Despite the fact that it is a pool and beach resort, I was informed at check-in that the outdoor pool was closing at 6pm. Why they would close the pool so early is still something I don’t understand. I tried to use the indoor pool and hot tub but that was disappointing as well. The area was dirty, with clumps of hair and dead bugs around the hot tub, and dirt in the showers. The hot tub was also cold. There was no staff in the area, so I could not ask anyone to adjust the hot tub temp. My room also left much to be desired. Only two pillows were on the bed and the air conditioning only went down to 24°C. The hot room made it impossible to sleep, and I seriously considered leaving at 2am to find a more suitable hotel. There was also no information page in the room with information about the amenities; basically you have to memorize what the front desk tells you at check in or go out of your way to call/visit them. Lastly, when leaving in the morning, I waited at the gate for about five minutes before security opened it. Yet, he saw I was there the entire time but was too busy having a conversation with another employee to just push the button on the remote. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. What is advertised as a luxury hotel barely meets subpar standards. "

- "We stayed here 1 night. Very charming, traditional old house converted to a hotel. Main building built in the 1600’s. Well decorated, comfy beds, updated bathroom with shower. We stayed in the main house but there are newer units across the pretty courtyard/restaurant that look similar in style. The main house has tons of antiques and furniture as well as looms and traditional items. We stayed in the oldest room in the house and it was really pretty. We ate lunch and breakfast in the courtyard. Also, had a nightcap there. Walking distance to pretty much everything but the castle. Also about 4 blocks from the main city center/pedestrian walk with shops and restaurants. It is definitely on the tour bus circuit, but they handle the crowds pretty efficiently and it never interfered with our stay except for a bit of a wait for meals. Would definitely recommend!"

- " We spent 3 days here and had a wonderful time. We had a terrace and lake view room that was very comfortable. It feels like a family run hotel - The staff were lovely and the language barrier was not a problem. 2 of the staff spoke excellent English. The restaurant/bar was good and the portions were impressive- especially the salad! The beach is stony and it can be quite hard to get into the water due to algae. Try entering from either side of the beach and using the rocks to help you into the water. We walked to Zogaj for a meal and drink and it was a nice walk - there is also a pontoon there for easy swimming. Transport is needed to get to the hotel from Shkoder - a taxi was €15. Would definitely stay again "

The restaurant is off from the bar where there's no smoking. Food is great. The manager helped us plan our tour of Shkoder which is a very pretty city. This is a five star hotel experience for 3-star prices. I highly recommend it!"
