But, despite its industrial and commercial draws, it's mostly a blossoming residential area home to Chicagoans who want easy access to the city but having a quiet neighborhood to call their own. Brighton Park attracts folks from all across the city looking for a true community to call home.

Ride-sharing apps or public transportation is what we recommend especially if you plan on going into the city where parking is hard and/or expensive to find. A train ride is often faster than driving during peak traffic hours and maximizing your time in the area is key during a short stay.

2. No additional visitors - Only those listed on the reservation may enter the property. Any additional visitors must be declared and pre-approved.

3. Respect quiet hours - Keep noise levels down, especially between 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Failure to respect quiet hours or disturbances from an unauthorized gathering will result in termination of the reservation without refund and may result in additional fines to pay city tickets or HOA fines for violations.

4. Check-out on time - Please vacate the unit and return any issued keys by the agreed check-out time. Late check-outs will incur a $250 fee.

5. No smoking - Smoking of any kind is prohibited inside the unit and on the building premises. Evidence of smoking, including odor, will result in a $500 remediation charge. Local laws also prohibit smoking within 15 feet of any entrance.

6. Lockouts & lost keys - A $150 lockout fee applies per occurrence. Lost keys or remotes will incur a $50 replacement fee each.

7. Lost & found - We are not responsible for lost items. If something is left behind, we will attempt to locate it and ship it at your expense. Please check all drawers and closets before departure.

Continuing down the hall is the primary bedroom that features a comfy queen bed and an en-suite full bathroom. The primary bedroom also has a large walk in closet that is perfect for storing your luggage and other travel items. Towards the back of the apartment is the 2nd bedroom which features a queen bed as well as a trundle bed. Just off the back door to the apartment is a laundry area and an outdoor stairway down to the parking pad located behind the house.

The Neighborhood:
Located just west of the Chicago Loop, the Near West Side is a thriving neighborhood of young working adults and first-time homeowners. An economic boom along with rapid construction is taking place throughout the neighborhood due to its close proximity to downtown and the popular United Center event arena. Sure you can see the Chicago Bulls play a couple blocks from your front door, but the rest of the area is nothing to scoff at. Cute, family-owned coffee shops and bakeries are a good balance to the massive live concert shows held at the neighborhood's namesake 25,000-seat, indoor venue. A couple trendy lounges keep the nightlife exciting in United Center Park, but the daytime is hopping with great lunch spots and a small, yet sufficient selection of retail outlets.

The unit is located on the top floor of a three story building. There are two parking spaces located behind the building that is dedicated to the Airbnb.

- "Apt was clean, great neighborhood. Had a great stay." - "There were 4 of us in town for the Justin Timberlake concert. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the accommodations. The only big negative was the downstairs neighbor's dog!!! It did not appear friendly and was free roaming when we arrived home from the concert. No one was supervising the dog but luckily it went inside on its own so we were able to close the downstairs gate and run inside. Otherwise this is a great location if you plan to walk to the United Center for an event!!!"

The apartment is not sound proof. You can sometimes hear the noise from passing cars if you have the windows open. It's not loud but noise exists. We just want you to know about it in case you require absolute silence during the day.

The property IS ADA accessible. We have an elevator at the front gate and the 1st floor apartment is accessible by wheelchair. Just let us know what your needs are ahead of time so we can get you access to the elevator key or leave it on for you. The property is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and evacuation maps in case of an emergency.

The apartment has been recently updated with central heating and air conditioning for the conviene of our guests, so you can get a good night sleep without feeling too cold or too hot. If even then you want more air we also provide portable fans (found in the closets). However, because utilities are not cheap we do ask windows are kept close while the central heating and/or air conditioning are on or you will incur an additional $25 fee per night during your stay. We are more than welcome to turn the central system off upon your request, which can be done virtually.

If you need a babysitter, my mother lives upstairs and can babysit children for $20 an hour. She is very experienced at babysitting and currently is raising a 9 year old. We would just need advance notice from our guests. There is a cat upstairs so if your child is allergic to cats, it wouldn’t work out.

Chicago is a major urban city and you should always take precautions when walking around the city. If you are walking at night, pay attention to your surroundings and be safe. If heading downtown at night or coming home late, take a Lyft and pay just a few dollars to quickly and safely get to and from the train station in a matter of minutes. These tips apply in every Chicago neighborhood, even downtown on Michigan Avenue.

In the sheet will be a box for your signature, please sign it. Then just leave it on the living room table and we will collect it when you check out.

A private bedroom in a three bedroom apartment located in Chicago's Marshall Square/Pilsen/Douglas Park neighborhood. Please contact me before requesting a reservation so we can discuss whether this is a good fit for you.

The space
The apartment was completely renovated recently and is located on the second floor of a three story century old vintage brick building, locally known as a three flat. Redone in the style of a "soft loft" the unit has 10 foot ceilings, spiral duct work, newly refinished hardwood maple floors and an exposed brick wall in the kitchen.

This bedroom is one of three in the apartment and has a extra long twin bed, a desk and a closet and a small dresser.

The apartment is shared- at a maximum - with two others. Each guest has their own bedroom. Each bedroom door has a keyed lock. The bedrooms are small, but the apartment is large, open and bright. The storage in the bedroom is not cluttered with other people's belongings. It's empty and entirely available for your use.

The apartment is located a block from the California Pink Line elevated stop which is less than 20 minutes from the Loop. There also is a Divvy bike share station at the El stop. There are two grocery stores, a Walmart, a Planet Fitness, and many restaurants within a short walking distance from the building. I am a block away from Douglass Park and three blocks away from the Laguinitas Brewery and Cinespace film studios.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the apartment living room, the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen is fully furnished with all new appliances (range, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher) pots, pans, dishes, eating utensils, rice cooker and electric kettle.

For medical students completing a clinical rotation: St. Anthony's Hospital is around the corner, Mt. Sinai Hospital is six blocks away, and the Illinois Medical District (Rush, University of Illinois, Stroger and Jesse Brown Hospitals) are just 4 stops away (8 minutes) on the Pink line El .

There is a bus stop conveniently located that takes you directly to the city. There are dozens of restaurants you can walk to. Laundry facility at the end of the street.
The home itself is cozy and fully renovated. There are cameras on the outside of the home.

The space
It is a 2 unit home. This home has been recently renovated. There is 2 separate floors with separate entrance). You will be in the 1st floor unit. You will have your own entrance and keypad passcode for your home. You have access to everything in the unit. The kitchen is fully equipt. We have a dining table and living room with cable TV and WiFi.

The hosts family resides in the upper level they have there own entrance on the opposite side of the house. With the host and spouse living upstairs, normal Noises such as walking /foot steps may be heard. Our dog is a sweet senior Shih’Tzu who is 17 years old.

Please, ABSOLUTELY NO drugs, alcohol or smoking permitted in the premises. This includes VAPING. A $250.00 will be charged if this rule is broken.

You will enjoy this home. A few houses from ours, there is a great Mexican restaurant that we love. If not, we are just 2 blocks away from 26th street which is full of restaurants options. There is a few family owned shopping stores Incase you need food/treats, etc. There is also an Aldi store if you prefer that. While we do not offer any washer and dryer, at the end of the street there is a laundry mat you can walk to. You do not even need to leave the house at all since everything is within grasp. Although you may want to go out and enjoy our beautiful city, the options are there just in case.
