A cute cottage on a 1.85 hectare property very private (we live in the main house on the other side of the property)
Relax in a rural setting lots of trees expansive lawn and a short stroll down a path to the beach and rock pools at low tide. (sandy swimming beach 5 mins drive) Great for star gazing on a clear night. No wifi or T.V.
Riversdale Beach has a store with basic groceries, burgers, takeaways, coffee,wine, and beer.
We love our special place in paradise and love sharing a unique part of New Zealand with others. A number of interesting garden artworks can be seen in the large rustic garden.
Castlepoint is a 40 minute drive away - the lighthouse can be seen flashing at night from the property.
Craypot Cottage is situated on a working farm so please follow the signs regarding driving very slowly through the yards and 30 km elsewhere to safeguard animals and keep down dust in dry weather.
Riversdale Beach has lovely walks along the beach and walkways up hills wandering through the new subdivision and southern beach walkway for those wanting a decent climb.

Cobwebs Cottage is a delightful self contained accommodation for 2 people. Situated in the homestead garden this charming cottage over looks the tennis court and ocean.
Cobwebs is very comfortable with all the ' mod cons' . TV, SKY,DVD, microwave. It has a queen size bed and large ensuite complete with claw foot bath.
We do provide a light breakfast . cereal/tea/coffee/milk etc. But please bring your own bread.
Cobwebs is only a short stroll to the beautiful beach at Riversdale where you can walk, swim or fish. Riversdale also over a wonderful 9 hole golf course that welcomes visitors and a local store where you can get a latte and takeaways. What more could you want.
We are also a wedding venue. A marquee can be placed on the land in front of the Homestead, among the olive trees looking out to the ocean.
We have accommodation for over 30 people here on the station so plenty of beds for guests.

Country Bliss Cottage is an original historic Greytown cottage its origins dating back to the 1880's . The cottage still retains its character and charm but with modern day comforts. The garden is private and sunny with an abundance of bird life, mature fruit trees and cottage garden flowers. The decor is a mixture of vintage and new with quality furnishings throughout . A roaring log-fire with all firewood supplied makes for a cosy winter retreat.
There are two bikes supplied that can be used on the nearby Woodside Rail Trail or biking around the picturesque streets of Greytown.

Roses on West cottage was built in 2007 replicating the old colonial style of the mid 1800's but because it is a recent build it affords all that is good about todays construction but has the ambience of a past era i.e high ceilings, sash windows etc.

The cottage has established gardens such as box hedging and roses, several camilla's and other flowering shrubs also high hedging offers you a private setting for outdoor activities.

The early morning sun streams into the fully equipped spacious kitchen as it finds it's way to the front of the house by the afternoon where you may wish to relax and read a book or perhaps enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda.

There is a spa bath as well as a shower in the tiled bathroom for you to relax in before or after your days activities if you wish to do so.

If it is privacy, ambience, comfort and close proximity to all Greytowns attractions we think Roses on West ticks all those boxes.
Special conditions:
Departure needs to be no later than 10.30am as the cottage is serviced at that time.

Servicing Charges
The base rate for the cottage is for one room only. If you are a couple the rate per night is for one room but if you need to use the 2nd bedroom there is a one off charge of $50. The same also applies to 2 single guests using both rooms there will be a one off charge of $50.

Our property has 2 separate Bach's:
Bach 1 - has a separate master bedroom (queen bed) and an open plan lounge with a double sofa bed and full kitchen.
Bach 2 - is our studio unit with a queen bed in the lounge as well as a double sofa bed and full kitchen (open plan)

We are a dog friendly accommodation - ($20 per day for your pooch's stay) please add this to your initial booking so we are aware that you are bringing your furry friend.

Other points to note:
(1) Internet coverage in the Bach's is limited due to the location of the tower across the Lake and the trees on our Property, there is coverage in the reserve next door.
(2) One.nz (ex Vodafone) - there is next to zero coverage in the whole village.

Both Bach's are situated in a lovely quiet garden surround and next to a large green grass Reserve. The Reserve leads straight onto the Lake.

The Lake Ferry Hotel and beach are less than a 10 minutes walk away in the Lake Ferry Village.

The Pirinoa Store and Land Girl Cafe are a 6 minute drive before the Lake Ferry Village

Tourist attractions include: Ngawi Village, Palliser Bay Lighthouse, the Putangirua Pinnacles and Martinborough - all within a 20 minute drive.

Doggie Rules - Strictly no dogs on the furniture, all dogs must be well managed out of respect for other guests. If you have not paid for your pooch in advance you will be asked on arrival for the cost of their stay.

Manganui Cottage is situated on a South Wairarapa dairy farm, tucked under the Remutaka Ranges just off the Western Lake Road. After over 100 years as the home of farm owners and workers alike, it has begun a new chapter in it's history as a holiday home.

This two bedroom cottage with a spacious living area provides peace and quiet while still being in easy reach of popular South Wairarapa towns and all that they have to offer. Ocean Beach is handy, Lake Ferry an easy drive, or make it a day trip to Cape Palliser.

We are 15 mins walking to the cafes and shops. The cottage is located next to our barns on a small lifestyle block. There is one queen bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The kitchen is separate from both bedroom and lounge. There is a veranda outside the front of the cottage and a deck at the side off the lounge.

Relax 10 minutes from town in a charming country cottage with all mod cons. The Wairarapa is home to the native cockroach. Although our homes are professionally sprayed and treated yearly you may see the odd one during your stay.

Manganui Cottage is situated on a South Wairarapa dairy farm, tucked under the Remutaka Ranges just off the Western Lake Road. After over 100 years as the home of farm owners and workers alike, it has begun a new chapter in it's history as a holiday home. This two bedroom cottage with a spacious living area provides peace and quiet while still being in easy reach of popular South Wairarapa towns and all that they have to offer. Very close proximity to the East West Access Rd.

Ocean Beach is handy, Lake Ferry an easy drive, or make it a day trip to Cape Palliser.

The cottage can be easily accessed from the popular cycle trail and is in close proximity to a DOC walking track into the Remutaka Forest Park.

The kitchen is complete with all the essentials & a generous selection of coffee pods will kickstart your morning.

The main bedroom features a comfortable queen, while the second bedroom offers two king singles.

Protea Cottage is located just across the driveway from our main house. While it shares a common parking area, the cottage offers a private yard, ensuring guests enjoy their own space and privacy.

Taraview Cottage is set in beautiful rural surroundings but only 2kms from Greytown village.
The half acre section is fully fenced so it is safe for children or your dog to run about on.
The cottage is fully equipped and all the linen is supplied.
Taraview is spacious and sleeps 4 people and kept warm with a woodburner with plenty of wood.

This two story bach has the kitchen / living room and two bedrooms upstairs. Both rooms have queen beds.
As well as a fabulous sheltered back deck for bbq's in the evening and a cosy front balcony overlooking the street and a sea view. Downstairs is the third bedroom (2 single beds) and main bathroom, which then also leads out to the huge backyard and the playground.
The internal stairs are very narrow and steep, so the safety gate should be used at all times for children, please. This house is NOT suitable for very young children or older people because of the steep stairs!
All kitchen utensils are supplied .
Please bring your own sheets/pillowcases and towels, including beach towels. thankyou- this keeps the price down.....we can make your beds if you're unable to because you are traveling.

Water is to be conserved at all times in the SUMMER months.

Also, take your own rubbish with you or for longer stays, use the recycling bins and the Masterton council blue bags. (extras can be bought at the shop). Rubbish days are Friday and Mondays in the summer and just Monday the rest of the year.

Houses in Riversdale have untreated rainwater gathered from the roof into tanks. This water is not filtered. Most people drink it this way, but if you do have concerns with it, then please bring your own drinking water. Also, in the summer months, conserve the water please and limit showers to 3 minutes:)
The wood is in the shed, so please help yourself.

The Cottage is now 11 years old and although built with modern materials imitates the design of an early NZ settlers Cottage. It is light and airy and comfortable and is fully equipped to the extent that it can be used as a permanent residence.
The Cottage sleeps a total of 8 with 2 double bedrooms - 1 is en suite - plus a mezzanine that has 2 single beds that is accessed by a small ladder, plus an annexe to the main living area that doubles as a double bedroom with a very comfortable sofa bed.

The location is 15/20 minutes walk from the Town center where there are several very good cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarket. The Martinborough area produces worlds class wine and particularly Pinot Noir and winery tours with tastings are very popular but cycle hire touring is fun.

Guests can use all of the Cottage except the hall cupboard where we keep personal belongings and the garden shed which we keep locked as security when the Cottage is unoccupied.
Guests can also use the Cottage Grove Community tennis and petangue courts - there is equipment by the TV.
There is a gas barbeque at the rear of the Cottage that guests are welcome to use.

Oak Cottage is sited on two plots of land that total almost 1 acre with one plot devoted to Olive Trees that produce olive oil for us and also for sale. The home plot has been developed as a garden with a wide variety of fruit and citrus trees. There are two areas that are used for alfresco eating one on the Cottage Patio/Pergola and the other near trees that give shade. .

Hiwinui Cottage (circa 1890) is a completely private, self contained country cottage set in its own peaceful garden surrounded by 500 acres of attractive farmland.

Centrally located between Martinborough, Featherston and Greytown.

Ideal for a family holiday with plenty of rural charm. We do not have Wifi, unplug the kids for the weekend!

Colourful decor, polished floors and woodburner give a very welcoming atmosphere.

Butterfly Cottage is a picture book little late 1800s cottage, oozing charm and character. The cottage is steeped in the history of Martinborough. It was once a hairdresser’s shop, then a residence, located on The Square. It was relocated to Malcolm Street in the early 20th century where it was the first home on the street.

Less than 10 minutes (600 metres) walk from Martinborough’s vibrant Square, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the village, the wineries and the Wairarapa region.

The space
Butterfly Cottage is a charming, very old, mostly unchanged home from early Martinborough.

Parking is right in front of the cottage on the gravel area. There is room for two small or one large vehicle.

The cottage is kept cosy and comfortable by a heat pump/air conditioner in the lounge. Entertainment available with wifi, bluetooth speaker/radio, Netflix, Prime, Freeview and Chromecast. There is a comfy, large two seater leather couch and two fabric armchairs. There are plenty of books to read and a few board games in the hutch.

There’s a small kitchen with everything you need, including a Nespresso machine, fridge freezer, stove and fold out dining table for the compact dining area.

The main bedroom has a superbly comfortable, firm, super-king bed and French doors which open out onto a deck - perfect for breakfast or for a relaxing glass of famous Martinborough pinot noir. The second bedroom has a firm queen sized bed and an original decorative fireplace.

The bathroom has a roll top bath with shower over bath.

No laundry facilities are available at the cottage but there is a laundromat at the local BP service station.

***The cottage is very, very old and not overly modernised. The floors slope slightly and some of the floorboards are creaky and can be a little uneven. We think it’s all part of Butterfly Cottage’s charm but if you’re a little unsteady in your feet, this wee cottage might not be the best fit for you.

Much of the furniture is bespoke. Enjoy breakfast out in the courtyard with freshly laid eggs from our freerange hens (if they are feeling generous!). Over the years we have been planting trees - lots of trees - if you would like to help us in our gradual re-afforestation you can help plant some of our home grown natives or purchase a good quality eco-sourced native from Norfolk Road nursery - we would be delighted to plant it for you!

Putting green, orchards, garden - often with produce you can sample, private regenerating bush and wetland walks, paddocks with sheep and friendly (usually!) horses. The putting green ( this is not to professional standards!) is literally on your doorstep and is available (depending on ground conditions) for you to practice your short game, You can book a private short game lesson with Jeremy, an ex New Zealand representative golfer.

Welcome to The Sows Ear @ Rahui 🐷. 45 mins east of Masterton. A renovated cottage in the beautiful established Rahui gardens 🌸 You cant get much more rural than this. No phones, no wifi , just good old fashioned being 'present', hanging out with Mother Nature, listening to the birds, and enjoying the company you are with. Rahui has 3 houses on it, We are in the front house. You may see us walking about, or quad bikes. Rent the ebikes for a sweet as ride to the coast.

India House is a charming, rustic, fully furnished 3-bedroom holiday cottage (all twin rooms), overlooking a small lake, set in 20 acres of lawns and grounds surrounding the historic Ica Station Homestead.

The space
Rural yet close to two local beaches (Riversdale and Castlepoint), this is the ideal place to come for a totally relaxing holiday or short break in Summer or Winter!

The wood fire keeps you 'toasty and warm' in the Winter - with all the wood you need supplied!

Just a short stroll across the lawns to the back of the homestead to enjoy the spa pool all year round, or cool down in our swimming pool in the Summer months.

Please note there is only limited Wifi at this cottage and no cell phone reception. We give you a 2GB voucher for Wifi - please ask when you arrive. You do get 'Spark' cell phone reception at our main gate - a short walk down the wooded entrance.

The space
You have the entire property to yourself - no host in sight!

The home is made up of three bedrooms - Bedroom 1 has a king size firmer mattress; Bedroom 2 has a queen size slightly softer mattress; Bedroom 3 has a single bed with a good innersprung mattress and a pull out single as well. These can be put together to make a super king bed.

The couch in the lounge also pulls out and is able to sleep another two people.

The deck is a sunny peaceful spot for morning coffee and the plumpy fireside sofa perfect for sinking into with a glass of wine. The Gatehouse is only six minutes drive from Martinborough and 11 minutes to Greytown. It has two bedrooms with queen beds, one a four poster, a kitchen/dining space and new bathroom with shower (high pressure system installed Oct 2022).

The space
The Gatehouse is a cosy two-bedroomed cottage with separate living room and kitchen/dining area. It is newly decorated in a simple uncluttered style. Sash windows on the north side of the cottage fill the rooms with light. A woodburner and heat pump and plenty of rugs keep you warm in winter. The deck just off the kitchen is a warm and sheltered spot with morning sun, perfect for breakfast. A picket fence surrounds the lawn and newly planted hedges, ensuring your privacy. The host lives down the driveway and is very happy to answer any queries or provide recommendations.

A hidden gem in the middle of Martinborough, Fig Tree Cottage is a one-minute walk from The Square - the centre of Martinborough Wine Village - home of award winning wines, restaurants and boutique shopping.
While close to the town and amenities, Fig Tree Cottage is private and secluded, as it is amongst a beautiful mature garden. It features a fire and heat pump for warmth in winter; a claw foot bath (with plenty of hot water) for comfort and luxury; and summer decks and outdoor living spaces.
