Originally the coach house for the historic Whangaimoana House this little cottage has been converted to very snug accommodation for two people. Tucked in behind the big house the cottage has its own little private courtyard with outdoor table, chairs, and BBQ. The coastal road is ideal biking and the Palliser Bay water is renowned for diving and fishing.

The open log fire is superb, and supplied with an abundance of perfectly seasoned firewood. The fire was even on upon arrival and the cottage was warm and cosy. The gardens are also beautiful and the location of the property is close to Martinborough and Cape Palliser. This made it a great base to explore from. Jacqueline and Alastair were perfect hosts and are incredibly lovely people. If you want a romantic weekend away with your partner this is definitely the place you want to be. Borders Retreat is a delightful character cottage, situated on a quiet street, tucked away amongst trees with a private driveway for parking.

There are three bedrooms to choose from, the sumptuous mezzanine bedroom, the sunny garden bedroom with french doors out to the garden or the twin bedroom with two single beds. The downstairs bedrooms can be closed off from the rest of the house, leaving the mezzanine bedroom perfectly cosy in the winter with the logburner going.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining area and is just a five minute stroll from the gorgeous cafes, restaurants and designer clothes shops in the town and just around the corner from the supermarket. We are also just a ten minute walk from the new rail trail, which is a lovely walk/biking track for families. We are just a few minutes drive or 15 minute walk from the swimming pool and family play park and a five minute drive from the river.

This gorgeous architecturally designed modern house is xx positioned to maximize the sun and as well as to enjoy the amazing views of the vineyard and the Tararua ranges. There are four outdoor sitting areas three vineyard facing and one a windless courtyard which has outdoor dining and bbq.

The large garden is perfect for the family to run around and play. There is also a
Petanque court. There is access to walk around the adjacent vineyard which can be enjoyed on the weekends and restricted hours during the week days.

The kitchen is well stocked should you wish to use it or there are many fabulous eating and drinking options in and around Martinborough for those who like walking or biking or simply going for a game of golf again there are plenty of places to go. There is an outdoor public pool close by during summer months as well as a dog walk park which is available for giving your dog a run.

The house is warm there is a heatpump as well as a log burner and extra heaters if needed during the winter. We do have concrete floors throughout the house.

The house is located in a semi rural part of town and is a 15 mins walk or 7 min bike ride into the centre of Martinborough
