The apartment has full wheelchair access. But Triesenberg is a mountain community with steep roads. Therefore the area is only suitable for wheelchair users to a limited extent.

Surroundings/excursions

The whole region offers numerous excursion destinations and hiking tours, the idyllic Liechtenstein mountains offer something for everyone. In addition, the Alpstein mountains with the Hoher Kasten (revolving restaurant), Chäserrugg, Säntis and Appenzell are within easy reach. In winter, the Malbun ski area offers extensive ski and snowboard slopes as well as winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours. In Steg there are also cross-country ski trails and a toboggan run about 1 km long.

Numerous museums and castles invite you to visit. Excursion destinations suitable for children are: the climbing park in Triesen, the mini-golf course in Vaduz, the zoo in Feldkirch, the open-air swimming pool in Vaduz, the Gänglesee Steg, the Forscherweg in Malbun, the Walser-sagen-weg in Triesenberg, as well as many other great excursion destinations in the region.

The thermal bath Bad Ragaz and various indoor swimming pools, Vita-parcours or golf courses in the immediate vicinity.

The holiday flat is located 10 minutes by car from Vaduz, 5 minutes by car from Steg/malbun, 20 minutes by car from Buchs/werdenberg, 30 minutes by car from Feldkirch (At), 30 minutes by car from Chur/graubünden, 80 minutes by car from Zurich and is easy to reach in summer as well as in winter.

There are numerous restaurants in the community of Triesenberg/malbun. There is a bakery and a small supermarket for basic needs. For larger purchases, it is worth visiting a larger supermarket in the valley.

There is a microwave with grill/baking funktion in the room. Cooking with brought along hotplates, stoves, gas cookers etc. is strictly NOT allowed.
Smoking is not allowed in the room. On the outdoor terrace, however, it is allowed to smoke. There is an ashtray available.

I recommend arriving by private vehicle (mountain area). The distance to the bus stop is 850m and you have to walk partly uphill. Please note that the roads in the residential area of Triesenberg are partly narrow and a bit steep. In winter, there are rarely snowy days and the snow clearance is very good, but I still recommend winter tires and 4WD is an advantage depending on the weather forecast.

The house is located in the center of Triesenberg with a short walk (350m) from the nearest bus stop and a beautiful view south to the Alps.
It is a very old house and shows signs of wear. For those looking for impeccable 5-star accommodation, this may be the wrong place, but for those who are satisfied with character accommodation, this is the place for you.
Apart from me live here also 3 cats and therefore one meets one or the other cat hair, so please do not complain.
The community Triesenberg has a lot to offer nature lovers. There is a ski resort on the main street in Malbun, which is part of the community. It offers a small and familiar ski area. There is also an area for cross-country skiing, skating and classic cross-country skiing. There are winter hiking trails and a toboggan run.
In the village center you can rent bicycles, up to 24 hours for free.
In summer, the same resort offers a variety of activities such as hiking, mountain biking, downhill and you can even see marmots in the wild. With a little luck you will get very close to them.
There is a sauna in the house, which can be used for an additional charge of 10 € per person per use.
For those who want to stay longer, there is a washer and dryer which can be used for a small charge of € 5.
There is a bathroom shared by the guests.
Despite its age, the house is equipped with modern lighting systems and other electronic and "smart" devices that can make life easier.
Even for those who have a modern technology phobia, this might not be the right place to stay.
All in all, for a reasonable price, this area offers some basic accommodations with a short distance to nature and outdoor activities.
The check in on arrival is between 17:00 and 20:00. If you want to deviate from this, you must first refrain from doing so.
If someone wants to use the kitchen or other areas, I ask you to ask first and to show where dishes and cooking pots are.
