- "It's an boat, or a yacht. They really went extra miles to make passengers happy. All activities including diving, snorkeling, outings from morning to night, you won't get bored. Totally over 10 or 12 maybe more passengers on the boat. I think the number of staff were the same or more. Very helpful and very friendly! They used speedboat to pick us up at the hotel and the same way to transfer us to the land and went to the airport by car. Our flight was at 6pm, so they let us got off the boat at 3:30. Beautiful lagoon/beach access, just outside of the main area in Koror. Close enough to everything you need but isolated enough to feel private and secluded. The room you get will make a difference in the overall feel you get. Since I wasn’t planning on leaving the hotel much I opted for one of the rooms with a deck and I totally loved the view. This is probably the closest you could get to a bungalow over the water without actually being in a bungalow over the water. They have their own little beach area, dock access, and small pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful and most rooms come with a continental-ish breakfast. Breakfast selection was limited but it did have omelets to order and some meats like ham and marinated pork so it was more than just a continental breakfast and more than I anticipated. [Update] the breakfasts kept getting better and better as the days went by. Definitely caters to more Asian tastes but still good. All that said there are things to be forewarned about. I had a really nice bathroom and bathtub but there was a bad smell coming from the drain(s?) which I endured the first night. The hotel maintenance and housekeeping worked on it but it wasn’t fully resolved. They, along with the front desk staff, were caring and responsive. It’s important to keep in mind that Palau is tropical so there were bugs in the room. Not a lot but enough to be noticeable. "

There's no carpet anywhere, which makes the whole place cleaner in general. The A/Cs work well in the room and the furniture and set-up are very sleek, modern, and practical. You have PLENTY of desk and counter space in the main room, and a little kitchen-nook, with a counter containing an automatic kettle, with tea and coffee packets and mugs/cups. There's a fridge but no microwave. The closet contains a safe, folding luggage stool, a robe, and anti-theft hangers. The bed is super comfortable - a tad high for short people, but still manageable in terms of getting on/off. The bathroom is equally clean and sleek. The sink is a stylish basin, designed to help with splashes, and sits atop open, floating cupboards underneath for towels and toilet paper. There's no hair dryer, but little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided (all decent), as well as toothbrushes with tiny tubes of toothpaste, 2 clean glass cups, disposable razors, and slippers (kind of low-quality, but didn't even need them because the floor tiles were not uncomfortably cold and were very clean). The showerhead was great, water pressure good and strong - good shower/tub unit with clear sliding door. There's a little metallic floating shelf with a draining grill-bottom and sides for your shower bottles and other supplies. The toilet has an automatic bidet system - nice! I'd stay here again. Oh, and there's a decent restaurant on1st floor - taste and $."

The staff was incredible, however, the facility is dated. The bathroom needs some serious updating, and it should be noted that you can not flush toilet paper in the toilets. The kitchen has a stove but the experience would really be upgraded with a microwave (the Executive Bar heated items in their microwave for me). The Executive Restuarant and Bar is on the second floor and provides breakfast and dinner. The menu is extensive and the staff is friendly and responsive. It also needs to be noted that there is an aluminum can recycling business in front of the property which creates a significant amount of noise during the 9-5 hours (it's not as distracting in the bedroom or kitchen). The office is only open from 0800-1700, so I'm not sure how to check in after-hours. Overall the stay was good, it just took some adjusting from staying in a regular hotel."

It was lovely yet hidden motel. It was quiet and truly focused on those that just want to be away. It was far from the general hotel areas, quiet. It was a small hotel and I felt at home. I was not walking a huge reception area, or elevators or expansive hallways. It was exceptionally clean and maintained. Since there are no restaurants at the motel, I needed to eat somewhere. This was not a problem since the eating sites are within walking distance. In addition, small stores were nearby providing my basic daily needs. Palau is a beautiful destination. Nature was all around. Thus I was always mesmerize by the island's landscape, flora and fauna. From my room, I observed the extensive mangrove forest. The motel was a neighborhood location. Families lived surrounding the hotel. I thought this gave me an insight and casual observations of how Palauans lived. The people of the land is the primary asset of any destination. Nearby, the only Public High School of the island is located, Palau Senior High School. Thus, I observed the students daily in the morning and early afternoon when I walked through the main boulevard of Koror.. Adjacent to the high school is the Palau Community College. Not too far, I was able to see the Palau National Museum and certain National State Government Offices. Again, all were within walking distance. Truly, the DW Motel was my home away from home."

The space
The apartment is located on the second floor of the Meda Terrace building. The first floor consists of two office spaces and a parking area. The space is ideal for couples or solo travellers wanting to save money from expensive hotel rooms and have the luxury of cooking at home for a few days or a few weeks!

The kitchen includes a stovetop, refrigerator, dishes and appliances. We also have a water filtration system to refill your bottles so we can avoid plastic pollution. There is also a dining table for 4 people and a coffee table area with a couch. In addition there is 1 full bathroom with a new shower and toilet.

The bedroom is cozy, clean and chic with a queen-sized bed that can fit 2 people. There is also ample closet and drawer space and a mirror. We provided sheets and towels.

The apartment is on the second floor, through the main entrance of the building and then you will have your own private entrance.

The space
Meda House is ideal for a group of 4-6 people! Downstairs, there is a kitchen including stovetop, refrigerator, dishes and appliances. There is also a dining table for 6 people, a coffee table area, 1 full bathroom with shower and toilet and 1 bedroom with a double-sized bed for 2 people.

Going upstairs, we have a hangout spot on the balcony to catch the sunrise. When you go inside the upstairs portion of the house from the outside, you will see a tropical-styled living room, as well as 3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom with toilet and shower. Upstairs , two of the bedrooms have single beds and one bedroom has a double-sized bed to fit 2 people.

The kitchen is shared by all and is located on the first floor of Meda House.

- "Let me start with the good - the beach is right across the street, it's a quiet neighborhood and there are a few shops close by for basic needs and a great restaurant up the street. The house is well stocked with everything you need, and it's comfortable and cozy. The owner was not in town, but her daughter helped us by renting a car and meeting up with us to give us keys and directions, she was very kind and informative. Compared to prices in Koror, and other rentals for 8 nights, the cost was quite reasonable for two bedrooms. The reason it isn't 5 stars was because on our second to last night, we arrived from a long day, sunburned and tired to find the power had been cut. I had to go the neighbors and ask for help- they were super kind. Unfortunately, it took several calls and about three hours before power came back and it was cut off due to lack of payment. One rainy day, the whole street lost power and that was fine, but this power outage was preventable. That said, they did do their best to fix it and offer some compensation. Because of that, I would come back here if I were to return. It would be especially great for two couples."

- "We completely enjoyed our stay at Ngermid Oasis. This is a great property for those looking for something other than hotel experience. Our local hosts were friendly and helpful- set op our paddling and boat tours as well as airport transfers and rental car. I would go back here anytime. You will need a car or other transport as property is not in Koror (still close to town and airport). Be aware that this is an owner run property with several different accomodations. Best to confirm what is available as all units are not shown on VRBO. Lovely pool!"
