Other things to note
River Crossing, Tirthan Valley

River crossing in the Tirthan Valley is an adventure sport for people who are looking for some adrenaline rush in the quiet valley. A person is tied to a safety harness and slides from one point to the other, with the turbulent Tirthan river gushing underneath. The icy cold spray of the river while taking on the sport, sure is a motivating factor for enthusiasts.

Jibhi, Tirthan Valley

Often referred to as a mesmerizing "hamlet" situated amidst the lush green forests and surrounded by variegated mountains, Jibhi is located in the Tirthan Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The dense pine forests, tranquil freshwater lakes and pristine temples make this place worth visiting. You will be spellbound after visiting this place and would not want to leave it. The cozy Victorian-style cottages in which you can stay are an added bonus that makes you feel as if you are living in the Victorian Period. So enjoy a cup of chai while listening to the sweet chirpings of the birds in the lap of nature.

Jibhi Waterfall

The Jibhi Waterfall is hidden inside the forest that cannot be seen until you are well inside the dense forest. The gushing of water flows like music and makes the whole place enchanting. Small wooden bridges are built near the waterfall that provides a picturesque view of the place. So, sit near the waterfall and enjoy the music of nature.

Jalori Pass, Shoja

Nestled in the peaks of northern Himalayas lies the Jalori mountain pass, located between the districts of Kullu and Shimla. Perhaps one would recognise it better as the snow-covered summit in the Bollywood film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", where actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are seen trekking through the mountainside. The pass opens in the second week of March and shuts down in December due to snowfall.

Situated at a height of 10,800 feet above sea level, Jalori Pass is located at a distance of 5 kilometres from Shoja. The leading road is narrow and extremely steep, not to mention uneven and full of potholes, making it a bumpy ride and sometimes it becomes difficult to drive the car even in first gear. Vehicles are prone to slipping due to frost during the winter, even after machines have swept away the snow.

The Jalori Pass Trek that starts from here is a moderate level trek seated amidst vast coniferous forests, and can be best covered between the seasons of mid-June to mid-October when traversing through the snow is an easy feat. The path leads to the nearby Serolsar Lake and 'Budhi Naagin' temple.

Serolsar Lake, Shoja

Serolsar Lake, another major attraction of the village is located about 5 km from Jalori Pass. The lake has clear water which remains so despite of several leaves falling in to it.

The place is better known for its temple devoted to Goddess Budhi Nagin. It is believed that the Goddess has hundred sons and acts as a guardian of the place. The walk to the lake is equally enchanting from Jalori pass, with thick cover of oak trees.

Waterfall Point, Shoja

A long silent walk through the nature with gurgling sound of water can do wonder to your senses. At a mere distance of 1 Km from Shojha, the waterfall point is a magical journey that spellbinding and beautiful.

A best place for your morning walk, you will find the water of the fall sweet and cold. Make sure you do not miss this place at any cost!

Raghupur Fort, Shoja

Raghupur Fort is a historic place which is believed to be built by Mandi rulers, to protect themselves from the invasion. Today, nothing much is left of it except the outer portion of the walls.

However, what makes visiting this fort more fun is the way to reach it. A walk or rather a climb of 3 Kms from Jalori Pass, the path gets steeper during last kilometer. The way is covered with lush green oaks and rhododendrons with great Himalayas in backdrop. A small pond is present within the premises of the fort.
