However, they make up with excellent, friendly and authentic service. Staffs (Hotna, Wiwik, Gin etc) are very warm and welcoming and you could tell that they are very genuine. My family was initially not quite happy with the condition of the rooms but the Management was quick to change for us on the next day. Very proactive and attentive. Otherwise, do not expect too much as this is a very resort style decoration. Cassia, which is next door and was opened in 2017, seems more trendy. In terms of dining options, this is quite okay as visitors can always go the neighbouring Banyan Tree Resort or Cassia in addition to the two restaurants/cafe located within the property. The private beach is very well maintained. Scenery is superb, so this is a perfect venue for a short getaway with laid back atmosphere. We tried the Angsana Spa and were very happy and impressed. Everything was so on point and the skills of the spa therapists (Tati and Rose) are one of the best I have come across. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay for my family. Hope to visit this resort again soon."

- "Peaceful, great for families " - "The resort was over an hour from the ferry terminal so that was a negative factor for us when considering door-to-door travel. The staff were really fantastic, they definitely made the trip a pleasant experience and did everything to make us welcome and any support we needed. If the staff were not so amazing we would have been disappointed. The breakfast was great. The in-room dining food was ok, chips were often cold and not enjoyable, there was a limited selection of food, good for only 3-4 days. The rooms were of an ok standard, the cleanliness was excellent, and the housekeeping was great too. And the water boys, very fast. The kids rope course was closed, not advised in advance. The ATV and water sports staff were amazing too. Based on what we spent and the travel time though, in hindsight, I would have chosen a place in Phuket, close to restaurants and within 20 minutes of the airport. More variety and similar quality."

One thing to be mindful of is that there are very limited dining options in walking distance of the Sanchaya so we ate most meals at the hotel which are excellent but you do need to allow for it in your budget. Each is an ocean view with wood and island living themes. They are aesthetically pleasing and you’ll want to spend as much time in the room as much as the restaurant, pool and other areas. Getting around is easy and walkable. Bikes and buggies are available! We rode the bikes to and fro from our hotel room to the restaurant called Sugarbeats. The food is outstanding. We did not even need to leave the property once because of the quality and taste of the food. Recommended is the local Indonesian dishes where the chef excels in. Other fare options were good too! 5/5 will revisit!"
