- "We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Pearl. The house was clean and well stocked. The bed was comfortable. We loved spending relaxing mornings on the deck listening to the waves and boats go past. We used the grill in the evening and enjoyed the quiet at the end of a busy day. Every thing you need in Vaitape is only 15-20 minutes away. Nir was so helpful and kind throughout the whole trip. Having the car from Nir was a must and so convenient with Nir meeting us at the dock and dropping us off after. One of our favorite things was we were so close to the Manta Ray cleaning station that we just kayaked over to it (to the right and around the tip of the island as you face the ocean)and moored to the kayak to the existing ropes. We snorkeled with a Manta Ray all alone before the tour boats arrived in the morning. Incredible. We saw an octopus along with many other fish as we snorkeled right under the house, we also saw a Moray Eel about 30 feet from the bungalow to the right. Staying over the water in Bora Bora at this price made it so we were happy to pay for excursions like a trip to Taha’a to the Pearl and Vanilla farms, and to take the snorkel tour of the lagoons. Truly incredible experiences. Our only suggestion would be the curtains in the bedroom could use updating, but they worked fine. We recommend Snack Matira for good inexpensive lunches right on the beach. Thank you, Nir for your incredible hospitality and wonderful stay."

Because there is no public transport service on Bora Bora, you need to rent a car to be independant on the island during your stay . It is essential to go shopping, to go to the restaurant or to visit Bora Bora. You can directly book your rental car online on AVIS car rental website which is the most reliable car rental company in Bora Bora. I don't recommend renting an electric car because there are no electric charging points near the parking lot of our house. I also don't recommend renting scooters because they are not powerful enough to get to our upper parking lot and it is very difficult to carry your food purchase on a scooter to the house.

- "We had such a magical stay at the over water bungalow. Nir was a wonderful resource and helped us book lots of activities. It was so fun being picked up by an outrigger right from our deck." - "Really enjoyed our stay here. We were in the water almost every day. Swimming to the left off the deck we saw clown fish in anemones, off to the right a bit further (around the headland) we saw manta rays a couple times. There"s even coral and fish (we even saw a moray eel) within a few meters of the house. That said, while the water was clear early morning, it got progressively cloudier later on in the day. It's quite an exposed location, so any wind will come whipping along the water. This meant we often didn't need the AC and just opened the windows and doors (we only saw mosquitoes occasionally in the land side bedroom). It also meant that on windier days it was hard to kayak as the wind was so fierce. Recommend bringing some kind of inflatable to tie to the deck and float around on. (Most of the inflatables provided were broken in some way). Also there was always (non invasive) activity out on lagoon to sit and watch - locals paddling by, tourist boats or local traffic. The house itself is as described by many others here - comfortable and functional. A couple of nits you should be aware of - the windows in the bedrooms rattled when the wind was strong (or occasionally when the AC was on). Also the house wasn't spotlessly clean, for example there were crumbs in the silverware drawer. We did also see one cockroach but other than that there weren't any other bugs/ants. Overall we had an amazing time here and highly recommend staying if you want to avoid the resorts"

Because there is no public transport service on Bora Bora, you need to rent a car to be independant on the island during your stay . It is essential to go shopping, to go to the restaurant or to visit Bora Bora. You can directly book your rental car online on AVIS car rental company website which is the most reliable car rental company on Bora Bora. I don't recommend renting an electric car during your stay because there are no electric recharging points near the parking lot of our house. I also don't recommend renting scooters because they are not powerful enough to get to our upper parking lot and it is very difficult to carry your food purchase on a scooter to the house.

- "First off, Pierre was a great host. The information he provided on activities, recommendations, little hacks really helped us hit the ground running. We had an awesome time on the island. He provided kayaks, which we didn’t take advantage of, but is such a huge plus being literally a stone’s throw from the shore. I wish I had an extra day just to do that. The place: you’re 10-12 minutes from Vaitape, which is a blessing of a buffer because it gets really, really bogged down in people/car traffic. The balcony is huge and has a direct line of site to the sunset, so that’s what we did most evenings before hitting the town or restaurants. - "The overwater bungalow was perfect. Everything pictured and described on the web site was accurate. We loved our week at the bungalow. The location was good and we spent many hours out on the deck enjoying the beautiful water. Snorkeling right off the deck provided many beautiful fish and one day a huge moorea eel. A car was a must and Pierre was so nice as to guide us to car rental verses scooters. You will need a car to get to restaurants and store. We had several nice dinners out and even did some cooking, which the kitchen was set up for with everything we needed. Our favorite restaurant was St James which had amazing service and water views for dinner. They also have a bakery which we visited one morning for delicious croissants. Overall the four of us loved the bungalow and felt so fortunate to have the over water location for the week. Thanks Pierre"

There are only 5 private overwater bungalows in Bora Bora.
Number 3 is the most recent and all its charm comes from the panoramic view of its large living room with American kitchen which opens onto the terrace overlooking the lagoon by a large picture window.
This spacious living room with marble tiles is very pleasant and relaxing.
Comfortably seated on your sofa with the Apple TV, you can stay in touch with the world and watch your favorite programs. A "Bose Sound Touch" is also available, just load the application.
The corner kitchen with its central island is very user-friendly and its equipment is complete.
Two magnificent paintings by "Dubois", a renowned painter, in Tahiti evoke local life.

The air-conditioned bedroom with its queen size bed and several cupboards for your storage is at the rear and communicates with the bathroom equipped with a large walk-in shower facing a glass paste sink.
A television, facing the bed, also associated with an Apple TV and a large work table complete the layout.

The walls are in New Zealand pine wood and the tinted windows are double.
The bungalow is firmly seated on steel piles 9 meters deep and has benefited from the same structures as the construction of the most recent hotels.

Situation and access and JESSICA

Overwater Bungalow N ° 3 is located on the main island of Bora Bora just opposite your arrival at the airport. It is part of what is commonly called the
"Condominium" in Bora Bora in the Faanui district.
This condominium is a condominium of 16 Bungalows, 5 of which are on stilts.
To access bungalow N ° 3 you have to take the central pontoon and it's sign is displayed.

There is a Barthelemy caretaker and a Nathalie caretaker who are not in charge of rentals.
When you arrive at Bora Bora airport you will take the Air Tahiti shuttle which will take you in fifteen minutes to the Vaitape quay in town.
There, following your discussions with Jessica, a Taxi will take you to Bungalow N ° 3 or Jessica will wait for you and take care of you. She will show you around the bungalow, give you all the good advice to make your stay as pleasant as possible and give you the keys.

Free Wi-Fi and a landline phone work in the bungalow for local calls only.

The Condominium is located in a quiet location
You will have access to the entire ground floor of the bungalow, 110 m2.
In the cupboards on the back of the terrace you will find all the nautical equipment: inflatable buoys, fins, masks, foam fries, paddles for kayaking, lifebuoys

- "We are a family of 4 and spent 5 nights at Alain and Regina’s fare. We had a sweet welcome from them as they were waiting for us at the ferry. We followed them home and once settled they welcomed us to their house for some refreshing drinks. Our hosts were so gracious, generous with their time and very resourceful. They are exactly the reason why we chose their place: our daily conversations were enriching, we learned a lot about the island and its inhabitants. The fare was cozy and private. Finally, our hosts saved the day for us as I got stuck with a bad and painful back on our last day and I thought I would need to cancel our flights. Alain drive to town to get me medicine to help me get on my feet, Regina has recommended proper medication for it. Without their help, I may still be stuck on the fare’s king size bed (sweet punishment). But it all ended well, with Alain helping us with luggage and driving to ferry to help. We even received a good bye gift. Oh, speaking of gifts, they were very sweet and generous towards me and my son as we were both celebrating milestone birthdays during our stay. A beautiful newly renovated waterfront Villa. Enjoy the peaceful sunrises in this beautiful luxurious 2 bedroom villa. Located on a spacious parcel on the main island, on Eastside district of Anau, you will slip into relax mode right away. Jump off the pier into the beautiful turquoise lagoon of Bora Bora, exploring the coral valley is one of the many great amenities of this property. Come relax and enjoy Bora Bora away from the crowds.

- "The property was beautiful, photos don't give is justice. Hand carvings on the wood entrance give it a nice feel to the culture. Location was a little outside of town so it was perfect, private, and quiet. Close to 2 grocery stores so easy to get to food and the town is within riding/walking distance. The house was clean, beds were clean and comfy. Filtered water so we could refill our water bottles. Master bathroom was beautiful with huge shower! The dock was fun to walk out on and see crabs and fish. They had a lot of amenities we weren't even expecting. They provided bikes with locks so we could get around. They had an international converter for our phone charger. They had olive oil, margarine, spices and even some ground coffee. There were only two of us staying here but the house is so spacious if you had 5 people you wouldn't be crowded. They even provided some fins and towels. Really just felt like home. It was nice being outside town, we felt more like a local then in a crowded resort. The house was extremely safe, walls all around with a sliding gate. (Everyone is so friendly but the added security was nice). Louana was amazing and so sweet! Extremely helpful and quick to respond when you had any questions. She even helped us arrange a few taxis (gave them directions for pickup). Most the excursions, rentals, and restaurants will pick you up for free if you ask. The host was also quick to respond when I had questions during the booking process. Thank you!!"

- "Nice stay, but security is an issue"

We call our home "Maeva Hoa" (mah-ay-vah ho-ah), Tahitian for "Welcome Friend." A 5 star luxury mountainside bungalow with an amazing lagoon view, our newly remodeled dream home sleeps six and is the only one of its kind on Bora Bora. Part of the famed Marlon Brando bungalows, our home is located in the quiet town of Faanui. We are approximately 15 minutes by car from Vaitape, Bora Bora's "main" downtown. We left nothing to spare when remodeling and furnishing this beautiful bungalow home. Our home is fully air conditioned, which is very rare for a private residence on the island. We have wifi as well as a land line which will allow you to make local calls to book activities, dinners, etc. Whether you're relaxing indoors watching Netflix or air playing from your Apple device to one of our three smart TVs, dining on our spacious lagoon view outdoor terrace, or enjoying the private beach, you will have both the comforts of home and those of a 5 star hotel. We are sure that a stay in our home will provide you with fantastic memories that will last a lifetime.

Beautiful interior - lustrous wood floors and carvings, completely modern equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. This is an exceptional home from which to enjoy Bora Bora. The owner and property manager are extremely kind." - "This property is just as advertised, beautiful view, new remodeled interior, fresh and clean and in a nice quiet area of the island. The bedding was comfortable, and our family members (4 adults) slept well. Separate air conditioning units were in every room and worked fine. Ariane, the property assistant, was very kind and helpful. The property owner was a pleasure to work with and was helpful in answering all of my questions about the property. We were granted a late check out by the owner, which was great, since our flight out of Bora Bora didn't leave until almost 7 pm. We had a problem with the electric stove on our last day. It turned out that the solution was to power off the stove at the circuit breaker, then turn back on. It was a small inconvenience. I enjoyed hanging out on the outdoor terrace, but I had to watch out for the occasional wasp. One of those buggers made its way into the home through the sliding glass door. Things didn't work out well for the wasp. If a prospective guest has a hard time walking up stairs and such, this property may not be for them. We had to park our rental car down on the road and had a bit of a steep walk up the drive and stairs to the vacation rental. It wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for someone who has some mobility issues. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bora Bora. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we ever make it back to that island, we would love to stay at this beautiful vacation rental again."
