- "We just spent a lovely and relaxing 2 weeks in Villa Vedran in Podgora. The villa is really well planned and is spotlessly clean. We have been going on Villa holidays for roughly 20 years and this is one of the best we’ve been to for several different reasons. Vlado and Danijela were both amazing hosts. Communication was very easy and always prompt. Their recommendations for food, places to go locally and in Split etc were always spot on. They even helped me sort out a parking ticket which was very kind of them. Also the little details have also been thought through like having enough toilet roll, soaps and shower gels, salt, oil, charcoal briquettes etc. which are small but inevitably need to be bought if they aren’t supplied and they rarely are. The welcome hamper was also very classy and was much appreciated. The gym is really well equipped and there is plenty of outdoor seating. We spent a lot of time by the pool which is as inviting as the photos suggest. A car is essential but we did in fact walk to Podgora down some paths a few times. Walking back is a bit more challenging but only took 15-20 mins so is definitely a possibility if you are fit enough. Equally you can take a slightly longer route which isn’t as steep which only takes 5-10 mins longer. Podgora and Tucepi have good restaurants and we didn’t have a bad meal anywhere. This part of Croatia is beautiful and Villa Vedran was the perfect base for us. We’d be happy to go back there anytime."

- "Really lovely, clean villa in a stunning location however you need a car to drive into Podgora where parking is very difficult, especially in August, as it's very busy. We had a couple of issues with coffee machine not working, no gas for the BBQ and no parasols but this was dealt with quickly by Iva although one small parasol by the pool was not enough (5 of us huddled under it at one point). There was a lack of cups and glasses especially when 7 people are drinking water all day (possibly only around 7 or 8 glasses in total) and there were no plastic cups or glasses for the pool area which was dangerous, especially with children. We had to buy single use plastic cups to use by the pool which is really bad for the environment. On a positive note though the villa was very spacious and comfortable, including the beds and sofas and having an en-suite to each bedroom was just brilliant. I would recommend this villa, just needs a few more things in the kitchen."

I recommend this villa for an amazing holiday." - "This is a very spacious villa set in the hills above Makarska. It has been built to a very high specification and has everything you need for a family holiday. The garden has been well landscaped with a lovely pool. Please note that there is no shallow end to the pool for children who cannot swim. Fortunately our youngest learnt to swim in deep water while we were there. The villa is situated up a very steep, long hill, not something you would want to walk up or down in the heat, but there are plenty of taxis in the main town if you want to go out in the evening which cost around £10 for the journey. You can also call them to pick you up too. The owners are very attentive and always at hand, they will greet you when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave. The pool is serviced by them every two days. We had a problem with a puncture and they helped us find a place to get it repaired and even drove us to the garage which we were very grateful for. Makarska is a dream holiday for children with its variety of water sports which are easily accessible and its beautiful beaches and crystal clear seas. July and August is very crowded but once you get used to this you will find that the town is geared up for the influx of visitors and there is plenty to do. In summary we had a fantastic family holiday with our grandchildren, daughter and her partner. You will not be disappointed with the villa or with the owners who will ensure that your needs are catered for. "

- "Our family of four travelled down from Split after hiring a car with Oryx car rental, it took about an hour and a half to reach Zaostrog. Mario, the owner's property manager, kept in touch with us in the run up to the holiday and met us when we arrived. Mario was excellent as he quickly answered any questions we had via Whatsapp and was accessible whilst we were there living only 5 minutes away from villa Mate. The location is stunning being half way up the Viter mountain, so you have the elevation to take in the grandest of views -the photos don't quite do it justice. The villa was clean, very smart and modern. Three showers and toilets, a heated infinity pool to die for, three 4k TVs, inside and outside cooking facilities, this place has it all. The upstairs bedroom was the largest and arguably the most 'adult' but we let our two kids have that room as it had a king size bed and also a single chair bed (which was never used!). We opted for the lower, but equally gorgeous, bedroom whose doors opened out onto a fantastic view and direct access to the pool, ideal for that early morning swim before the kids woke up! The drive up from the main road (2km/5 minutes) is a bit twisty and we elected to keep our car in the single parking spot above the property on the road as the actual driveway/parking was quite tricky to negotiate being narrow and steep, I wasn't that confident in a brand new hire car! As it was October half term there was very little open in the immediate locality, we had to travel half an hour to Makarska to get to a decent selection of restaurants and touristy type activities, but luckily the Delfin beach bar in lower Zaostrog was open which served decent food on the beach. The beach/waterfront itself is only a couple of kilometres down the road as is the local Plodine supermarket which was exceedingly handy! The property was so nice however, that half the week was spent just lazing around and drinking in the views. At an unprecedented mid 20 degrees for end of October, I think we were very lucky! Matko, the owner, owns a few villas in the area I believe. If they are anywhere near as good as this then I would have no hesitation in booking. I would rate this particular villas as the best I've been in on our self-catering travels, it was fantastic. Well done Matko and also bravo to Mario!"

- "We had an amazing stay at Apartment Luna. Plenty of space for our family of five and a perfect location to town, beaches, grocery stores, and day excursions outside of Makarska. The set up is perfect for every meal. The kids loved swimming in the pool after our daily sightseeing and Zdenka was the perfect host. She was extremely welcoming and great to our kids. - "Noce Villa, with good localization near to makarska and pleasant pool" - "The house is divided in 2 separate apartments, one 3*** (ground floor) and one 4**** (first floor). Traveling together it is sad, that it is so divided, but also an advantage. Best kitchen is on first floor, so it would be better/preferred that it was ground floor, as ground floor has exit to shared terrace and pool area, but it works. But stair directly to terrace from first floor would be nice!! Still, very attractive house if you look for a private house with excellent view and private pool :-) "
