- "Excellent service !" - "The good part… the bed, linens, television was new, big, good signal. Central location on a busy corner. Internal sliders successfully block the street noise. Ceiling fan. The bad.. breakfast should be included. The worst. The pizzeria that opens into the courtyard is used for parties. This means loud, live , amplified music. So loud that you cannot watch the television and certainly cannot sleep. I stayed for more than a week. I will be returning to Popayan but I will never again stay at La Plazuela.These noisy parties are very inconsiderate to hotel guests and ruined my experience. "

I only paid the upgrade to be in a better room thinking it would be a smooth transition. Had I known I would be evicted at noon, I never would have paid it. Won’t be making the mistake of upgrading here again. On a more positive note, the property is a museum "

- "Really fantastic hotel at a very reasonable place. Location is fantastic- 1/2 block from the main plaza (Parque Caldas) in an old colonial building. My room (#218) had big windows opening to a small balcony overlooking the street. If you don't like noise, you probably wouldn't want that. But I don't mind so the balcony was an amazing place to watch the world go by. The restaurant is also top notch. Service was fantastic without being overbearing. The only thing is they don't provide much in terms of bathroom amenities (just soap) so if you need shampoo, lotion, or other stuff, bring it with you. Amazing hotel!"

I did so, but I messed up that booking and had to look again at the airport in Popayan after I landed late in the morning. Thanks to the very helpful staff at Hotel Boutique Confort Suites, I was in a perfect room by 1PM. The bed was comfortable, the suite well-stocked with coffee machine, glassware, shower supplies and quiet. It is mere minutes from the airport, close to a grocery store, and peaceful at night (I woke to the sound of a horse passing in the street around 5:30am). Breakfast was delicious. Many thanks to the staff for helping a weary traveler. "
