- "I picked the Astoria Current hotel based on the reviews, and curious why it has the highest rating hotel in Boracay. When i came in, i was hesitant, the hotel lobby is at the back of the hotel, the road is narrow. But when we enter the facility there were two pools, they provide towels and has life guard stationed. the place is nice and the people are very friendly. The size of the room is not what i expected but it is descent and clean. The hotel is really near the beach and theres a lot of stores around, also a lot of bars and lounges, it’s a one stop shop. The people in the Citrine Lounge (shout out to Kevin, Reynan, rea, tom and iya)) has the superb service, you can ask them anything and they will try their best to provide each request. You can sing on their karaoke from 5-10 and enjoy their live acoustic on the Parasol buffet dining. We also witness the fire dance. It is really one of the best vacation. If i will come back to Boracay, i will definitely come back to Astoria. Now i know why the rating is 5.0. It’s too good to be true but yes, the rating is true, 5 stars is really what they deserve."

- "We stayed here only one night but the hospitality was amazing. This is also a very serene and beautiful resort that’s very affordable and still luxurious. 1. Beach access is really easy and if your building is further - they have golf carts at the ready! They provide mats and towels. 2. The food is really really good! We had breakfast food for breakfast and lunch and the Sinigang is really tasty. 3. The staff is super attentive, helpful and all very very nice! 4. We had a minor incident re: luggage being delivered outside of our room and was left there for 4sh hours. The entire building is secure with access only to people staying there but we arrived early and paid the half day rate so that we can go freshen up and hit the ground running. But since we still had to wait 30 mins for room to be ready, we decided to head to the pool/beach. So by the time they came to deliver my room keys, we were having so much fun that when asked what to do with luggage, I had asked them to deliver it to my room while I stayed at the pool. They never said anything about their policy that they don’t enter unless client is in room but this is the first ever, in all my years of travel, that they would leave it outside even after I asked them to deliver to my room. I just assumed that means inside. So please make sure everyone is clear on communication. It made me upset but Belle, the manager, refunded my early check in fee since I didn’t actually enter room until 4sh pm! "

They provided exemplary professional and extremely courteous service to my group of 7 pax! We loved being together in the family room for 8 pax! The beds were comfortable with clean linens. As it was my first time in Boracay, I didn't realize that most hotels were low-rise and were walk-up with no elevator. For 2 senior citizens in my group, it was difficult to climb to the 4th floor. Had I known, I would have requested a lower floor. For a room with 7 pax, one bathroom is insufficient. It would be better with an additional powder room. For 7 pax, a small trash bin in the bathroom is insufficient if we are to comply with the advice to not throw toilet paper in the toilet. For a room with 7 pax, there was insufficient space to hang wet clothes and towels so we hung wet items outside the room by the window. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Il Mare Sakura, particularly because of the wonderful staff, and it was close enough to the beach and the restaurants. Thank you, Sakura staff!"
