- "This is a hotel of faded Highland splendour - but we are quite happy in such hotels. The staff are good and try to help and the room was quiet and comfortable. The shame is that the food caters to the lowest common denominator - coach parties. The choice for dinner was remarkably small and the food was average. The breakfast was not hot and the food in heated containers should have been replenished. The bacon was a welded mat of rashers - inedible. The hotel served our purpose but needs attention."

I was looking for something straightforward when I came to Kingussie to visit my daughter, and didn't expect this to be so pleasant. The room was large and comfortable and clean. There were no staff on site, but everything had been prepared and left ready for a comfortable stay. Entry was easy, with the PIN-code key locker. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate, and the coffee machine was great. There was plenty of room downstairs to eat and rest.
