- "We got there earlier than planned, but we were still able to keep ourselves busy because of the large variety of activities around, including the three pyramids, the ropes course w/ zipline, the paths, etc. I'd suggest this for a family with kids - there are numerous attractions to keep you busy for a full 24 hours. Checking in, the staff at the registration desk were very friendly and we were able to get our room within two short minutes. Communication in the hotel is very clear and fluent. The room was very clean and the views were unbelievable, with a large, unframed picture window giving us a stunning view of the harbor and a distant view of the ocean. The room's size was a pleasant surprise, being larger than expected. Service at the hotel was ongoing until late in the night, making it easy to schedule and plan out your day. The pool was gorgeous at night, with beautiful lights and poolside service, plus a swim-up bar for adults. Fireworks are displayed later in the evening on Friday and Saturday nights and can be seen both from the pool and your hotel room. Parking space was infinite and varies greatly - you can park either beside the hotel, at the front by the reception with easy-access, or at the back where there was a large parking garage with multiple levels. The beach is only 11 minutes away, being 3.1 miles away from Moody Gardens. I'd definitely suggest this hotel for anyone looking to spend time outdoors with their family."

Not to mention they need to maintain these rooms.. there was a broken lamp, fan, light, leg to the chair, fussiest and the hot water heater is so small it runs out on the first person to shower, so unless you want to take cold showers all week I would not recommend this place. I’m not a complaining person but my gosh it was one thing after another here. And lord don’t go to the office and ask for any help because they had no idea, you just have to keep calling a number to folks that are not even around here for help. You need to have people on site that can help. Ohhh and one more thing, you get 1 trash bag no matter how long you stay, 1 roll of paper towels, and 3 rolls of toilet paper. I’ve never stayed anywhere that limits you on that so small. We travel ALOT and by far this is the worst service I’ve ever received. 2 outa 10 star. The only thing about this place i liked was the convenience location wise. The place has tons of potential but needs to be kept up. "

The historic downtown strand and seawall are both walking distance. Bikes are also available. For a deposit we also have Paddle Boards for use.

Your host our environmentally conscious. We ask that you practice sustainable living as much as possible when our guest. Be mindful of energy and water consumption. This listing is a private room and ensuite bath inside a large historic home in Galveston. It is possible you will cross paths with other guests or tenants residing in other parts of the house when coming and going to your room; however, you may not encounter anyone else during your stay. The home is located in the heart of the east end historic district and is surrounded by gorgeous 19th century homes with ornate Victorian architecture! You will love the quiet neighborhood which is less than a mile from the cruise ship terminals and the historic strand dining and entertainment district.

Guests will have access to their private room and en suite bathroom as well as the front porch on the first floor. The 2nd floor porch is not available for guest use at this time.

This property is located on the second floor. It is not a good fit for guests traveling with heavy suitcases or those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
Although your suite has been completely updated, there are still many areas of this 150 year old home in need of updating and maintenance. We are working hard to restore the Thomas Goggan house to her original glory, and hope you will appreciate the opportunity to experience this historical gem! If you will be bothered by seeing some of the common areas of the home in a state of repair this may not be a good choice for your stay.
