If Expedia hadn’t had a photo of the exterior of the hotel, we would not have been able to find it—there is no sign on the buildings with the name of the hotel. The room was TINY, probably @96 SF, and the room is advertised as 204 SF. The clearance at the foot of the bed is about 18” from the wall, and the wall mounted TV projects about 6”, which leaves about 12” of space to walk around the bed. It’s impossible to walk around the bed unless you lean your head away from the wall. Not sure about fire codes in Germany, but this is a major violation in the US. We were truly worried that we would bang our heads into the TV if we had to get up at night and walk around the foot of the bed to get to the bathroom. We spoke to the receptionist and asked to move to a larger room, and she rolled her eyes and said that there aren’t any larger rooms, that she gets complaints all the time from people who see what’s advertised on Expedia, and are expecting a larger room with a desk and chair (which it’s what’s shown in the room photo on Expedia), and that she keeps asking the owners to change the description so it reflects accurate information—but so far, the owner hasn’t made any changes. We had no choice but to stay in the room, and we couldn’t wait to get out of there the following day. We stayed in 24 hotels in 35 days/nights in Europe, and this was the worst hotel experience we had."
