- "Wonderful starting point for hiking in the mountains around Cogne and Valnuntey." - "WOW, I absolutely loved my stay in this hotel! I travelled alone, but the whole staff made me feel so welcome and relaxed. The two daughters (around my age) were really helpful, regarding practical 'stuff'; and I really appreciated their enthusiasm and support regarding me climbing the Gran Paradiso summit! The breakfast is incredible! Luckily all the hours of walking evened it out calory wise ;). Hotel Herbetet is located in beautiful and very quiet Valnontey, ideal starting point for many magnificant (long) hikes. I wish I could have stayed longer, this region is perfect for nature-loving hikers. The nice little mountain village Cogne is just a quick walk (or drive) away and provides you with cute shops, very good espressos, additional restaurants an a small supermarket. I will definitely return to this hotel some day (hopefully in the near future)!"

We were looking with our kids at their cows in the pasture, and the owner(?) came out and gave our kids food to feed the cows. It was a great start, and it only got better from there. The room was very spacious and clean, the food was amazing, and the location is perfect for hiking in the area. It was simply a wonderful experience.
