away, it can be prone to wildlife.

Riverfront Rental Sits on a quiet street in downtown South Elgin. This home gives you complete access to the Fox River. The bedrooms are on the main level, along with a beautiful kitchen featuring cherry cabinets and an island with breakfast bar, and an awesome four-season porch overlooking the backyard and the beautiful river setting. The second-level loft has great natural light . Outside, you'll find concrete patio and walkway, and stairs leading down to the river and firepit. The Space-
The Yates Loft is one of the oldest remaining buildings in downtown Geneva. Enjoy some history of the building with pictures throughout the space as well as our "History section" located in our House Rules book.

Newly renovated and redesigned, the space offers two bedrooms, full size kitchen and a lovely family room where you can enjoy time with each other. Perfect for accommodations up to 4 guests.

The home is furnished with one king memory foam bed in the master suite and one queen memory foam bed in the guest bedroom. Enjoy your own personal bathroom connected to each bedroom, please keep in mind there are showers only, no bathtubs (Sorry!).

In the winter months, the space can get cooler, I HIGHLY recommend packing warmer clothes for sleeping and lounging around. Or enjoy the comfort of your significant other to keep you warm as well! Additional blankets and space heaters will be provided if requested.

- "Clean, quiet and cozy…just right for a short get away. The town of Dundee is relaxed with plenty of restaurants. My in the clean, well kept loft was perfect! Suzanne is a perfect host. Kildahl House is a fully updated farmhouse that was painstakingly renovated specifically for short-term lodging guests. The simple farmhouse was built by the Kildahl family in the early 1900’s and occupies a prominent location atop a hill, looking over the downtown. Mr. J.P. Kildahl was the village’s first prominent photographer and served as a Village Trustee for 30 years, while Mrs. Louise Kildahl—active in the community—started a flower service that began almost fifty years of a beautiful tradition of bestowing flowers wherever cheer, or congratulations were in order.

In 2022, the property was completely rehabbed and renovated to offer four private one-bedroom suites that honor the original heritage of the property with clean lines, pastel color palettes, and simple farmhouse furnishings. The tonal clapboard structure with cedar shake roof offers river and downtown views, private backyard with a seating area. The wraparound porch, complete with porch swing, will take you back in time. - "We stayed here to break up a long, cross country drive. When we got here, we wished we were staying longer to continue to enjoy the place! The place was decorated with high end furnishings and was very clean. There was a swing on the front porch and a nice seating area in the backyard. The location is within walking distance to numerous bars/restaurants. Hosts had great communication and responded promptly when we had a question. The property was meticulously maintained and we would absolutely stay here again!"

- "St Patrick's Day is always a great time in East Dundee so we have been celebrating there for many years. The only downside was trying to find safe transportation home. This led to us looking for somewhere close to stay. Fortunately, we found the perfect location right in East Dundee. It has multiple parking spots on the back side of the building while the front side has a great balcony overlooking River St. It was the perfect spot to watch the parade as well as for some people watching throughout the weekend. The unit was clean and very cozy. It provided a spot for us to make a few meals as well as a great meetup spot when the downtown area was overly busy. The selfish side of me did not want to give a review to increase the likelihood it would be available for next year. If you are looking for a nice place to spend a weekend, this is it. If I had to guess there are at least 15 restaurants and bars within walking distance as well as a Dairy Queen and a frozen custard shop. If you enjoy the outdoors the Fox River Bike Trail is directly across the street. The trail is over 40 miles in length and runs from Aurora north into Algonquin. The combination of the nice unit mixed with such a great location I would definitely give it 5 stars and look forward to our next stay!"

Beautiful historic home. Newly remodeled kitchen - if you love to cook, this is the place for you, three spacious bedrooms, living room and sunroom. A 5-minute walk brings you to beautiful downtown Saint Charles and the Fox River. Excellent restaurants and entertainment nearby. A short drive to several grocery stores. The house is well-built and pretty quiet. There is plenty of parking for cars, or if you've brought your boat to go out on the Fox! Pet-friendly home. We live here 1/2 the time and have dogs ourselves. So....if you are allergic to dogs, this probably isn't for you. There is a fenced-in area that the dogs can use (and a dog door)! We will accept larger dogs, just reach out. The pet fee will go to an animal shelter we work with.

The apartment is located in a very quiet neighborhood surrounded by farmland. Yet it is conveniently located just one mile off Interstate I90 with access in both directions.

The studio complements our main residence.

Welcome to the Tipi Bnb! Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or a small family, this 1bed/1bath apartment located in a single family home has a king-sized bed and the living room has a queen sleeper sofa as well. There is a desk workspace in the living room.

The house is surrounded by mature oak trees and backs up to a neighborhood nature preserve with a creek and walking trails. Guests can sip their morning coffee while listening to the sounds of nature or relax and enjoy the sunset after a long day on the private outside patio.

Amenities include driveway parking (two spots), free high-speed Wi-Fi, washer-dryer, and workspace. We are family friendly and can provide a high chair, and kids plates/cups. We know how hard (and fun) traveling with little kids can be. If you think you might need something, just ask.
