Situated at the base of Mt Buffalo, in NE Victoria, the Lodge is an impressive handcrafted building constructed from local timber built on the site of an old Cattleman's hut from the 1930s. It has a 7 metre vaulted ceiling supported by huge load bearing timber beams. The glass front to the building provides breathtaking views of Mt Buffalo gorge whilst your dine inside.

With 3 fully equipped bedrooms. The 1st floor is occupied by an indulgent master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a spa bath with views across virgin forest. Downstairs there are luxurious queen and double bedrooms, with a shared bathroom that includes a shower and an elegant cast iron claw-foot bath.

Things to Do

The spectacular luxury accommodation contains everything you should need for your stay, including a small library of books and DVDs, a selection of indoor and outdoor games, a telescope to watch climbers and hang glider pilots on Mt Buffalo and a high power spotlight to track the deer, owls, wombats and possums that occupy the grounds at night. For this reason our property is strictly no pets allowed.

For the more adventurous, the lodge provides easy access to and walking trails as well as being located at the bottom of one of the best cycling climbs in Australia. The region is an outdoor playground for children and adults alike.

The secluded location also means that there is no phone connection and no TV reception - our guests seem to like it that way! Mobile phone reception is limited.

We can also arrange for a personal chef to cook you a fabulous 3 course meal, with or without wine for our guests.

Grounds and Fire Safety

Scattered around the grounds are approximately 60 fruit trees, planted as rent by those who stayed in the original hut throughout the years. We'd love you to help yourselves to our organic lemons and limes and whatever other fruit you can find during your stay.

Our property is managed in accordance with Land for Wildlife, a voluntary scheme that encourages and assists private landowners to provide habitats for wildlife on their property. We provide a spotlight for guests to search for animals at night. You are likely to see wombats, wallabies, kookaburras, lyre birds and even occasionally the rare yellow bellied gliding possum on our property. For this reason our property is strictly no pets allowed. We are contributing to mitigation of the pollination crisis in Australia by looking after a bee hive.

We take fire safety seriously and have constructed the house to comply with the draft Australian Standard for houses in high bush fire risk areas (the standard that has now been applied to all rural homes since the Black Saturday fires) . It is built on a concrete base, clad in a naturally fire resistant timber, all the external roof timber is painted with fire resistant paint and there is an external sprinkler system.

- The Lodge is a superb insulator. A conventional house has an insulation value varying from R2 to R4. This log cabin has an insulation value of R16. The very high insulation capacity reduces heating and cooling requirements.
- Large logs have another wonderful property - their thermal mass; they are capable of storing heat. When the cabin temperature is lowered (e.g at night) they give back heat into the rooms until the temperature is again equalized.

Providing a unique retreat experience for couples with all the modern conveniences (minus the TV of course) including heating/cooling, a fully equipped kitchen and ensuite.

The small kitchen is fully equipped and fitted out with all of the usual necessities including oven, stovetop, fridge, coffee pod machine, kettle toaster as well as breakfast bar which has been beautiful hand-crafted by the owner from a chestnut tree found on the property.

A comfortable living space adjoins the equally sumptuous bedroom, so when you tire of lounging on the pillowy soft linens, its only a few short barefoot steps to the plush velvet sofa that looks out to the suspended deck and views of Wandiligong.

Venture out and breath in the country air, as the clouds change a multitude of colours, with the sun setting beyond. Then watch the stars begin to pop out one by one like diamonds in the clear sky. This will be an experience you will remember for years to come.



The space


Little Wandana is located on a 5-acre property with exclusive private access to the tiny home.
The location is solitary and peaceful.
The decking comes complete with large gas heater, deck chairs, coffee table and BBQ to soak in the serenity at any time of year.
Guests can feel free to roam around the property, make friends with the neighbouring alpacas or simply sit on the decking admiring the view.

Location

Little Wandana is approximately 4ks from Bright in the Wandiligong Valley where there are several choices of restaurants and cafes, shops and a movie theatre.

It is also within walking distance to the Wandi Pub, dont forget to take a torch if heading there at night. Bright is a wonderful base for exploring - including Mt Buffalo National Park, Alpine National Park and Mt Hotham. There are many wineries, hiking and cycling paths and many attractions to see.



Getting There

Part of the charm of our property is the location, perched on a hill in our beautiful valley surrounded by pine forest and bushland.

The location does mean our driveway is an elevated dirt road.

Under normal conditions a standard vehicle is usual fine, although we do recommend if driving a normal vehicle to make sure you accelerate from the bottom as front wheel drives may find it harder to get up if travelling slower.

We recommend that you take this into consideration when deciding on booking our property and what kind of vehicle you drive to the retreat or at least take caution when driving.

- "This was our first tiny house experience, and we loved it. When looking for a place to stay for a weekend getaway, I ending up picking Little Wandana because of the alpacas (as my husband loves them). The views are stunning, and there was nothing more relaxing than enjoying a cup of tea on the very generously sized deck. We didn't get a chance to use the BBQ, but it was nice to have the option. Though it is 'tiny' as the name suggests, it is very well appointed and felt perfectly cozy and surprisingly left us wanting for nothing. The bed was very comfortable, the place was clean, lovely toiletries, and we appreciated the little treats that were provided for us. I tried my hand at my first pour over coffee, which was delicious, sourced from a local business as were the other goodies. We had a pretty full schedule of activities planned in the area, so we didn't have time to work out how to get access to the alpacas - but it was nice to see them grazing in the background. It is located a very short drive from Bright where our friends were staying, and we didn't find the distance an issue at all. Unfortunately the weather didn't lend to exploring the walking tracks in the Wandiligong area - so we hope to return and remedy that! Which brings us to the access on the property... We have a medium sized SUV with all wheel drive - and it managed the stone/dirt road just fine. The heavy rains and flooding in the area did make us a little nervous as we saw some hilly roads in Bright turn into rivers when the heavy rain came, but everything worked out fine in the end. Though I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with a small front wheel drive hatch back (or similar to be safe), we would definitely stay at this property again."

Located only 25 minutes walk from Bright Brewery on the shores of Ovens river, this unique property of about 1.5 acres is nestled within the forest of National Park with only you and the nature around. Spacious 3-bedroom cabin with a fireplace and air conditioning providing accommodation for up to 8 people, plus the option to camp for an additional 16 people. *Please note that the bathrooms are located OUTSIDE. There are no bathrooms/toilets inside the cabin.

With super comfortable bedding, a well-equipped kitchen and fast broadband internet it can be perfect for extended stays.
Outside you’ll find 2.2m diameter stainless steel spa, a large Sauna trailer, an outdoor shower and a firepit with a BBQ grill option. Get the Bluetooth speaker and outdoor projector connected and enjoy a cinema night under the stars while relaxing in the spa.
There are two toilet/shower rooms located OUTSIDE the cabin each containing a toilet, shower & basin, with one also featuring a washing machine.

CANCELLATION POLICY - STANDARD
• If notification of a cancellation or amendment is received more than 14 days prior to the booking arrival date, a fee of $110 (including GST) will apply and will be deducted from the deposit paid prior to the issuing of a refund.
• If notification of a cancellation is received 14 days or less prior to the booking arrival date no refund or credit will apply.

Tewksbury Lodge is a 4.5 star Log Cabin, located 5 mins drive from Bright, with great views of Mount Buffalo, nestled beside the Ovens River.
You’ll love the Lodge which offers the unique experience of an authentic, hand-crafted log cabin.
The tranquil setting, the cosiness of the Log Cabin, spa, log fire, comfy beds and leather recliners offer an accommodation experience difficult to find elsewhere in Australia.
The Lodge is self catering and good for 1 or 2 couples or families with kids.

The space
A sure-fire way to rack up some cheer is to stay in an authentic handcrafted log cabin. The Lodge is set toward the rear of our 2 acre leafy property in Porepunkah, just five minutes' drive from Bright. It is built in a traditional Canadian-style, so you can rest assured it will handle any conditions that Australian weather can throw at it. A log fire and spa keep the cold at bay in winter, and reverse cycle A/C keeps you cool in summer. And operations are carbon-neutral, thanks to solar panels, double-glazed windows, a skylight and the super-insulating powers of 30 tons of plantation logs.
The open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen area is spacious. There are two bedrooms. One has a king sized bed and the 2nd has a queen-sized bed. The lodge has a large bathroom with a separate shower and spa bath.
You can find your inner Daniel Boon here, from fishing for trout to swimming in rivers. Boone might have roughed it, but this is a comfortable getaway that is also geared for cycling, wineries, foodie delights and lazy summer nights on the large verandah with your own barbecue.

Please be aware we do live on the property in a separate home, so we are available as required. However we respect your privacy and will leave you alone to enjoy your stay and the peace and quiet, unless you contact us.

The Lodge is set toward the rear of our 2 acre property, in a shady landscaped garden. There is a relaxing swing seat and a fire pit overlooking the Ovens River, which is just a stones throw away. The area around the cabin at the rear of the property is reserved for guest privacy, but guests are certainly free to enjoy the rest of the grounds.

Firewood:
Fire pit: Low quality camp fire wood for the outside fire-pit is usually available free of charge, all year round.
Inside fire: During winter we provide a complementary supply of fire wood to get you started, so you can fully experience the ambience of the log Cabin. Once your complimentary supply is used (or outside of winter months), firewood is available for purchase as required. Firewood is also available from local service stations and hardware stores.

La Baracca is located on a property with also a main house, located approximately 50 meters from the rear of the main house. La Baracca is fully fenced from sight of the main house making it fully private.

There is curtains on only the large bedroom window; there are two smaller stained glassed windows in the bedroom area that do not have curtains. The kitchen, lounge and frosted front door do not have curtains.

You may on occasion be greeted by ‘Louie’ the estate cat.

There is an ‘Eufy security’ router in the cabin but no camera onsite. This is to operate cameras at large house only.

Glasshouse is perfect for a snow trip…set on 5 acre resort property in the village of Mt Beauty a 20 minute drive from Bright and 35 minutes from Falls Creek Ski Resort.
It is a lovely small contemporary chalet perfect for a romantic couple getaway or small family. Great for 2 couples | 2nd bedroom is a loft.
It features small full kitchen | dining | lounge and log fire opening onto a large balcony with BBQ all overlooking the beautiful surrounding Mountains which are snow-capped in winter

The space
Mal and I have designed this very popular Glasshouse spa chalet to provide guests with a cosy, romantic and unique mountain getaway to take in views of the surrounding Alpine mountains from the large deck or private spa.
The chalet features a romantic master bedroom with quality French bed linens.

Glasshouse is set quite high on our 5 acre property with lovely mountain views in winter and filtered views thru the trees in summer from all rooms and the large deck where BBQ, outdoor setting and sun lounge are provided.
It is a small cosy chalet which sleeps #4 people which can be:
1 couple (Q/S bed) or 2 couples (2 x Q/S beds) or a family with 2-3 children but NOT suitable for very young kids or older guests as steps are steep to 2nd loft bedroom. Suitability for chalet size is no more than 4 adults to stay.
If 3 children in a family requiring to stay with 2 adults it will be 1 x queen bed and 1 x single mattress on the floor beside for the children in loft.
Please be sure to nominate the exact amount of guests staying on your reservation.
We have a lovely shared pool on our property for summer use and the river is very close by for swimming as well.

Guest access
There is a swimming pool for summer use only and a pier on our lagoon where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine or dinner.
For winter stays there are many local ski shops for hiring or purchasing ski gear.

The cabin is set on a private 10-acre property, which is shared with the main residence which is positioned further along the driveway.

Our Cabin is a very creatively restored workers shed, therefore some of the ceiling lines in the bedroom and bathroom are lower than usual.

The Banya place is the ultimate entertainer's cabin. Sleeping up to 12 people, it's a perfect group escape for nature lovers, adrenaline junkies and anyone looking for an alpine getaway.

The space
With super comfortable bedding, a well-equipped kitchen and fast broadband internet it can be perfect for extended stays.
Outside you’ll find 2.2m diameter stainless steel spa, a large Sauna trailer, an outdoor hot shower and a firepit with a BBQ grill option. Get the Bluetooth speaker and outdoor projector connected and enjoy a cinema night under the stars while relaxing in the spa.
There are two toilet/shower rooms located OUTSIDE the cabin each containing a toilet, hot water shower & basin, with one also featuring a washing machine.
No toilets are available inside the cabin.

Fully self-contained and accommodating up to four people, our Cabins offer the perfect accommodation for your family or group get-together. Relax by the adjacent undercover deck and BBQ area or get out and about by exploring Bright and the stunning surrounds.

Climate controlled all year round, our Standard Cedar Cabins offer an open plan living area with lounge, dining and a fully equipped kitchen featuring a large fridge/freezer, microwave and gas cooktop. The main sleeping zone features a queen-sized bed, whilst the second bedroom consists of a set of bunks. (We do not recommend adults stay in the bunk beds, due to size and comfort )

The space
Mal and I have designed our ever popular Snowgum chalet at Dreamers for 1 couple (no children over 9-10 months old and is not suitable for the older folk or immobile guests due to the low sunken lounge and a couple of steps)
We offer our guests a wonderful unique and romantic country escape to take in fresh air and mountain views:
It features a cosy unique sunken lounge with real log fire and all firewood is provided for your winter stay.
Excellent free wifi and mobile phone service is easily accessed in the chalet.
Snowgum romantic and private outdoor balcony spa (concrete hot tub) and sun lounges are only 1 step from the front door.
Winter snow Views over the mountains from the spa and chalet are lovely. Robes and candles are provided for added ambience and a complimentary bottle of wine is supplied for every couple.

A reverse cycle air-conditioner, ceiling fan and quality French linens and towels are provided.
There is a quaint Japanese inspired loft, TV DVD and DVD library are located in the cosy sunken lounge below.
The chalet is ONLY suitable for 1 couple with strictly NO children or pets allowed. A baby under 9 months or prior to crawling is fine.
The bed is an exceptionally comfortable King bed, with no single bed option.
We have a lovely shared pool on our property for summer use and the river is very close by for swimming as well.
Laundry facilities are provided in a nearby space.
Cafes|wineries|restaurants are short walk | drive in Mt Beauty or Bright or Beechworth.

Guest access
A shared on-site summer use pool is located on the 5 acre property for your use with your own safety responsibility.

Other things to note
Whilst Snowgum is a beautiful chalet we do not provide 5 star services but a lovely chalet for your accommodation needs (no meals provided).
We strive to provide our guests a relaxing atmosphere to unwind and holiday.
We are not a perfect 5 star resort but a relaxed country property.
If you require a 5 star property/ accommodation we are not for you.

Snowgum chalet is quite secluded and located on a 5 acre Dreamers property with a couple of our other accommodation room options as well which are also listed on Air B and B site in Mt Beauty-Tawonga South:
