A regional town not yet touristy like Sapa." - "This is a very nice hotel. I did not expect a lot because Ha Giang is not huge for tourism, and, to be honest, the room rates were not expensive. However, i was delighted to find myself in a lovely hotel, modern, clean, well-maintained. Our room was great, with double aspect windows, a good size, modern bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The staff at reception were very helpful & spoke good English (I did not expect that!) They organised a car & driver for us the following day, so that we could see the beautiful scenery around Ha Giang. Above, all, I will always remember sitting on the lovely terrace at the back of the hotel, enjoying a cold beer! This terrace looks across a lovely river with high karst mountains on the other side. It really is a stunning setting & i am surprised that the hotel doesn't show more pictures of this in it's advertising!! It is not often that a hotel has such a tempting and lovely outlook to offer. So, if anyone reads this and is thinkjng of going to Ha Giang - definitely go there!!! It's a lovely town in a beautiful mountain & riverside setting, with a stunning surrounding area.....and i very much recommend staying at The Phoenix Hotel!!! - "What a wonderful place to stay. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like family, which really reflects the surroundings: this place is run by and for the community. The employees are from literally down the road and not only that you’ll probably end up seeing their house and/or meeting their family during your stay. All the meals are delicious, filling, nourishing, and family style. Locally grown rice, so many different proteins, vegetables and herbs that were grown within a few km of the ecolodge. Also fresh juice and home made jams :) They’ve been up and running only a few months, so they’re still finding their groove. Come with an open mind and attitude. This will probably give the most home-y Vietnamese experience ❤️"
