Breakfast was ordinary-lots of pastries, limited fruit. Fried eggs we ordered turned up looking as if they had been cooked on a dirty barbecue pan and the bacon was inedible. We left both. Front and rear gardens could be lovely, but are poorly maintained. No one bothers to move furniture to mow the grass which is growing wild. Sun loungers in the back are old and broken. The spa is similarly poorly maintained and in need of complete closure and renovation. All in all a pretty disappointing experience for us in the so called “best hotel in Courmayeur”. When I spoke to the manager he became extremely defensive and didn’t seem to accept there was any problem. He asked me to speak to the housekeeping manager about the beds as he “didn’t know how to make a bed”. I refused and told him that was his job. Quite incredible. We live in Asia. This hotel wouldn’t last a week there. "

Distance also makes a bit of a challenge to walk into town for dinners. If you have a car then no issues although parking is minimal in the town center. The hotel is modern and newer so that is a benefit and it is close to the tunnel to Mont Blanc."

- "We have just returned from a week at Hotel D’Olonne (or should I say Chateau D’Olonne). We were excited before arrival, and we were not disappointed. The hotel and its staff ensured a safe, welcoming and comfortable stay. Special shout out to Gloria who ran the reception like a boss. Super food in the atmospheric restaurant (think medieval banquet), and the best Aperol Spritz. Perfectly positioned to the main cable car and boot hire, and a 15 min scenic walk into the centre of town. Thank you xxx"

- "A great stay with a very kind and genuine service" - "We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Centrale whists completing the Tour du Mont Blanc in July 2013. It was a very traditional Italian hotel in an excellent location. The staff were most accommodating and welcoming and always very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic room looking right onto the piazza with a balcony. We really enjoyed our stay here and would like to thank the management for such a lovely and well run hotel. We did not eat at the hotel as plenty of cafes for breakfast."

- "If you are looking for a ski holiday in Courmayeur, I would recommend ski-in ski-out accommodation on Plan Checrouit itself. By staying on Plan Checrouit, you avoid having to queue for the gondola up and down Plan Checrouit, which can get quite busy at peak periods. With certain consecutive day ski passes, going up and down the gondola at night was covered and the gondolas were quite frequent. Super G was located right in-front of the main lifts and it was a luxury to just step out from breakfast and hit the slopes. Breakfast was simple but of high quality. The staff work very hard and were very responsive to requests. If you are driving to Courmayeur, I would advise that you take Super G's parking offer, which sounds expensive but is super useful. Super G's parking is located just below the gondola that you take up to Plan Checrouit. Free parking is difficult to find at Courmayeur especially at peak periods. I spent 90 minutes looking just a few days before the new year. The rooms are nicely kitted out and are comfortable. The music stops at around 5.30pm and it actually becomes rather quiet. If I return to Courmayeur, this would be where I would stay. Thank you, Francesca, Davide and Marvelo for a super stay!"

- "Booked an evening meal with the hotel on line, but discovered that it was not open that evening. Recommended local restaurant within 8 mins walk was excellent. Breakfast mean - no fresh rolls and little choice. Guess we were out of season! Word of warning: depending on your direction of travel to this hotel, Mont Blanc Tunnel is completely closed from 2 September-16 December 2024. Ultra convenient for Mont Blanc ski lift. "
