You each have your own entrances to the house but both parties share the driveway. This caused issues because someone was always blocking the other renters car in. Both bedrooms have blinds and curtains when it's time to wind down and noise machines are available for any light sleepers.

The living room has a 75" Smart TV and a sleeper couch with an upgraded mattress if anyone wants their own space. This bungalow is in an amazing location! Hear the Waves! It is very close to the beach on a quiet alley without a beach view, but just over 1 block walk to the Seawall! We offer free daily beach setup with 2 chairs and an umbrella at Porretto Beach (6th-10th street-with free parking, 14th-16th street just-2 blocks from the bungalow, or 26-27th, during the Summer every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 8:00 AM -5:00 PM, weather permitting). The Seawall runs along the beach in Galveston and we are lucky enough to have a crosswalk with a traffic light at the beach-front of our street! There is only access across to the beach every 6-10 blocks, so this is quite a luxury to cross immediately without having to walk 5 or more blocks down to a crosswalk. Additionally, this same intersection is a designated pick-up for the Galveston Island Trolley that rides all over the island and is only $1 per person!

This Carriage House is your perfect 2 bedroom 2 bathroom alleyway bungalow only steps from the Gulf waters, beach store shopping, restaurants, bars and still close to everything like; the Strand historical district, the Pleasure Pier, and Moody Gardens. It is a sister property to the very successful and highly renowned Beach house called the Blue Crab Bungalow. We own both properties and in the Fall of 2015 decided to make the Blue Crab Bungalow our permanent home, so this means we will be close (in the front house) if you need anything at all during your stay. We pride ourselves on making your vacation special! We enjoy being near our guests and able to respond quickly to any of their needs, since our vacationers are in the house just behind us with their own private fenced-in yard, patio, grill, and outdoor hose. It has a paved alley entrance and with its own 2 single car driveways, one paved and the other is a crushed red granite parking spot beside the bungalow. To learn more about the history behind Galveston's amazing Alley Houses please read "The Alleys and Back Buildings of Galveston: An Architectural and Social History." We also have a copy of this book in the house for you to peruse during your stay.

In the off-season (late 2014 early 2015) this bungalow was brought back to life and was finished just in time for Spring break and to start the vacation season! This house was originally a carriage house in the early 1900s before there were cars. The carriages for the front property on the lot would be parked underneath this secondary structure and there would be living quarters above that. We fully restored the bungalow but were able to leave the charm of the small staircase from the early 1900s. The staircase is small, but the personality of this bungalow is enormous! It is decorated in a tropical theme with vibrant colors and never lets you forget how close you are to the beach. The backyard is filled with tropical plants and palms. Use the grill and table with 4 outdoor chairs for a cook-out or just enjoy the sea breezes and listen to the waves. Whatever you decide to do this BeachSide Bungalow will make for an amazing stay on Galveston Island!

The bungalow is also close to wonderful restaurants in Galveston; Mosquito Cafe (14th) Sunflower Cafe (14th) and Shy Katz (16th) Pirate Island Bar and Grill (9th) Hotel Lucine Rooftop Bar (10th). You should check them out if you get a chance. It is also just over 1 block to Benno's on the Seawall for wonderful seafood as well!

I recommend you bring your bikes to the Island because anything you would want to do is all within cycling distance from the Beach-Side Bungalow! You can also rent bicycles just 3 blocks from the house in either direction. Try Pedego Bike Rentals first and the Island Cycle.

There are so many fun things to do on Galveston that are all within steps to just a few miles away. Many great beaches, entertainment, shopping, and miles of Gulf Coast beaches. Galveston’s festivals, special events, and attractions are enjoyable for all! Check the Galveston Island website to see what's happening during your stay. There is always at least one festival per month on the Island and ArtWalk downtown on Postoffice St happens every 6 weeks. Galveston has many enjoyable activities for single and family lives. Explore the downtown Strand area and ride horse-drawn carriages. Also don't forget to visit the Elissa (a historic sailboat from 1877) or the oil rig museum, both near the Strand on Pier 21. See a movie, bowling or enjoy many of Galveston's shops & art studios. You can rent bicycles, scooters, golf carts & Segways to enjoy the Seawall during all parts of the day or just walk the beach, which is only a few steps across the way. The stretch of Seawall located just out from the house also offers Jet ski rentals in the Summer as well as chair and umbrella rental which is included free with the bungalow booking (including 1 umbrella and 2 chairs, but can add additional chairs and shade at a discounted rate) directly from Porretto Beach!

Many people also come to fish on one of Galveston's many piers (2 of which are just a couple blocks from the house) or charter a boat for more exciting catches. There are plenty of hidden coves and waterways to explore for your next fishing trip. Take the kids to Schlitterbahn, Galveston Island's amazing water park, or the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier (only 10 blocks away) which hosts many rides, games, and activities for all to enjoy as well as food at Bubba Gump's restaurant. Live Bands play on the end of the pier during the summer night weekends. The Cottage on 14th street is a light, bright, breezy vacation home. Welcome to your private 2 bedroom that is steps to the beach, in a cute, safe, and quiet neighborhood! Completely remodeled, separate and private lower level of the house. Tall ceilings, big windows, luxury linens, HVAC system, Wi-Fi, new mattresses, pots/pans, patio, grill, two bikes, etc.

The Salt Water Retreat is a first floor 2 bedroom 1 bath duplex that is located three blocks from the seawall in a great neighborhood. We completely remodeled this house but kept the charm of the 1900 house intact, just modernized.
We keep our rates really low but will ask about yourself and your visit. We love this house and we maintain it and clean it as it is near and dear to our hearts. We want guests that will treat it with the respect it deserves.

1st Bedroom: 1 queen bed.

The SWH has a beautiful queen bedroom with a new pillow-top mattress and hotel quality sheets. The seaside room has two new cherry sleigh beds with new mattresses and luxury bedding.

BATH:
The bathroom is gorgeous and has a large shower with a rain head fixture that is set high for our taller guests. There is a cute window located above the shower to let in natural light. The towels are luxury hotel grade.

KITCHEN:
The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms with generous counter space and a full sink, oven and fridge; it's color scheme is bright and airy and the granite counters and tile floor are easy to care for. There is a long breakfast bar, a pretty chandelier and half shutters to let in the natural light.

LIVING ROOM/DINING SPACE:
The living room has a new sofa and three new chairs. We have a 55" inch flatscreen tv in the living room with Apple TV (streaming netflix and hulu). There is a small patio area upon entering the house that you can use; it has a table and several chairs with many plants and flowers.

There is parking for two cars on the street. For our guests comfort and because there are already dogs on the property we do not allow any pets in this rental.

A wonderful alternative to a hotel with all the luxuries of home.

The area is a block from beach in historical neighborhood it requires a parking pass. The PARKING PASS costs 500$ to replace per city ordinances!! Please don’t lose it. You will be responsible for replacement cost. The pass says Seawall but it is for the neighborhood only...not for the actual Seawall. They may ticket you.
Quiet hours are 10pm to 8 am per city ordinances.

Sea Star Tides is a beautiful two bedroom two bathroom home that is located right off the seawall! Walk out the backyard and 15 seconds down the alley, cross Seawall Blvd and your toes will be in the sand! The beach doesn't get much closer than at Sea Star Tides.

The home has a cheerful open concept living area where you'll find the kitchen, living room, and dining area. Best of all, it's clean!

The master bedroom is located in the back of the home allowing optimal privacy form all the happenings in the living area. And of course only a King bed will do! The master ensuite features a tile walk in shower with enough room for two ;) The walk in closet has plenty of space for your luggage and is equipped with hangers and a luggage rack.

The guest or secondary bedroom is furnished with a King bed as well!

Home can sleep up to four guests between the two bedrooms/king beds.

The second/guest bathroom is located off the back hall and has a shower/tub combination.

A dedicated laundry closet is located right off the kitchen and has a stacked washer and dryer.

Smart TV's are located in both bedrooms and the living room so everyone can enjoy their favorite streaming services.

A secure private oversized one car garage is accessed by the alley which can be accessed directly from the seawall. Large SUVs and trucks will not fit inside. The garage and alley can be access through a fence gate on the East side of the garage. On street parking is allowed with a permit which comes with the home.

The backyard has no grass and has a patio table with seating for four. You'll also find a hose for rinsing off sand from your morning walk on the beach!

This Galveston beach bungalow style house was built in the 1930’s and sometime during the 1940’s it was divided up into several 1 bedroom ‘shotgun’ style apartments.
Due to Hurricane Ike, the downstairs units took a lot of damage so the decision was made to create one large 2 bedroom / 2 bath apt. The result was beautiful
well-appointed apt. that had the perfect balance of the old and the new, so I refer to the apt as 'Equinox' (or just apt #3).

The first bedroom has a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom has 2 twins and a queen sleeper in the living area to sleep 6 comfortably. Historic Haven by Beachbox is a charming 1900s historic home located in the heart of Galveston. A survivor of the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900, this home has a rich history and unique character. Enjoy staying at this extraordinary home and take advantage of its location, history, and appeal while making wonderful memories of your own.

The main house boasts 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full kitchen, office area, living and dining room. Sunbathe in the sunroom or take in the city by hanging out on the large deck overlooking the street.

Below the main house is a full studio apartment with a separate entrance, full bathroom, and kitchen.

Additionally, take advantage of the yoga studio imported from Bali to relax and reset.

Circa 1890 Victorian home separated into four units. Unit D is a studio apartment, which was recently fully updated. Spacious and clean, with, hotel quality bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, flat screen TV with ROKU/Netflix, and a coffee maker.

We are 5 short blocks to the beach and a 3 blocks to the Bryan museum. Conveniently located near the Pleasure Pier, Strand Historic District.

There is a free washer/dryer on site, and a back yard suitable for cooking out.

The apartment can be booked with other units in the building, which is an excellent option for accommodating large groups while maintaining some privacy. Each unit has its own private/secure entrance. Information is available upon request.

The space
Your room is a private suite on the main floor with its own attached bathroom. It’s well-separated for quiet and privacy—buffered from the kitchen by a closet and walls, from the master bedroom by a hall bathroom, and from the office by a hallway. You’ll enjoy a comfortable queen bed, natural light, and plantation shutters that offer excellent privacy and near-blackout conditions.

While there’s no desk in the room, several work-friendly spaces are available: you can use the home office, the kitchen table, or a quiet vacant space upstairs. If you're booking a longer work-related stay, we can provide a desk before your arrival upon request.

Wi-Fi speeds are outstanding, averaging 363 Mbps down and 367 Mbps up with 0% packet loss—perfect for video calls, remote work, or streaming. Whether you’re a travel nurse, digital nomad, or just looking for a quiet escape, you’ll have everything you need for a productive and restful stay.

We’ve recently installed a Schlage Encode smart lock on the front door. To create your custom entry code, please send us the phone number you’ll be traveling with. Your personal access code will be the last four digits of that number.

The entrance is located at the front of the house on Avenue M ½. Enter through the front gate and head straight up the stairs. We’ll meet you at check-in to say hello and make sure you’re all set. After that, you’ll be free to come and go using your custom code.

We come and go frequently, so you’ll likely see us around during your stay. We’re friendly, easygoing, and happy to chat—or give you space—whichever you prefer. Just let us know your comfort level, and we’ll follow your lead.

Coco, our sweet dog, may give a little growl when meeting new people, but she’s all bark and no bite. She warms up quickly and loves having guests around. If you need anything, we’re just a holler away—either in person or by phone.

Other things to note
Our home is professionally treated by pest control services. Because of Galveston’s coastal climate, you may occasionally see outdoor bugs—especially Palmetto bugs (large flying roaches). They are common in this area, particularly in older homes, and usually come looking for water. They’re harmless and not a sign of poor cleanliness. We take quick action if anything is spotted—just let us know. Locals like to call them “Galveston Ambassadors.”

The thermostat is located in the hallway and is preset to keep the house comfortably cool. We ask that guests do not adjust the thermostat. The house tends to stay cold, and we’ve provided plenty of blankets for your comfort.

If you’re headed to the beach, we have a few beach towels available upon request—just let us know and we’ll bring them out.

This is a historic home with original character and charm—tall ceilings, wood floors, and a few natural quirks. You may hear creaks or occasional sounds from the neighborhood; it's part of the charm and rhythm of Galveston life.

Pet Policy
We prefer not to host pets, but we’re open to requests on a case-by-case basis for a small fee. Any approved pet must be fully house-trained, calm, and not left unattended for extended periods.

Laundry
We currently do not have laundry facilities onsite. However, we’re happy to assist with laundry if needed. There are also several convenient laundromats nearby, and we’re working on adding full laundry access in the near future.

Smoking
Smoking is allowed outdoors only. Please be courteous and dispose of any waste properly.

Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are always appreciated, especially from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Whether you’re relaxing, working remotely, or just enjoying some peace and quiet—we aim to keep the atmosphere chill and respectful for everyone.
