Second room was very nice upper floor and newer with no smell. The pool guy dumped concentrated bleach into the pool while I was swimming which I thought was probably not a safe thing. - "Not so easy to locate for the first time, but once there, zero regrets with the booking. This was probably the hostel with the most homely feel during my stay in Thailand. It just felt like everyone (staff and hostelmates) were like family. It's a cosy hostel with really cute decor in the common areas. The staff organised awesome social events like cookery classes, trips to watch the boxing and evening trips to Chinatown. I was there during Songkran and it was all just such a great laugh with everybody! Very happy memories to keep with me. Location is terrific. So close to Khao San Road yet not particularly noisy! The Airport bus takes you to a stop approx 60 secs from the hostel. Pro tip: There's a convenient AIS shop just around the corner so you don't need to get ripped off buying a tourist SIM from the airport vendors. I stayed in the city walls dorm and noticed a lack of daylight. The "train" dorm looks better in the photos! Just watch those steps going up to the dorms! Grab on to the rails and don't rush! I kept tripping up on that same uneven one every... single.... time!"

Great location to 7 eleven (2mins walk), BTS (8mins), klong/canal ferry (15mins), night street markets & food was put back on my bed instead of having to collect it.(5mins), dentists & optometrists (5mins), about four malls (12mins). Boxpackers even did my laundry for 100baht - cheapest in Thailand, although admittedly they didn't fold it but it was returned to my 'box' when done. Enjoyed finishing a long day tripping around with a cold Chang and free wifi at 'Period' café which is connected to Boxpackers, perfect for sending emails home and writing travel reviews. The wifi is fast and works everywhere in the Boxpackers and Period buildings. You have to pay 500baht deposit for the key, which is OK coz that was my taxi money to the airport!!"
