Casa del Oasis is about a ten minute walk to the Mercado, the artisan market and the main grocery store. 15 minutes to the center of town.

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, at the end of a private gated drive. It is an easy walk to the park in the center of town, all the ruins and churches, as well as the many wonderful places to eat and shop.

The property offers secure off road parking for one car.

The house is laid out in the traditional Spanish colonial 'U' shape with an enclosed courtyard which includes a fountain, lovely plants, outside dining and seating areas.

There are four bedrooms and five baths downstairs in the main part of the house. Directly across the courtyard is the laundrywing. Here are the 2 of the fourh bedrooms newely renovated

Upstairs is the master bedroom/bath, as well as an exit to the terrace with dining and relaxing areas. There is also a trundle bed in the upstairs hall.

The bottom part of the 'U' contains the living room, dining room, kitchen and garage area. All furnishing are newer or antiques. There is WIFI and cable TV.

You will find several seating areas on the upstairs terrace and a small quiet garden to one side of the house that is a nice space to sit and read as well as the main courtyard.

We have several levels of security that start with a gated entrance to our neighborhood of about 12 houses. Once inside, the private road leads to our house where we have a keyed gate to enter the property, then another locked gate and door to enter the house areas. Within the house and garden are there is wire. We have owned the house for 2 years and have never had a break in.

Having rented houses in Antigua before buying this home, we stayed in some lovely places but they were either very noisy, had poor ventilation, lack of security, impure water, too far from town or just not comfortable. We have made this home as comfortable and convenient as we can for ourselves and our guests.

Airport pickup can be arranged. We recommend you using our driver since he know the house locations and is in regular contact with the manager. If you are staying for a month or more, we will provide airport pickup free of charge. We can also arrange groceries to be in the home when you arrive and a cook if you need one.

Hotel Soleil is close by and has pool access for a fee. There are also other hotels with pools that are available for a small fee.

When staying for a month or more, we will pay the first $75 a month of the electrical bill. Electricity is expensive here so we encourage renters to conserve. A months electrify can run about $150- $175.

Our house, two blocks from the Central Park, has a large living room/dining room, a cozy library, and a fully equipped kitchen. All four bedrooms open into gardens. The washing machine, utilities (internet, cable, electricity, water, gas), gardener twice a week, and maid three times a week are included. The rooftop terrace has beautiful mountain views. The one-story house is tastefully decorated in colonial and Mayan styles. The bathrooms are newly remodeled. There is indoor secure parking, although one does not need a car unless you go on excursions out of town. The house is just steps away from great restaurants, shops, and delis.

Villa Eggedal is one of the largest and most luxurious estates around Lake Atitlan. Spectacular is the only word to describe this ten acre walled villa located near the shore in the village of Santa Cruz la Laguna. This Mayan village is only accessible by boat, just a ten-minute ride from Panajachel and you’ll arrive to privacy, luxury, spacious comfort, incredible views of the lake, mountains and volcanoes, and immaculately tended gardens and grounds.

Villa Eggedal is located 150 meters from the lake shore, which offers a sandy beach for swimming. A winding, uphill walkway leads to the estate and then through the grounds to the two studio apartments, two houses, and the owners private home with pool. Genuine 450 year old colonial house for rent in the centre of Antigua, Guatemala that is 4 blocks from Central Park. It has a spectacular view of the Volcano Agua, a swimming pool, 4 bedrooms each with complete private bathroom, shower and bathtubs. Two of the bedrooms have second floor mezzanines with circular staircases for more bedroom space if needed. All the bedrooms have queen size beds and the mezzanines have double beds. There are also two double beds set up in office area of the house…. This area has its own two-piece bathroom and shares the full bathroom with the master bedroom.
From the second floor outside patio the spectacular view can be seen of the towns going up the volcano and the view of the volcano itself.
The house has a typical colonial internal garden area around the pool and a sauna plus one internal garage spot for one vehicle; a large living and dining room area and a new modern kitchen has just been recently installed.
Within the price of the rental includes maid service for the cooking of breakfast and lunch only, (food must be provided by renter(s)), and daily cleaning of the rooms. please note my staff will also do the shopping for you With money you provide. They will bring you back the receipts and any change! Other services can be included but would need to be agreed upon first. Only request is that you tip the staff accordingly if you are happy with their services!

The beautiful Spanish colonial villa was designed and furnished by an artist. The property is set into the mountainside of the extinct Volcan de Agua and looks out over the rolling hills and valley below and two other volcanoes. Surrounded by farmland with compesinos walking their burrows to the fields, the property is a refuge from the bustle of urban life. Birds serenade the sunrise.

There are three bedrooms, with the master suite taking up the whole second floor and the other two guest rooms on the ground floor in a separate wing. From the master bath you can watch Fuego erupting or the fireworks in the valley. There are terraces and seating on all four sides so you can sit in sun or shade or take in different views depending on preference and time of day. A stepped fountain 'stream' with flowering plants and fish is in the central courtyard where you can sit out for meals or on the back terrace with umbrella.

The spacious gardens tended daily by the local gardener are filled with flowers you can cut to have in the house. Open lawns for children to play in the walled compound and endless walks through the countryside outside the walls.

Within the spacious walled compound are two other homes not visible from my house, in addition to the guard/doorman who provides 24 hour security and his wife who cleans the house three days a week (additional maid service can be arranged). The two bedrooms on the ground floor share a bathroom between them which also serves as the guest bathroom.

I recently built a beautiful wood fired sauna that seats 6-8 people or two people can lie down on the long benches. When you step outside, there is a cold shower. We have been having sauna parties and have friends over to relax and then have supper together.

All year round one eats outside on the terraces by the cascading fountain or in the warm patio under the umbrella on the patio off the dining room. Downtown Antigua with its restaurants, sites and night life is only 12 minutes away by car.

Jerry (the restaurant chef) and Mario (property manager) make everything possible--and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Mario arranged boats for our large group, and every day we visited a different town or site on the lake. The kids loved coming back to play in the pool and "hot" (actually just warm, but nice) tub. Jerry cooked almost all of our meals (except lunch, which we usually ate on an excursion elsewhere), and because we were a large group with young children, we generally ate them in our own villa. One suggestion I would make is to better equip the villa's kitchen, including keeping staples for guests, and having better utensils available. It is difficult to shop on that part of the Lake, as Julio had warned us. Also be prepared to pay daily for boat services. The weather was perfect every day, and the view is just spectacular. You will have a great time!"

Phil took me to town to do some grocery shopping and I felt safe leaving my family at the home. Jorge arranged a boat trip for us to do some kayaking and cliff diving. He also arranged for Maria to come and cook for us. Maria is an awesome cook. She will come and cook whatever meals that you want her to make at a very reasonable price. The house if amazing. You will enjoy the serenity of the villa which is located in a private cove on a hard surface road approximately 1/4 mile from the quaint village of San Antonio Palopo. It is a very secluded property with no "neighbors" on either side. To the east is the soft-flowing Parankaya River. To the west are undeveloped grounds which are also part of the villa grounds. The Villa is Absolutely Amazing. It is Paradise. Volcano Views!

Lakeview on the Rocks is located on the waterfront of Lago de Atitlan, and offers stunning views of the San Lucas Toliman and Atitlan volcanoes and sunsets across the lake.

Our home is SMOKE-FREE! Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere inside the house. You will be charged the entire deposit if you smoke inside your room or any shared spaces. We have a camera outside facing the lake for safety purposes.

- "I've been here three times. That should be a good sign. I love the location because it is far enough away from town to not hear the evening music from the clubs. Close enough to walk if the river is not running too fast. There's a foot bridge to cross. Ther are plenty of Tuk-tuks to get you into town for Q5 or Q10 depending on the driver. One thing to mention is someone is making a quick buck... I had the office get us a boat for the day on the lake. If had bargained with one of the many boat captains right outside the gate,I would have paid half as much. HALF. That's a big difference. There are some things in the casitas that are starting to show its wear. Blinds, furniture but I will return again because of the crew that is so nice. The gardner is such a good guy. For all of us who "need" WiFi it's very good too. Thank you for allowing me to stay with you again."
