The 3rd bedroom is through a “hidden door” to the basement that adults and kids alike found to be pretty neat. The house had all the basics linen, dishes, soap even paper towels and toilet paper. Not sure if we just got lucky or they are always that great at hosting :) There was a lot of clear communication for check in and check out which I always appreciate! "

This unit is located just one block away from the Damen Blue Line el subway station in the heart of the vibrant Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood. Less than 5 minute walking distance to some of the hottest restaurants, bars, and boutiques in Chicago. Located on a historic tree-lined street in a landmark district, our property is steps away to one of Chicago's coolest entertainment districts known for its local hipster culture, art community, nightlife, and food scene. You will have the privacy and quiet of a street filled with historic mansions in the old "Beer Baron Row" district. We are on the border of Bucktown; nearby neighborhoods include Ukrainian Village, Logan Square, and Lincoln Park. We are only 15 minutes from downtown Chicago; a 5 minute walk to the 606 Biking/Walking trail; 2 blocks from beautiful Wicker Park green space with children's park, gardens, baseball diamond, basketball court, etc.

The house itself needed a refresh with the paint definitely showing dirt and scuff marks, stained furniture, and a broken light fixture. The brownstone itself was mostly clean, but lacked in linens (example…one hand towel for 2nd story bathroom that services 4 people) and 5 hangers that were supposed to service 8 people. I think with a little work this place could be top notch as the location being so excellent."

We love hosting new guests, for security reasons, we just need to ensure you are real. You must provide a valid photo ID, or we may have to refuse your booking. By booking, you confirm you’re at least 25 years old—because we like to keep things above board, not a college dorm party.

The number of people on the property should match the number on your reservation. If you’re planning to invite extra guests, let us know at least 24 hours before they show up.

Parking:

Heads up: No parking spaces are included with any Chicago rentals. We have 2 parking spots available on-site for $35 per night. These spots are hotter than a downtown coffee shop, so they’re first come, first served—get in early, or risk the street!

For the adventurous parkers, we’ll send you a map of free nearby parking two weeks before your check-in. You’ll find this treasure map in your digital guidebook. Check out the SpotHero app for additional paid reserved parking in the area.

One last thing: BANGTEL is not liable for parking tickets, towing, or any damage. So, park smart and read the signs! Oh, and parking fees are non-refundable—because once your car’s parked, it’s part of the family.

Patio Backyard:

The back patio is a shared space between Aloha and Aloha 2.0—think of it as a peaceful hangout spot where everyone’s invited! Want the patio all to yourselves? No problem! Just ask us to reserve it for you, or go big and book both floors for the ultimate Aloha takeover. It’s free to reserve, but just remember, it’s first come, first served—so snag it early if you can.

Furry Friends & Service Animals:

Pets stay with us for FREE! (Yep, you read that right—no extra charge for your four-legged buddy!) Please just let us know if you’re bringing along your furry friend, so we can ensure everything is all set.

We love your furry pals, but they need to be house-trained before they check in. (No one wants an impromptu “indoor water feature” on the rug.)
Our beds and couches are super comfy, but we kindly ask your pet to respect the boundaries.

Please scoop up after your pets and we kindly request that they not be left unattended.

If your pet does decide to redecorate with some furniture damage or starts a neighborhood concert (aka noisy complaints), we’ll have to ask you to foot the bill for repairs.

Cleanup:

Please leave the property in the same condition as when you arrived.

Dispose of all trash in the correct receptacles outside (they’re clearly marked, so no need to guess). If you use the wrong one, you might discover an unexpected fine.

Leave furniture where you found it or move it back if you do.

Before you go, turn off all lights, shut windows, and lock the doors. Think of it like tucking the house in for the night.

Smoking:

SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE PROPERTY. There’s a $1,000 charge if you’re caught smoking indoors or if we can still smell last night’s smoke after you’ve checked out (we’re very sensitive like that and the next guests checking in may be too). Feel free to light up outside, but be a good sport and please dispose of your cigarette butts properly. Let’s keep the property looking and smelling fresh. We appreciate you!

Party Glitter + Confetti:

PARTY GLITTER OR CONFETTI IS NOT ALLOWED. Sure, glitter and confetti are the life of the party, but they’re also the nightmare of cleanup. It’s like trying to catch a rainbow in a vacuum cleaner.

If you bring glitter or confetti inside the property (or anywhere on the premises), we’ll charge you a $250 fee. Consider it a "glitter tax" for making us battle with tiny sparkly bits for days.

Photoshoots:

No professional photos or videos allowed without BANGTEL’s prior written permission. We love a good Insta moment, but if you’re planning to turn the property into your personal photo studio, please give us a heads up first! Make sure to let us know before booking or right after, and we'll let you know if special rates, fees, or conditions apply.

If a photo or video shoot happens without our approval, we’ll charge a fee at our discretion. Not sure if your photography is a professional shoot? Don’t worry, we’re happy to review your work! We promise we’re more lenient than magazine editor, but we still need to know what’s going on behind the lens.

Special Occasions:

Planning to host an event, like a wedding, corporate function, bridal party, or any shindig involving guests not listed in your reservation? Well, unless you're planning a surprise "Party of the Year" with us as your co-host, you’ll need prior written permission from BANGTEL. No impromptu events—this isn’t the venue for a flash mob, no matter how fun that sounds!

Additional fees apply for hosting special occasions, so let us know in advance and we’ll work out the details. We love a good celebration, but we also love keeping property in tip-top shape.

Be a Good Neighbor:

Please respect the other tenants and neighbors—after all, we're all in this together. No noise in or around the property (including hallways and common areas), and please keep your music at a level that doesn’t make the neighbors think they’ve accidentally wandered into a concert.
After 10 p.m let’s keep the volume low enough to hear the crickets, not the bass.

Bunk Beds:

Heads up—this unit may contain bunk beds, and while they’re perfect for feeling like a kid again, they do come with a little responsibility. By using the bunk beds, you agree to hold the host harmless for any damage or injury caused by your daring, gravity-defying moves.

Aloha Bathtub in Primary Bedroom Ensuite Bathroom:

As much as we wish we could let you sink into the large, inviting blue bathtub in the primary bedroom ensuite, it’s actually for decorative purposes ONLY—no splashing around, sorry!

Please, do not run the water (as tempting as it may be to channel your inner mermaid).

Also, this tub has a weight limit of 250 lbs. So, while it’s perfect for admiring, it’s not built for a full-on soak session with all your friends. Let’s leave it as the beautiful bath decor it was meant to be!

Unique Bucktown loft studio on the top floor of a restored vintage Chicago building, central to Bucktown & Wicker Park. This 1895 building and loft has been restored and renovated with a brand new kitchen and bath with walk-in shower, central heat & AC. The unit is incredibly bright with windows on each and 5 skylights throughout.

Basic housekeeping included in stays over 45 days (every 3-4 weeks; not including laundry).

The space is a large studio (about 800 sq ft) - with no walls between rooms/spaces (except the bathroom). The loft is on the 4th floor of a walk-up building (no elevator).

The space is has a full kitchen, walk-in shower with glass enclosure, and in-unit washer dryer. The California King bed is on one side of the loft, with the living and dining area in the middle, and kitchen and bath on the other end. The private porch off the entrance has tree-top views of downtown Chicago.

* Lockouts & lost keys – A $150 lockout fee applies per occurrence. Lost keys or remotes will incur a $50 replacement fee each.

Enter your unit to find a communal table that serves as a workspace by day and dining table for 4 by night. Move over to the living room where you can relax on comfortable couches during a movie on the 50" smart tv. The newly remodeled bathroom features a walk-in shower, custom bamboo storage shelving and faux greenery. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and kitchenware along with a coffee maker, microwave, gas stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. Skimping on the beds is an unforgivable sin. Which is why both bedrooms feature premium mattresses, pillows and bedding along with blackout curtains to ensure your sleep goes uninterrupted.

Unique Bucktown loft studio on the top floor of a restored vintage Chicago building, central to Bucktown & Wicker Park. This 1895 building and loft has been restored and renovated with a brand new kitchen and bath with walk-in shower, central heat & AC. The unit is incredibly bright with windows on each and 5 skylights throughout.

Basic housekeeping included in stays over 45 days (every 3-4 weeks; not including laundry).

The space
The space is a large studio (about 800 sq ft) - with no walls between rooms/spaces (except the bathroom). The loft is on the 4th floor of a walk-up building (no elevator).

The space is has a full kitchen, walk-in shower with glass enclosure, and in-unit washer dryer. The California King bed is on one side of the loft, with the living and dining area in the middle, and kitchen and bath on the other end. The private porch off the entrance has tree-top views of downtown Chicago.

Guests will have access to the full unit and private rear deck off the entry. The patio on the ground level is shared by all tenants in the building (there are 5 total units in the building, with this being the entirety of the top floor).

Note: we may periodically access locked storage closets in the unit for maintenance purposes during your stay. We will always provide at least 24 hour notice, unless there is a maintenance emergency.

Comfortable living room with plenty of seating and HD TV with Roku streaming player and Hulu/Netflix. The large couch is a queen sized sleeper sofa (with bedding) that includes a great chaise lounge. Perfect for relaxing!

Updated kitchen with new appliances (refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker). There are frying pans, pots, utensils, plates (service for 8), etc. there’s a breakfast bar table with two stools or a 6 seat dining table in the dining room.

This cozy garden apartment is perfect for a weekend get away with your special someone, or to serve as a relaxing home base during a busy work week while traveling away from home. This unit was recently fully rehabbed and designed with greenery galore to remind you that even the city can feel like a lush garden hideaway. The living room has a queen size pullout couch with a memory foam mattress topper, so if you are traveling with children or friends, you can rest assured everyone will be sleeping in comfort. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your cooking needs if you decide to stay in; however, we highly recommend exploring the local neighborhood as some of the best bars and restaurants in the world are all less than a 10 minute walk from your stay. If you do choose to drive or rent a car, there is ample street parking in our neighborhood that doesn't require any additional payment.

Your entry is the bottom door of the building which has keyless entry. There is free street parking available on adjacent streets if you have a vehicle.

Other things to note
One thing to be aware of is that the garden unit doesn’t have its own thermostat, so in the summer the AC tends to keep it pretty cool, and in the winter it may get a little warm, so feel free to use the windows or radiators to make the unit more comfortable for your personal temperature preferences. I am also happy to adjust the central air temperature if you’d like, just shoot us a message and I am happy to accommodate. My home is also over 100 years old which means the floors can be creaky at times. I do provide ear plugs incase you are a light sleeper as the floors as well as the furnace can sometimes be a tad noisy.
