- "A lot of wonderful things about this hotel. the surrounding natural beauty and the very beautiful dining room and common rooms with stunning views. The wooden deck surrounding the hotel and outside the spa area is somewhat degraded and even rotten in some places by the hot tub. The breakfast is very nice. We only ate dinner there one night but would not recommend. the food was not great and the fish was really not good. An oddity that there was absolutely no information about hikes or things to do nearby. Of course we had the internet but desk staff seemed befuddled by the request for suggestions. Trails behind the hotel can take you down to the water but are poorly marked and there is no map. (bosque and mar arrows are also backwards) Our room had a small balcony to enjoy the view, but oddly no chairs. Bed was comfortable and cozy. Bathroom very spare. Shower was a plastic walk in like in a camper. no shelf or any place to put soap. Bottom line is that the natural beauty is amazing and the common rooms are extraordinary. It's kind of hard to understand though how every review can be 10 out of 10. "

- "Check-in was flawless. We had texted ahead to ask that hot tub be ready and they confirmed promptly. At check-in we mentioned that this vacation was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we came up from the hot tub, we found in the room a bottle of champagne on ice with two glasses, complements of the hotel. The architecture of the hotel includes traditional elements of southern Chile and lots of glass to take advantage of the spectacular views across the bay to the city of Castro. Dinner and wines were superb and reasonably priced. The staff well trained and very attentive. We will be back!"

Food was consistently excellent. Guests and locals kept the cafe busy. Outdoor patio overlooking the bay; especially nice at high tide on a warm day. The hotel looks new and the room was spacious with sloped ceilings and large windows. The bathroom was small, but clean and functional. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Close to busy road, but no problems sleeping. Bed was comfortable and we were able to sleep late without any problems. Traffic in Castro is horrible so the restaurant was much appreciated. There are several small cafes nearby in restored palafitos. We were able to fully relax and recharge after 6 weeks in Argentina and Chile. Definitely one of the best stays of our trip."
