A brilliant rain shower was accompanied by a ‘normal’ one so for the ladies (or longer haired gents) there was no need to have to wash hair at the same time as shower. Internet in the room was fast and efficient, there was a kettle, tea and coffee which was most welcome. Service was extremely friendly especially by the lady who was serving dinner and breakfast. Dinner was high quality restaurant quality; no need to go elsewhere at all. Parking was easy and even if the car park was full due to diners from outside the hotel there was plenty of parking in the village. The village itself was quiet but a good base for cyclists or walkers. The hotel was up on a hill above the castle which could be seen from the bedrooms. I’d stay again any time and would highly recommend this hotel for those wishing to enjoy the countryside views. "
