- "Beautiful setting, great service and lovely staff " - "This is an upmarket hotel but NOT adults only and is also pet friendly. So if you want tranquility around the pool area (which is normally lovely) you may well achieve this or on occasion you may find children playing in the pool, a random cat which people obviously feed and on one day a dog running around off a leash. Not easy to relax when a wet muzzle could be in your face at any moment. It is also worth mentioning there is no air conditioning. However if you don’t mind all of that, this is a truly, truly fantastic place. The employees are simply excellent - attentive, professional, courteous, thoughtful and proactive. Food and wine is extremely good. Dinner has a limited menu but only an issue if you stayed for 8 nights like we did. Having some of these dishes more than once is hardly a problem though! You get what you pay for - this is a very expensive venue, especially if you choose to eat and drink here a lot but it is high end and we will absolutely be back. Ps some other reviews mention hot rooms and road noise - we experienced both but it did not detract from our enjoyment. Fans are provided in the room and a day in the fresh air and plenty of vino ensured a peaceful and uninterrupted sleep !"

- "Delicious food and comfortable bed" - "From the moment we walked through the door we were treated with respect and politeness. All of the members of staff we met were friendly and helpful. They elevated our stay from wonderful to outstanding. The hotel is clean with excellent facilities, the pool and spa areas are just what you need after a busy day of sightseeing. The rooms are spacious and clean with tea and coffee and buscuits. Water is delivered daily and the minibar is well stocked. There are complimentary toiletries and a very useful shoe shiner (very useful after a long and dusty walk). The hirel is ideally located and is minutes away from the marina, Maritime Museum, Jersey Museum and Liberation Station. We can't wait to come back. "

- "Excellent location for a visit to Jersey. All staff friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet was amazing and freshly cooked. Rooms were bigger than normal and the view of the sea and marina added to the experience." - "I booked one of the Panorama suites, and we were alocated 425 which was probably the best of the bunch having superb views over the harbour and beach. One of the main things we noticed was how quiet the room was - silent ! I had considered some of the other main hotels in St Helier, but on arrival these were right next to the busy main road which was very noisy, so glad I chose the Radisson as its away from the main road. The room was superb. I consider myself "fussy" but the room was perfect. The bed was HUGE - Super king meant my wife and I could sleep stretched out and have loads of room. The bed was comfortable firm foam and the aircon was excellent at keeping us cool (also whisper quiet). having a fridge and a decent coffee machine was great. Breakfast was probably one of the best I have had - everything you could wish for. TIP: if you want eggs other than scrambled - you ask for these on arrival. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was excellent - we dined in St Helier most nights. Superb hotel, wouldnt hesitate to recommend. Yes its a little more expensive, but for the views and peace - well worth it."

Whilst bar and restaurant is expensive, the quality of drinks and food was exceptional. only downside was Sauna was out of action in the Spa, and there are no seating areas around the indoor pool. Staff very friendly and helpful" - "In the centre of town with bus station below which was ideal for getting around the island, Great eateries on your doorstep. Loads of shops all within walking distance. With the apartment being above the bus station it was a little noisy early morning but not excessive. " - "Front desk persons very helpful. Kitchenette well-stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, cooking tools. Apartment also came equipped with some tablets for washer, liquid dish soap, paper towels, as well as some coffee, tea, milk (in fridge). Rooms were quiet. Good area. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Also having a garage was a bonus and it certainly challenges ones reversing abilities! There were one or two slight problems. The toilet seat in the en suite is cracked and caused a painful posterior so had to sit on the bowl! Also the drainage in the shower is very slow so was paddling in a couple of inches of water! Waste bins in the bathrooms would be useful and in the kitchen we found a few issues eg. Broken potato masher , colander and broken scissors. A toast rack would be a good addition. However these small criticisms did not spoil a wonderful stay at 6 Columbus street!"

Situated on a pretty lane in one of the more secluded parts of rural Jersey and just a 15-minute walk to beautiful 5-mile St Ouen's beach - this former dower house creates an idyllic 2-bedroomed self-catering bolthole to "get away from it all".
The Property:
On the ground floor level is a modern fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine with dryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen has a dining table to seat 5 as well as a small computer/writing desk.
The 2 double bedrooms are upstairs. One has a standard double bed and a sitting area, the other has 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a superking size double on request. A single folding camp bed and a cot are also available on request. Both rooms have built in wardrobes / drawers and lovely views over surrounding countryside.
Also upstairs is the bathroom with its separate walk-in power shower cubicle, full length bath, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail.
The property has its own entrance and forms part of a series of neighbouring historic granite buildings surrounding a shared parking area. There is an allocated parking space for 1 car directly beside the entrance.
The Neighbourhood:
The property is situated in St Ouen's parish in the north-west of Jersey, among a network of tranquil green-lanes that provide plenty of opportunity to walk, cycle or horse-ride away from the busier main roads.
The local area is primarily agricultural with most fields planted with Jersey Royals (the island's famous potato) or home to Jersey cows and racehorses (the island's racecourse is nearby).
Jersey's scenic cliff paths, the nearby surfing beaches of St Ouen's Bay and Plenmont Bay as well as Grosnez Castle, German military bunkers / towers and various historic dolmen are all within a 30 minute walk.
St Ouen's village with its two local supermarkets, pharmacy, ATM and filling station is a 5 minute drive, the airport 15 minutes drive and the main town of St Helier (and the ferry terminal) a 20 minute drive away.
Getting Around:
A car is highly recommended as the easiest way to get to / from the property and to explore the island. There is off-street parking for 1 car right outside. The nearest filling station and electric vehicle fast-charging point is 1 mile away.
Bus Stop "Millais", on Route 8, is a 5 minute walk from the house - this has services every 1-2 hours during the day to/from St Helier via St Ouen's village. Bus Stop "Mont Huelin", on Route 22, is a 10 minute walk - this has services every hour during the day to/from St Helier via St Brelade. Liberty Bus website provides schedules for these routes and onward connections.
I can provide details of local taxi firms who can quote for individual journeys or specialist tours.
I also have contact details for a local bike rental business. Bicycles are great for exploring the immediate area but unless you are a keen road cyclist you will probably find it too long a journey to cycle to the island's main attractions and towns.
- "Booked this property for a 'staycation' and much needed break from busy jobs. The accommodation was exactly as advertised and very comfortable with everything we needed. A minor issue with the heating was attended to within hours of me advising the owner of the problem. The location is very quiet and peaceful and I would certainly recommend a hire car for ease of getting around the island, but the green lanes do take a bit of getting used to - particularly at night as there is no street lighting."

- "They had no record of our booking, even though it was fully paid making check in a little fraught. None of the promissed welcome package was forthcoming. Room was clean and adequate, but washer/dryer was useless. Didn't wash properly and didn't dry at all. View was good, overlooking marina and docks. Room was quiet, even though it was near a loud restaurant. No disturbances. "

You will find yourself very comfortable in this charming, newly redecorated, open plan apartment with everything you need on your doorstep. Some of the amenities available are more than 15 bars and restaurants, main bus route (airport-St.Helier)beaches, cycle tracks and walking paths are all within 2-5 minute walk.
The space
Parking is available a short walk from the apartment entrance. It is a public car park and there is a charge for parking, but reasonably priced at about £6 per day, £1 per 2 hours. The bus is only a few minutes walk away and this could be described as a 'city centre' location, but in the village of St Aubin. Central and in the middle of the hussle and bustle that St Aubin brings. But nothing compared to the big cities in the UK or other major cities around the world. This is island life!
Other things to note
Please be aware the flat is above a popular traditional real ale pub. The entrance and windows are at the front of the pub and can be busy at times. The pub closes at 11pm and there are no transport links from near the entrance so most customers are gone by 11h30 to get a bus.
