- "Only stayed the one night but is very close to bus stops and the hotel is clean and lovely. The wellness centre was a great way to spend time in the evening after being out all day. Only issue we ran into was after missing a bus the hotel called a cab for us but after looking at the bus schedule we wanted to cancel the cab but she did not understand the request so we ended up having to take the cab which cost 40 chf (so almost $70 with exchange) for less than a 10 minute ride down the road. Lessons learned avoid taxis at all costs!!!! "

- "It was raining very hard when we arrived and we didn’t want to go out. The staff showed us to our rooms and arranged for a table at the hotel restaurant. The food was the best I had in Switzerland. Then the next day at breakfast the food was once again delicious and varied. Our room was small but fun and there weren’t many other rooms sharing the communal bathroom The biggest perk was the spa! The pool was warm, and the hot tub even warmer and more comfortable. It was a great perk we didn’t expect. "

Only had a short stay, but loved it!" - "The check in agent was kind and pleasant and my registration processes fast and smooth. The hotel is centrally located to the bus station which was super convenient for me. The hotel has few amenities other than dining, and the rooms are rather basic and small however that is all that I required for my short stay, and the price point matched my needs. Breakfast is included and the variety was very good, particularly the fresh pressed juices. However, the breakfast attendant was extremely rude. I was not greeted at the entrance and after waiting I decided to seat myself. I was later told off and given unacceptable attitude as I inadvertently sat at the wrong table. Evidently there is assigned seating for each room number. I did not notice the sign at the entrance as the message in English was is much smaller print than the other languages. It was not necessary for the attendant to be so openly upset and rude to me for my mistake. I appreciate the need for order however I sat at the table late in the morning when the breakfast room was essentially empty. I really hope the hotel management provides training on customer service emphasizing various situations including what I described. I expect to be treated with respect, welcome, and curtesy, but experienced very much the opposite - as such I do not recommend this hotel. "

Beautiful traditional hotel with charm and a family touch. The Hotel Bernina has 42 rooms as well as a restaurant and a large sunny restaurant terrace. Each room is unique. Some rooms have been recently renovated and offer a magnificent view of the Engadine mountains. WLAN is free of charge in the accommodations and has been upgraded to a secure and faster one. In summer, the hotel is an excellent starting point for long walks, hikes and bike tours. When you book this hotel, you will receive the Engadin Card. This card offers you free use of the local cable cars/mountain railroads and buses. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. In winter, you can reach the surrounding ski areas quickly and easily from the nearby bus stop. The Corviglia/Marguns ski areas are around a 10-minute drive away. A cross-country ski trail is 1640 ft away. From just one overnight stay, you receive the ski pass (number of overnight stays = number of ski days) for just CHF 47. A ski room and a bike/wash station are available at the accommodations. Guests with cars and e-vehicles can conveniently park & charge their car in our own underground garage (for a fee)

Xavier and Elizabeth and their team are very good hosts. They run the place very efficiently. The inclusive breakfast is great and they give you many choices of both warm and cold offerings. Cereals, breads, coffee, tea, chocolate drink, omelette, boiled egg, meats, fruits. I could go on. It was great for the children. Everyday they found something different they liked to eat.This place is the only building in the immediate neighborhood but it has a bus stop and a train station right in front of it. The bus service ended by 4:00pm in the winter when the ski areas were closed and the last train from Pontresina is at 7:00pm. One has to get back to the hotel early if depending on public transport. If you have a car then no problem else you may have to take an expensive taxi. We had all our dinners at the hotel restaurant. They do have many choices and their prices are comparable to the restaurants in town. Their food is good too.They have a game room and TV room which is great for family activities in the evenings. We bought 3 day passes for the buses and train and it worked perfectly well. We used the passes to as far as Alp Grum and to Zuoz. We used them on buses to Silvaplana, buses within Saint Moritz and the different trains to many places in the Engadin. Montrerach is right up the road for good skiing and is just one stop on both the bus and local Rhaitian redtrain and not the Bernina Express."
