- "Adolfo was great providing food when we arrived on a Sunday evening. Facilities are excellent. Highly recommended " - "Stopped for two nights with my husband on a motorbike trip to the Picos. We loved staying here. We had a beautiful balcony view looking out on to farm land and mountains and could hear the birds singing. So tranquil. Loved all the geranium window boxes. So pretty. Staff were very friendly and we got by with speaking English and a little Spanish! The accommodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We could have parked the bike in the garage as pre arranged but felt it was safe to leave the bike at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, not a cooked breakfast , apart from fried eggs and pancakes on one day but plenty of choice and delicious. The restaurant for an evening meal was in a separate building up a hill on the other side of the road. It was only open 1 of the two nights we were there but the quality of the food was excellent and generous portions. The hotel was a perfect position for exploring the Picos and we preferred the more tranquil spot rather than stopping in Potes. Found it a bit tricky to find the entrance to the hotel at first. Think cars had to park on roadside but we could park the bikes in front of the property which was excellent. Wish we'd booked another night. Would I stay again...Yes, definitely. Sad to leave ."

- "X" - "Normal " - "As a family of 5 it's difficult to find suitable (and relatively inexpensive) accommodation so we were pleased with this place! We booked this apartment as an alternative to nearby hotels and found the accommodation much more flexible. It was a bit tricky to find so make sure you print out a detailed map. Our apartment block was at the bottom of a steep hill, and part of an aparthotel complex. We visited the hotel for a very good buffet tea - all you can eat - including salad bar, meats, fish, pasta, bread, soup, chips and desert, with a bottle of wine and water all for 12 euros per adult and children cheaper/free! The apartment was clean and comfortable - nothing flashy, but had all you need for a night with plenty of towels and clean bedding. We used the pool near the hotel but later discovered one next to our apartment. Very quick into Santander too so ideal to catch the ferry."

The bus stop to the city centre is right outside the apartment so very easy to go around the city. The only negative we found was that the bathroom was not very clean. There was hair on the floor and on the bin, the floor looked like it had not been washed at all, and the shower looked quiet dirty. - "The Santander ferry arrived 2 hours late - meaning we missed the 8pm checkin at the hotel. No matter - as we’d emailed Hector, who had a plan B and we were easily able to get the keys. We stayed in the family room, which was two good-sized bedrooms -and a bathroom - accessed through one front door. Perfect! Decent continental breakfast with friendly service in a garden room the next morning. The coffee was great and the kids loved their not chocolates. There are stunning views over the hills from the windows. The inn is properly rural. We woke to the sound of cockerels crowing. But it being Spain, they were kind enough to wait till 8am. The villlage of Vispieres has a couple of bars, but there isn’t a huge amount going on. It’s about 2k to the beautiful,if frantic, Santillana del Mar, which is on the pilgrim trail. We went the other way - to Puente San Miguel - for dinners out. The inn is very close to the Altamira caves and about 7k from the beach at Suances. Recommended!"

- "Everything was excelent. Only problem was lack of instructions on checking in. We arrived in the evening and it was raining. The only negative for us was the poorly appointed kitchen with no oven, just a tiny microwave and a hob. Very basic kitchen utensils eg no kettle, cheese grater etc. meant that food preparation was often difficult. Use of the well-maintained swimming pool was good. WiFi is only available in the hotel lobby. I would be happy to recommend this hotel overall as the location is good and Comillas is one of the nicest towns on this coast."

The cleaning lady was the only one to ask for a cup of coffee in the morning and it took her about 10 minutes. The clerk came in after we finished the coffee to collect 1.25€ for each coffee. No restaurants nearby.If using a satnav to find the hotel, make sure the maps are updated* as the second to last road before the hotel's road is closed. *mine was not, so had to figure out another route."

- "Clean and very light just renovated apartment." - "Difficult to locate, parking is a long walk away up and down cobble-stone streets, check-in is complicated, the apartment name is not as advertised, the nearby church bells sound on the hour. Given the cost and problems it is not good value for money - better to stay at the nearby Parador. Can fully recommend Santillana." - "Where do I start? First, the positives which were very few. Very warm welcome by a lovely lady, nicely decorated rooms, lovely big bed, good shower. On the negative side, very difficult to find and had to park in an unsecured public car park half a mile away with narrow cobbled streets to negotiate. Breakfast served in room and left the night before was virtually inedible - stale bread and cakes, tea but no kettle, fruit way past its sell by date including black bananas. No air con and very hot and stuffy. Top floor, lots of stairs and no lift. However, all this pales into insignificance compared to the church bells. If you are travelling a long way and breaking the journey, the one thing that you need is a good night’s sleep. This hotel is situated right next to a church and the bells ring every hour and half hour - on the hour they double up so at 11pm 22 rings and at midnight 24 rings and so on all through the night - and they are very loud. This is a beautiful old town but there was no indication of any of these issues on the website so a woeful lack of information that is vitally important for any traveller. Very disappointed."

The space
It is a bright, large and comfortable room with a large window overlooking the main street in a completely central area of Santander, which allows you to move around the city both on foot and by public transport, with 1 135 cm bed and large built-in closet as you can see in the photo.

The room is exactly the one in the photo and consists of everything that looks like it and also the door has a lock that is given to the guest in the room as soon as they arrive so that they have the option of being able to lock it every time they leave the house.

The mattress is very little used and is of medium firmness and has mattress protector which is washed at the exit of each guest.

From the room you can also access the high speed wiffi ( Vodafone) that the apartment has and which I provide the password on arrival.

The common areas to share are the living room, kitchen and bathroom and are fully equipped.

A spacious living room with a large corner couch ( not a sofa bed) with a tea table, and a large dining table. Flat screen TV and a large piece of furniture with books etc......

The newly renovated bathroom is also shared. It is a fully equipped bathroom that is shared with one or two other people( depending on the time of year) who each stay in a room. It consists of a shower with glass screen, toilet and sink. It has enough space for the guest to place their toiletries if they want. The price also includes the use of shampoo and gel found in the bathroom.

The guest, apart from preparing breakfast, is also entitled to use the kitchen to prepare something light for lunch or dinner during their stay, provided that the kitchen is left in the same condition in which it was found and the utensils they have used are scrubbed. The kitchen is not renovated but has a washing machine, refrigerator, ceramic hob, microwave, coffee maker ( electric and Italian), toaster..... in addition to pots, dishes, forks, glasses..... even an electric iron.

The accommodation and price include a breakfast consisting of coffee, tea or cocoa accompanied by a piece of cake ( muffin, crescent or similar ) and prepared by the guest.
I try to make the guests feel like in their own home. Although I do not live in the apartment, I try to help you whenever you ask me by providing you with so much information to move around the city, recommendations for restaurants, places of interest, places to enjoy nightlife, plans or streets, etc... always avoiding any interference in your privacy.

Other things to note
It simply requires a cordial and civic behavior with the rest of the people both at home and on the portal. It is a very quiet apartment in which it is requested to respect that tranquility without making too much noise and especially respecting the hours of rest of the rest of the guests.
