Sugar Cane Cottage is located on the eastern end of Sugar Cane Beach looking out across Mangrove Bay towards the west. It is the sister cottage to Sunset Studio (www.vrbo.com/4623361ha), which is located at the other end of the beach. It is 10 minutes from Dockyard and 15 minutes from the main beaches.

It is a single room studio unit with a loft space for sleeping, modelled on the tiny house concept. There is a king sized bed in the loft area, together with small built in closets either side of the bed. The living area comprises a corner sofa unit that can convert to 2 single beds. The kitchenette is a very compact “galley” style kitchen that has a full stove, fridge/freezer, toaster & electric kettle. Flat screen TV in lounge and loft area with fire tv and firestick, internet access, air-conditioning throughout. The bathroom has a large shower.

The unit has direct access to our beach. The front patio overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Western side of the unit. On the Northern and Eastern sides are a larger patio area with a built in seating area and comfortable deck furniture & bar-b-que area.

The exterior of the unit is designed to resemble the wooden cottages built in Somerset in the late 19th – early 20th Centuries, by West Indian workers who were brought to the Island to work at Dockyard. The patio area overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Northern side of the unit. On the Southern side will be a sheltered garden with a bar-b-que area (once the landscaping is finished).

Sea View Mews is a newly-renovated cottage in a lush, private garden setting, just a few steps from the beach at Cambridge Beaches. It has one queen bedroom with en suite bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine, a large living/dining room, a beautiful walled garden with sunken dining area and BBQ, outdoor shower and direct access to the beach. There is a charging point for electric cars and plenty of parking. There is super-fast Wifi, perfect for your work-from-home respite in Bermuda. We have incorporated green technology - solar power and water filtration system for a comfortable, guilt-free stay!

There is a bus stop and supermarket a short walk away, as well as the other amenities of Somerset Village. Guests can use the restaurants and spa at Cambridge Beaches hotel, a short walk through the garden gate. You can also rent water sports equipment, mopeds and electric cars close by.

You will have complete private use of the cottage and garden during your stay.

We have Abby the Dalmatian and Sammy the Cocker Spaniel on the property, so you must be dog-friendly :). They can be kept out of the private mews garden if you wish. We welcome you to bring your dog with you, but have to say no to cats.

We provide beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkelling equipment, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, washer and dryer. There is air conditioning and fast WiFi (500mbps) and redundant capacity with two separate networks - one fibre, one wireless.

We are located in the heart of Somerset, in a private 2-acre property set back from the quiet Cambridge Road. The historic Naval Dockyard and the South Shore beaches are an easy bus ride away, or you can nip there on your moped or Twizy. Ferries run from nearby Watford Bridge to Hamilton in the morning and afternoon and from Dockyard all day.

We provide bicycles you can use to explore the area, including the nearby tranquil Railway Trail. We are both keen cyclists and can provide recommendations for places to visit by bicycle.

Jonah is an artist who has his studio nearby and you are welcome to visit. Jonah's work can be seen at Jonah-art

- "We had the most fabulous stay at Sea View, everything was available to make your stay comfortable, the back garden was a lovely sun spot late afternoon when you could soak up the last of the sun perfect. The short walk to the beach made our day each morning. Buses 7 and 8 are only a 5 minute walk from sunview along with the local supermarket. Jo and Jonah were the perfect hosts along with the dogs. We would definitely return." - "Quiet, lovely, close to buses. Lots of space in the flat, well appointed, good kitchen/bathroom/living space. Comfortable access to property (bikes, kayak, garden etc..).We found the buses were the best connection to good beaches, but the local area was nice. It was good to be away from the road, and away from all-inclusive. It felt like home."

The pool house has a queen bed and its own bathroom + shower. It is next to our house in a spacious yard in a quiet residential neighborhood. The bus stop is a 3 minute walk, while the beautiful John Smith's Bay beach is a 5 minute walk and the grocery store is 12 minutes away. We have a Labrador on the property so this is not a good fit unless you like dogs. :)

The kitchen area includes a small fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, electric kettle, hot plate, microwave and a toaster oven. There is no oven in the unit. There is a gas grill that is available for your use.

We also have another rental unit on the property, which is great if you want to travel with another couple/ friends. It is VRBO 969757 - please check it out! The other unit has a stove too.

You will have the pool house all to yourselves during the stay. You are also welcome to enjoy the pool which is right outside your door! It also makes this property unsuitable for children under 12. There is plenty of parking should you decide to rent a 50cc motor bike or a Twizy electric mini car. We also have a Twizy charging station on the property for your convenience.

We have towels, beach towels, iron, hair dryer and shampoo all here for your use. There is cable TV (includes HBO and Showtime), free wifi and air conditioning/ dehumidifier/ heat.

Bermuda's largest nature reserve, Spittal Pond is a 10 minute walk from our property. It is a great, diverse walk. There are 2 very good restaurants in Flatts Village about a mile away, Rustico and the Village Pantry. Flatts is also home to the Bermuda Aquarium. Collectors Hill area is about a mile away and has a few restaurants, a pharmacy, grocery store and a gas station. Hamilton and St. Georges are each about a 15 minute taxi or bike ride away and offer many restaurants and shopping.

Sunrises, Sunsets, Snorkeling and Whales. Sand Dollar faces south, and no matter the time of year or weather, the sunrises and sunsets are beautiful and memorable.

Whale watching with frequent sightings of migrating humpbacks early in the mornings and early evenings during March, April, and sometimes into May, June and beyond. The whales are often within half a mile of the beach as they come in during the night to protect their young.

You can even see large parrot fish feeding on the reefs close to the shore right from Sand Dollar’s patio overlooking the beach.

- "Our group throughly enjoyed our stay at Steven's place. The house was clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels and the beds were comfortable. It is a short walk down the stairs to the private beach. We loved our stay. We rode the bus which stops right at the end of the driveway. We would recommend to anyone wanting a stay in a quiet not touristy part of the island. Steven he and his "team" were great and communicated before and during our stay was wonderful!"

Sleeps 6 -- Master bedroom with queen bed and private bath; separate bedroom with two twin beds. A private living room with fire place and pull-out queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space. Large and bright great room spills onto the porch. The house is in wonderful condition -- with a well-kept garden and fresh and clean interior. Enjoy the garden from the porch -- for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take a short walk down Tween Walls to enjoy the property's private waterfront with wonderful views of Mangrove Bay, Somerset Village and the point at Dock Yard. Venture down the steps to the cottage's tiny, private beach backed by limestone cliffs.

- "Our family of four (couple in our 50s, 1 teenager, 1 in early 20s) loved staying here. Beth responded to us so quickly. The grounds are huge and beautiful. We watched the stars from the chairs on the back porch every night we were there. The house itself worked really well for us. It is large for a family of four, and the layout is great. It's well-equipped (beach towels, shower outside to wash your feet off, washer and dryer, and more). We enjoyed the location - walking distance from several bus stops, a grocery store, a nice, uncrowded beach (Somerset Long Bay Park - it looked like it would be fantastic for little kids), H20 Sports (we went there twice - once to go kayaking and paddle boarding and once to rent a boat and go snorkeling for the day - definitely a highlight), the Cambridge Beaches Resort (we ate lunch at Breezes and wandered around the property), and a good Italian/pizza place (il Pomodoro). If you take the bus (we got bus passes and were glad we did - we enjoyed taking the buses everywhere), definitely allow some time as the buses don't always come when they're technically supposed to. We had a wonderful week in Bermuda and greatly enjoyed staying at this property!"

1 bed cottage near beaches , tourist attractions, Port Royal Golf course, bus routes and restaurants. Fully air conditioned for comfort with internet tv in both rooms as well as free wifi . The cottage has a shower as well as a separate tub to soak in bliss. The kitchen is stocked with basics but on arrival you will be taken to the grocery store for a quick shop of preferred items .Excellent location for overflow guests coming to a wedding or a golfing holiday. The Port Royal Golf course is only 7 minutes away if you wish to play on a PGA level course. Reliable taxi service is easily arranged for convenience of guests

Across the street from the cottage is a private dock where you can sit out and have relaxing drinks or go for a swim or kayak. The sunsets are memorable ! You set the pace !!

In the evenings if you want to just relax and be serenaded by the sounds of crickets and whistling tree frogs while enjoying a glass of wine , sit out on the patio and enjoy the evening concert.

There is a bus stop within 100 yards of the house to get you where you want to go and restaurants within walking distance as well as a walking railway trail to see more of the natural beauty of the island. Should you not use public transport but prefer to rent an electric vehicle, there is a charge point at the cottage for your car

Thomas goes above and beyond to provide assistance and suggestions when needed. He spent nearly an hour with us reviewing maps and making suggestions on restaurants, beaches, activities, and car rental. The cottage is clean and comfortable with a large living room, fully stocked kitchen and large bedroom with very comfortable king bed. Plenty of drawers and closet space to unpack. Beach towels, etc are included, as well as kayaks across the street at the private dock on the bay. Unless you plan to use the buses, you will need a Bermi or Twizzy or scooter to get around as it’s a very long walk to any beaches and restaurants. Otherwise it’s a 5 minute drive to the best beaches in Bermuda. If you are not a deep sleeper you will need earplugs at night cause the noise from the roosters is loud and starts at 5am each morning. Walking up the tribal road to the lighthouse is a long, steep and slippery climb, not recommended for many adults. With use of a Bermi, the cottage is in a great location to visit everything on the island. We loved our stay there and would come back again."

· Between the kitchen and living room is a full sized bathroom with a walk in glass shower.
The Loft
· Upstairs is the cozy loft bedroom with a queen size bed, wardrobe, closet and dresser.
· Beautiful bedding, towels, and beach towels are included.
There is plenty of storage for your suitcases either in the bedroom or downstairs in the storage area off the kitchen.
Outside
· Off the kitchen is a European styled patio with a pergola sporting a stunning bougainvillea and outdoor table and chairs for your outdoor dining. There is a full sized grill in this area which Charles and Sonia are happy for you to use.
· Just to the side of the patio you will see the beautiful waters of Mullet Bay. The lower deck is a fabulous area to relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Bay.

ENJOY ALL THAT BERMUDA HAS TO OFFER
A 10-minute walk from the property you will find the historical town of St. George, a world heritage site and once the capital of Bermuda, where you can visit many historical sites, such as the State House and St. Peter’s Church, the oldest Anglican Church in the Western Hemisphere. You will find many cobblestone streets to explore and not far from the main Square, you will find the Unfinished Church, forts and two beautiful beaches, Tobacco Bay and Fort St. Catherine. The town of St. George includes numerous restaurants, bars, gift shops, a pharmacy, two Banks where you can access ATM machines and a water sports business. You can also take advantage of many walking tours. During certain months, a ferry operates from St. George’s to Dockyard another area with many historical features. From there you are able to connect with a ferry to take you into Hamilton, Bermuda’s capital and main shopping area.
Scuba diving excursions, paddle boarding, boat rental, golf courses, the beautiful Southside beaches and Coopers Nature Reserve are all within a 10-minute drive. Sonia will be available to share any information that you may require and there will be leaflets on the coffee table giving you as much information as possible.

GETTING AROUND

You cannot rent cars in Bermuda.
One of the main bus routes is a 2-minute walk from the property. All buses are air-conditioned and you are able to travel all the way to the beautiful South Shore Beaches, which you may have read about. Just ask our friendly bus drivers for a bus transfer and transfer in Hamilton. Bus and ferry tickets are available for purchase in St. George at the Post Office.
Scooters are available to rent in Bermuda, but the latest rental on the market is the Renault Twizy electric car. Please explore what these cars have to offer by visiting www.currentvehicles.com. The owners have installed the necessary charging port onsite.
Should you require a taxi at any time, Bermuda successfully offers Bermuda Taxi Service - they can be contacted. There will also be available business cards of taxi drivers that Sonia and Charles can recommend and who operate out of the St. George area. Taxi fares can be quite expensive but very safe and all drivers are approved by the Bermuda Transport Control Department, as are their vehicles.

Location:
This one bedroom self catering cottage has been finished to the highest standard with granite counters and stainless steel appliances and beautiful high beamed ceilings. The cottage is private from the main house which is situated high on a hill and overlooks Harrington Sound and North Shore. We are centrally located in Smith's parish which puts you perfectly placed in the middle of the island to explore either end. Away from everything in a quiet space yet close enough to enjoy all that Bermuda has to offer at your leisure.

The Cottage:
The cottage has a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen pull out couch in the living room. There is a little deck outside to sit and enjoy the view. An awning has been installed to provide shade. Head up the steps to the side of the cottage, have a seat and enjoy the view. Wander the property and enjoy the view from the main house. Gorgeous sunrise and sunset views from this very high vantage point.

The cottage is not safe or suitable for children under 12 years of age.

Linens are provided including beach towels.

Included in the cottage is smart tv, (use your own streaming ID’s) free high speed internet access and wifi, black box VOD & TV, full fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer and a lovely stand up shower. We provide a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towel, soaps, WINE!, coffee&tea.

Two sets of Snorkel gear and two lovely robes provided for your use while enjoying the cottage. Please leave them for the next guest.

The Pool:

Hours are 9 am to 6 pm only. No exceptions.

Killer pool which the main house kindly shares with the cottage. This is subject to change on days we are entertaining guests but would advise our guests of any changes. Pool is NOT heated. Hot tub heat and jets are NOT available to guests.

Getting Around:

The cottage is a 5 minute(400 Metres) walk to the #3 bus at the bottom of our lane and another 5 minute (400 Metres) walk to the 10 and 11 bus. I provide you with your first bus pass for your party to get into Hamilton.

15 minutes drive to airport

10 minutes drive to City of Hamilton (4 miles away).

Johns Smiths Bay beach on South Shore is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk for those that like to get in their exercise.
Shelly Bay beach on North Shore is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk the other way.

Flatts Village is a pleasant 10 minute walk with restaurants a corner store and the Aquarium & Zoo.

For you walkers out there Bermuda is surprisingly hilly terrain with sidewalks on only some of the roads. So do take due care while you enjoy your walk about.

Harrington Hundreds grocery store is a 5 minute drive.

Bike rentals are available from many vendors. They will deliver and pick up so do just ask me and I can put you in the right direction to arrange this.

The rental electric car is also an option and there is a charging station installed and space to park two side by side right at the cottage.

Taxi is an easy option but I do recommend booking in advance where you can to ensure you get one when you want it. Install Hitch on you phone for ease of booking.

We liked being able to make our own coffee and breakfast before setting out for the day! The pool area was gorgeous but we didn’t get to use it during our stay due to our schedule. Bed was comfortable and place was clean. There are even a few board games so I had to let my husband win at scrabble. The hosts were amazing and accommodating to anything we needed. They even set up the taxi for airport transfer. Wonderful stay and will be back!"

This property is an older Bermuda Cottage overlooking Mangrove Bay near the quaint Village of Somerset, which has access to bus and ferries and local bars, restaurants and shops.

The property is a self-contained cottage, located at the scenic west end of Bermuda, very close to the historic Royal Naval Dockyard. Quaint Somerset Village with its bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance, as are the calmer beaches of Mangrove Bay and Somerset Long Bay.

- "Friendly hosts, great location, would book it again." - "Our week in Bermuda turned out to be cold, windy, and rainy. We ended up playing games in front of a warm fire instead of snorkeling at the beach. Not at all what we'd expected, but we can't control the weather and made the best of the situation. Our trip would have been pretty disappointing if not for Tom and Sage Cottage. Tom was a fantastic host. He's a local who knows the island well and showed us all of the best spots. A bus stop is close by and busses are frequent/easy to navigate. Sage Cottage had plenty of privacy for our group of two couples. Much of the artwork was painted by members of the Watlington family, so it was fun to see. Washer and dryer in unit were a great convenience. Lots of extra towels and beach towels. We bought groceries from the Market (easy walking distance) and cooked quite a few meals at home. Tom recommended Il Pomodoro, a delicious pizza place just down the street. Easy to walk to and we went a few times because the pizza was so good. We also enjoyed dinner a more expensive but really delicious dinner at the Sunken Harbor in Cambridge Beaches. Saltine sits on the mouth of Hungry Bay. Hungry Bay is a nature reserve on the south coast of Bermuda. It was established in 1986 and is considered the best example of coastal mangrove reserve on the island. We purchased bus/ferry passes which made getting around Bermuda easy and inexpensive. The walk to the nearest grocery store to this property has steep slopes which made it difficult for us when lugging our purchases. Warning...if you have problem knees or can't walk on slopes I would recommend renting transportation or getting taxis."

Waste Disposal:
• Trash is collected on Thursdays
• Recycling is collected on Fridays
Please move bins to the top of the driveway on collection days. Blue bags for recycling are provided.

Energy Conservation:
Before heading out, please turn off lights and set the A/C to 22–23°C on the dehumidifier cycle (the teardrop setting). This helps us keep rates affordable and reduce our environmental impact.

You’re welcome to toss safe leftover food to the fish from the dock—just avoid anything you wouldn’t eat yourself.

Walking might not be ideal for the faint of heart as there are a few spots without sidewalk, but Hitch drivers (Bermuda’s Uber equivalent) were always available and there are bus stops just a few steps away. Susan was a great host. She made sure we got in OK and answered any questions but didn’t impose at all. We would absolutely stay at the Boathouse again. The property is —like so much of Bermuda — amazing."

The highlight of KC Retreat is our beautiful private dock where you can start your mornings with a cup of coffee as the sun rises or wind down in the evening with a swizzle under the stars! Whether you want to sunbathe, swim or simply relax and watch the boats, turtles and fish, the dock is exclusively yours to enjoy. If you're feeling adventurous, take a paddleboard or kayak out and explore the surrounding coastline of Mullet Bay, Ferry Reach and St. George's Harbour.

Beyond the dock, our three quarter acre property features enchanting relaxation areas with comfortable chairs thoughtfully placed, allowing you to soak in the serene waterfront and tranquil garden views from different vantage points.

Inside, the cottage is designed for comfort and relaxation with a cozy living space, dining table with a view and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a couch and reclining chair looking onto a 50" TV with Sonos beam sound bar. The galley kitchen contains all the tools you need to prepare a meal. Fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave are available plus an electric kettle, drip coffee maker and toaster.

The bedroom with bathroom ensuite invites restful sleep after your island adventures. Enjoy the newly added California king sized bed perfectly positioned to look out over the blue waters of Mullet Bay. Standing mirrored armoire and dresser round out the furnishings in this room. A full bathroom is attached with new sleek glass shower door and modern shower system.

Hi, This charming cottage is nestled in a 5 acre private family estate surrounded by tropical gardens. Our property is in somerset village with banks,shops and restaurants (it is also a 2min walk to the bus & beaches -5min to ferry and supermarkets) It also has a fabulous resort near by that offers a variety of water sport and even a spa. The Royal Naval Dockyard is also near by- full of alternative activities to enhance your vacation including- museums, art galleries, karaoke, dancing, etc.

The space
This space has freshly been painted white and is full of Bermuda cedar. It has a working fireplace. We provide fans throughout the house and air conditionings in the bedrooms. The architecture is in the true vernacular of Bermuda architecture.
