- "We stayed for only one night but we were happy with the hotel. Check-in process was quick; front desk staff was super friendly. We booked a room for four which had stairs. There was a portable heater at the lower floor which worked great and managed to warm up both floors considerably. The bathroom was a little small, but not a big inconvenience for a 1-night stay. The walls are a little thin and you can hear the next room, so if you are an early or light sleeper, might be good to put on some ear plugs! Pity we did not have time to try out the hot tubs in the courtyard; they looked fun."

This cabin has a deck and a dedicated parking for our vehicle. There’s a towel warmer in the shower area and the entry hall. Entry to the accommodation was just wide enough to lug a bag. It was a bit tricky going to the shower area coming from the inside as the doors both swing outwards but we found a way to make it work. My children loved that the Wifi still works in the public carpark at the bottom of Ngauruhoe Terrace. Breakfast buffet is $25 and feels expensive for what’s on offer. Not sure if it was the weather or poor lighting in the restaurant but somehow it affected the palatability of the food. For dinner it was a hit for my my husband and myself (we ordered the salmon and vegan lasagna), but a miss for my two children (they ordered the pasta of the day and the fish and chips). Pasta was too creamy and the fish batter was not that crispy. The clouds parted on our last day and Mount Ngauruhoe showed itself. We love that we have a good view of it from the deck. Overall it was a good stay. This accommodation is positioned well for exploring the national park. "

So check in took a long time. It took a while to find the place, firstly. By the time we finally got to our room, the door next to our room kept slamming in the wind. I had to prop it open with a table so it wouldn't keep us awake. The other stayers were noisey. Noone told me where the kitchen was, I had to ring reception. And they didn't know. By the time we found it, we were so tired. Ended up eating some chips and going to sleep. Made the reservation through this app at 5:30pm. By the time we found the place and got checked in, it was 8pm. Got in the bed and felt like i was getting bitten straight away. Ended up with itchy bites all around my ankles. Left in the morning not having had dinner, breakfast or a shower :( Not a great stay at all. Not happy Will not be back"
