There is a pharmacy close by, a hospital, and willemstaad within walking distance. We watched cruise ships come and go which was fun- they do block the water view a bit, but not totally. Overall, 9/10 for this great resort. Staff were helpful and pleasant as well and I'd highly recommend. "

The pool areas are very nice, both the salt and fresh water pool. Staff are very friendly. I would stay here again. I liked the location and easy pickup for tours. What I didn't like was my room was on the 4th floor above the ballroom and there were events happening Friday and Saturday night. The music was very loud, especially Saturday night until late. If I get to return, I would make my room was no where near the ballroom. I had a early Sunday pickup and you could not do anything about the noise. Other than that, the hotel seemed to be quiet."

All the restaurants also were decently priced for a resort restaurant. The Garden Apartments area was beautifully maintained and the pool was clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay! "

There are kids zooming around going to the pools, and isnt what I would consider fancy or romantic. I went with my 2 year old who really mostly hung out in the 2 kid pools, but the other pools were cool too. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the snack bar food was included, the buffet for all meals was included and all drinks (including cocktails) were available. I even had mimosas with breakfast every morning! The buffet was basic but hearty with plenty of options. (Only thing I would NOT recommend was the sushi restaurant). The resort was clean and beautiful. There were plenty of lounge chairs. We loved the live music at night. There was a kids club as well. Rooms were very spacious."

- "First of all, although the Jan Thiel area overall is nicer, as a resort Blue Bay is great. It’s nice, safe and close to town. The check in experience was the worst: they weren’t expecting us (even though their own print out said check in on the 16th, they had written 17 on the paper). The property manager was quickly cleaning the unit (it wasn’t dirty but maybe not used for a little while). Worst of all they then told us that at the mid point of our stay we would have to move as somebody else would be given the unit. They claimed to have communicated this via email with Expedia (I know hotels.com is owned by them but this was odd). Of course they couldn’t share email history. I pushed back aggressively and on the day of (as they still had not communicated anything), told them they would have to bring the police as I could prove that I paid for the 3 bedroom villa and wasn’t moving. And of course we had plans that day. So only last minute on the day of, they send me a brief email that we could stay (and we wouldn’t have moved). So next time I would book local for this property to avoid these issues)."

- "The house itself is great, a little rundown, and in desperate need of upgrades and maintenance (4 out of 6 lights were out in one of the bathrooms). The amenities list a pool or pool access at a neighboring property, it was simply just crossed out in the guide, and we had no pool access. The washer didn’t work, and noone communicated back with us on whether it got fixed after we brought it to their attention. The TV provider hadn’t been paid, so the TV didn’t work. We also surprised to learn that the house came with no extra toilet paper, trashbags, handsoap for all bathrooms and not even salt and pepper in the kitchen cabinets. The staff will pick you up at the airport and drive you 0.5 mile down the road where you will be given the keys and the car with no long lines or contracts. The cars are great and the owner is responsive to any issues with the car.

Bonnie,the owner, was great through the entire process of booking, adding another person to our trip, and offering suggestions. She’s put in a lot of work into making suggestions on where to go and maximizing your enjoyment while staying on the island with a book located in the place. Utilize this and it’ll be your guide/friend. The place itself is located about 45 from the airport- north/west end of the island. The location is prime and near some of the most beautiful beaches. There are a set of stairs right past the restaurant that leads you down to the lagoon below and we enjoyed the beach and swimming with turtles. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms and the unit is open and airy-we loved the vaulted ceilings. The unit was hot when when arrived, but the air conditioners work fast and are already preset to a comfortable temperature for you. They’ve supplied enough towels for each guest to use (no laundry services, but you can easily take it in to have it done for you for an affordable cost). They also have a couple beach chairs for you to use, some floaters and pool noodles. We took advantage of these:) The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The balcony is huge and we really enjoyed sitting outside at night enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Plenty of seating for large groups. Overall, we loved staying here and plan to return in the future!"
