- "Made a last minute online booking as a tourist. Arrived to find a conference hotel which was largely empty as they were no ongoing meetings. We were initially somewhat disappointed as we seemed to be two guests in an almost empty hotel that was located on the outskirts of town. It is quite close to the sea, but no sea views. The room was hot as the only ventilation seemed to be in the bathroom. However things started to improve, the room temperature was ok when we kept the balcony door open, getting into the town centre took a 10 minute bike ride, the bed and linen were very comfortable, the roof terrace with sauna and jacuzzi was really nice, and suddenly we found ourselves happy that there were hardly any other guests to share this with. Breakfast was fantastic. Overall a disappointing start but things improved rapidly during our one night stay."

We didn't realise we had to pay in cash and could not by card, however the owner told us where the local cash machine and everything was fine. We booked an apartment with two bedrooms and a kitchen, and we were upgraded to a three bedroom apartment. Near to the place there are Opal lake, Hammerhus, Light House and Sandvig city for going to eat. The check in experience was not nice. We had to call the hosts and wait 30 min until one of them came. We were surprised how many rooms were free although the place was “completely booked” on booking.com and we have supposedly booked the “last room” here on Expedia. It’s amazing! The room was quite expensive but it was nice anyway taking into account that there were only 2 other guests in the house. And it was clean."
